  1. Thanks so much for this Julian. The no.1 was never in doubt but thrilled about 'The Show Must Go On" being no.2
  2. Lol thats what bloody Donald Trump said about his "charity single" beating Taylor and Miley went it didn't even make the US Hot 100 at all officially

Joe Biden with the horrendously difficult in-tray- Covid, Ukraine, horrific right wing opponents has done incredibly well. Love his sass as well as he sees through the UK Brexit bullshit and snubbing the Coronation nonsense. And he stands up for abortion and trans rights publicly. Such a contrast to Starmer his UK equivalent.
  4. Yay excellent news. And she's collaborating with John Parish and Flood. I thought her last album 'Hope Six Demolition Project' was OK but not worth the huge wait and my least favourite of her albums. So hope this is a return to form. Hope it's very challenging but in a good way!
  5. 'Hollywood' by Marina was absolutely amazing song - should have been massive. Loved 'Family Jewels' album.
  6. No-one comes out of this well. Abbot's comments were bad and to use a "first-draft" nonsense as an excuse is like me going yo a manager and saying my dog ate the report I didn't write.Be an adult and admit to it. But people are purely focusing on the antisemitism part of the letter but ignoring Gypsy, Roma, Travellers whose experience of racism she marginalised. And huge number of MPs make anti trans comments or demonise refugees on a daily basis and they are celebrated by the media and no chance of them losing the whip. She won't come back to Labour as the media will go ape but the whole situation and hypocrisy around her treatment stinks a bit.
  7. Surprising that a megastar like Gloria Estefan never had a top 5 hit although several of her songs came mighty close. Also that three of her biggest UK hits ('Anything for You', 'Can't stay away from you' and 'Don't wanna lose you') were MOR ballads all ending with 'You' and extremely similar reflective lyrics about relationships which aren't going well where although she doesn't want it to end she will accept it if that is his wish. :(
  8. Point taken - I was largely going by my personal opinion (and of my friends). Forgot about Lady Gaga - very strong contender but Madonna probably would have slightly more overall appeal of all ages.
  9. Taylor, Dua Lipa definitely in the top 5 - possibly Madonna, Kylie and *wildcard* Kate Bush? Rihanna and Beyonce top 10 too. EDIT - although looking at previous rates, could be way out. Britney is like massive on Buzzjack and no disrespect but I wouldn't say she features in the greatest of all time normally.
  10. 'Don't Stop Me Now' is difficult to judge on its own merits its been so ruined but agreed with Popchartfreak that it was never a good song. Great 'The Show Must Go On' is still there!
  11. Yep going to be exciting moving towards the business end of proceedings!
  12. And of course our plain evil right wing media are going on about "woke" leftist civil servant elite forcing out Ministers because of political differences and Brexit. Although if that was the case why focus mainly on Raab and not other of the right wing but non bullying Ministers. Stupid twats
  13. Oliver Dowden the new Deputy PM :nocheer: - he's got a habit of saying really nasty far right stuff, although was one of the first people that resigned against Johnson and brought his PMship down.
  14. Actually I got it wrong and pleased that I did - the vile creep with zero talent has actually resigned.
  15. Lol Jane Mcdonald is (disappointingly?), surprisingly cred for ChartJack2's 30 points. Was expecting someone like Nadia Almada, Katie Price or queen Sophie Lawrence. Guess they're all coming later though...
  16. Oh if you believe Sunak will sack him I've got a bridge to China. Will be like Patel, a crappy non apology with business as usual. Plus Right Wing papers attacking "snowflake" civil servants.
  17. Hylda and Arthur actually released a whole album of covers including no fewer than 3 Boney M tracks. According to Spotify figures all apart from the single have had less than a 1000 plays.....
  18. If it wasn't for Chartjack2 I think it was a very safe bet that I would have eventually died never having the "pleasure" of hearing that cover of 'You're the one that I Want'. I had heard of it via the Guiness books of hit singles for several years mind.
  19. Yikes why didn't I vote for FKA Twigs? Guess because I didn't click that she had a top 40 hit but her 'Magdalene' album is one of the best albums of all time. I really loved 'You Broke Me First' - one of those forever associated with pandemic tracks, dark and vengeful. Can't believe how young Tate was then.

Although of course if Stranglers 'Golden Brown' had made no.1, that would have been an extremely controversial no.1 due to the subject matter of the song - heroin (although not referred to by name).
  21. 'Hammer to Fall' nothing groundbreaking but very catchy'. Slightly disappointed 'Seven Seas of Rhye' so low - love that swirling piano although the 'Oh I do like to be by the seaside' ending is a bit naff. 'I Want it All' do love the heaviness on it.
  22. 'Laura', 'Trophy' and 'Two Planets' are my favourites, she certainly deserved massive success (especially her 'Two Suns' album) but never quite managed it.
  23. Lol, I was being (semi) sarcastic - it certainly was a strange song though. Mind you everything about Iggy was/is a bit strange.

Yes a lot of left leaning figures I look at have noticeably stopped posting in past few days on Twitter. Moving to Substack?
  25. 'Work' was an avant garde rap masterpiece. Not that keen on her other stuff.
