    Lol that's brilliant!
  2. Grace hasn't had an original top 40 hit since 1986 (she had a remix of a previous hit make the top 40 in 1994) so she's not been a contemporary artist for decades. So hardly a surprise she's not top 100 on a relatively young forum like Buzzjack!
  3. Won't Raab, Gove, Johnson all lose? That's 3 big beasts right there
  4. Saw that, and of course will get away with that Scot free. He is an idiotic troll but sure I read somewhere that Conservative party members rate him extremely highly in their preferred Tory polling. Could easily be next Conservative leader if/when Sunak loses the GE.
  5. Is that Ed's? I really wouldn't call it a flop either. Underperformamce sure. And it's only week 1, it might stabilise.
  6. Definitely surprised that some of mine (older/alternative artists) are still in the mix but likes of Ella, Kesha, Zara and Cheryl have gone!

At the end of the day, if people aren't caring enough about new music the charts are going to be incredibly stale - attempts like ACR to freshen it up can only go so far.
  8. Dog Days Are Over is one of those tracks that you expect would go viral, surprised its taken so long. Nice if it could reenter top 100 not been there since 2013.
  9. -_- Ed's covered Chicane, Noah and the Whale, Darius, Madonna, Tori Amos and Kate Bush all on one album!

So less than 2/3 of the councils officially declared and Conservatives have a net LOSS of 29 councils. The War on Woke going Well isn't it? :kink:

Yep Johnson (who is actually more to the left than Sunak on some issues) would cause carnage in the party if returned but doubt he will there, he's lost his mojo (oh dear!) Do Lib Dems want to rejoin the EU nowadays, I've now lost track. That would go down well in the non-red wall seats in the General Election. Wish Labour and Lib Dems did some kind of agreement (unlike in 2019 people won't mind) - makes me nervous that they don't.

Nice that the Tory tree killers there were voted out. Overall though (and I again expect with very minimal hype whatsoever for the Lib Dems to smash it out of the park tomorrow with some juicy results), these aren't brilliant for Labour considering how much of a shitshow the Tories are.

So there's going to be a lot of tactical voting which will cost the Tories dearly I hope! Interestingly Rehman Chisti (Tory MP for Gillingham) has bravely gone right out and said Suella Braverman's rhetoric is harming them and playing to the Far Right. Could be a very interesting couple of days!

My dad is standing as a Tory councillor in Surrey (:puke2:) - as a paper candidate as not expected to be elected in his ward. Weirdly we get on vast majority of the time. I hope he does lose though as he's not in the best health anyway so wouldn't be suitable to do so.

So the anti trans laws now being put through in Republican states like Texas means that Schools can't take pupils to see 'James and the Giant Peach' as some male actors play female characters and vice versa even if that's common in ensemble productions to reduce the numbers of actors. https://www.thepinknews.com/2023/05/04/texa...-peach-houston/ I mean there's horrifically bad anti LGBT hate crime done every day but this is a bonkers and sinister consequence of legislation passed in state after state. Sad times.

I don't get a vote as in London but hope Tories do atrociously obviously. I had a discussion with a good friend who we broadly have very similar views politically. He refuses to vote Labour point blank under Starmer as leader as doesn't trust him (rightly) and think he's too right wing (correct) Luckily he lives in an ultra safe Labour seat like I do so his vote won't matter but I still think that this evil Tory government have to be taken out of ALL costs - a decent PM would be a 'nice to have'. Just hope his views aren't copied too much in the General Election.
  17. Zach Bryan not going to recurrent (outside top 25, >52 weeks) although country stars especially seem to avoid that rule because it's still gaining somewhere? Still it's an excellent track so no bother there.
  18. Why understandable as matter of interest? I don't think she's any good but she wasn't any good back then personally.
  19. Love Katy B especially 'Katy on a Mission' and 'Crying for No Reason', probably my favourite singles in their respective years.
  20. I've checked a few posts of his on Twitter and he's absolutely vile and can tell he's consumed by anger, self hatred and completely f***ed up. Looks like he's about to cry everytime he opens his mouth. He makes Andrew Tate seem subtle (although Tate is more dangerous surely because more intelligent).

Yep both Outhere Brothers no.1 were offensive puerile trash although the one you mention did have a remix which stripped out the smut and was a half decent banger (and played on radio) Can't seem to post the link but it's here. Called the Townhouse radio edit.

Love this thread. I recently heard a no.1 that I have no idea if it was controversial at the time (maybe some of our ahem seasoned Buzzjackers would know) but just can't imagine the lyrics being played on daytime radio today. That one is 'Suicide is Painless' the theme to MASH which was no.1 in 1980 which has lyrics that could be interpreted as encouraging suicide. What is darkly prophetic is that the Manic Street Preachers took a cover of the song to the top 10 in 1992 with the then guitarist and lyricist Richey Edwards still a member. A few years later he disappeared- widely believed to be suicide.
  23. Thought Zara would be much bigger as she recently had her own Buzzjack forums. Love Sophie's 'Whaler' album
  24. It's a bit sad that despite being American, Lizzie McAlpine's 'Ceilings' is only a minor hit in the USA compared with UK. And David Kushner's debut is far lower in his home country (48) then UK (3). This Regional Mexican trend is very prominent and I took a peak at next week predictions and its force is increasing!
  25. Absolute banger - can't wait till the Ice Spice remix is out and it starts a Tik Tok dance craze before it crashes Spotify. :music: In all seriousness, very uncommercial lead, even by her standards. Possibly only 'When Under Ether' from 'White Chalk' was less instant. That said sounds atmospheric and probably fit in well in context of album. Let's hope she still has it after all these years off.
