Donald Trumps arrest
I can't see any way on God's earth that Trump can win in 2024. He lost comprehensively before 1/6 and all the other crazy shit had come out and his closely aligned candidates flopped at the mid terms last year. He could inspire more violence although he tried raising the alarm last year and, in the real world not online, his followers weren't seen for dust. I think De Santis would be more dangerous, but luckily he has no charisma whatsoever. That said think all the other lead candidates are gun worshipping ultra homophobes too.

Donald Trumps arrest
But I'm taking it that whatever happens, even if jailed, then he can run for President in 2024? That's majorly wrong on all levels.

By-elections 2024
I'm failing to see why Scotland which is very pro-EU would vote for Labour who have ruled out joining the Customs Union/Single Market or indeed diverging much from this current Tory Government on anything really.

US iTunes Top 100 [2023 THREAD]
The name Tom MacDonald next to a track called 'American Flags' at no. 2 doesn't exactly fill me with joy especially as Jason Aldean is still no 1. Just looked at the lyrics and pure Nazi violent hate... :puke2:

Friday Chart Predictions
Surprised 'Come to Daddy' by Aphex Twin only made no.36. Guess the legendary video legacy made it seem bigger than it was.

The Tory fibs and fabrishications thread, Mk III
I'm now beginning to think Sunak is WORSE than Johnson- just so slimy and nasty. Everything he does is for survival and his latest is to drop green policies including stopping all Low Traffic Neighbourhoods and pushing for new oil and gas licenses in Scotland while the planet is burning. Just to win seats like Uxbridge and put Starmer on the backfoot (and no doubt Starmer will drop Labour's green policies so fast since he has zero principles). His children's generation will never forgive him and others for the rampant destruction to their futures.

Charts are really busy at the moment! Is 'Nothing Compares 2 U' position with manual reset included?

Alarming homophobic news items
More subtle this but many people are thinking that Govia Thameslink cancelling ALL trains to Brighton on the day of the most loved Pride event in the country due to some overtime dispute is a bit suspect. https://www.thepinknews.com/2023/07/28/brig...ains-cancelled/ Not saying blatant homophobia but a company that happily rainbow-washes all the time cannot get their shit together for a day, which is in the calendar for months, that means so much to the LGBQ+ community, especially in times where solidarity is badly needed.

Farage's proposed Reform Party
It's basically a huge power and money grab by the bullying hard-right establishment who ignore the logs in their own eyes (blatant corruption, vested interest, Russian interference, tax avoidance) but focus on a speck in another's eyes. Thought people were wising up to this crap after Brexit but nope this shit still flies in 2023.
-
Farage's proposed Reform Party
And of course there's this element it too - GB News boss taking money from the UK taxpayers (NatWest is 40% owned by the Government and has lost £770 million). Kerching! @1684313395456081921

Farage's proposed Reform Party
As loathe as I am to discuss this absolutely repellent man who has helped destroy this country economically and turn it into a mean-spirited reactionary hell hole (although prob if not him it would have been others) and there maybe some semblance of justification to his claims if the Chief Executive of a bank was breaking confidentiality, but this really effing grates that with all the horrors in the world - Climate Emergency, Cost of Living Crisis, NHS on its knees, No housing for the young etc etc. So the Prime Minister, Home Secretary, BBC (our supposed impartial broadcaster) have been going on about this story as if it was the most important thing in the world (along with majority of all the foreign owned UK "newspapers" and of course GB News) and they got multiple resignations tout de suite. It really shows that the hard right need to flex its muscles and what they want they get - double quick. Really worrying precedent for the future and increases the power of this dangerous Trumpite exponentially. I'm sure if he stood as a candidate in the General Election he wouldn't get in anywhere for example. Rant over - for now.

The 1975 - 'The 1975'
Not sure if this is the right place but this week The 1975 have really put their foot in it with Matty Healy's kiss with the bassist Ross MacDonald in apparent protest against Malaysia's strict anti gay laws. https://www.thepinknews.com/2023/07/26/matt...ufus-sivaroshan Although, on the surface, admirable, without checking what the implications might be (the whole festival that the 1975 was cancelled and fear that the government could use it to crackdown on LGBT rights) it came across as rash and could cause danger.

Friday Chart Predictions
'Sprinter' is a great track. I'm surprised about how long it has spent at no.1 as it doesn't really have a big chorus but it's a great earworm and do love that ultra laidback summery instrumentation- a bit like 'Starlight'. Central Cee sounds better on it than his other tracks (I know that isn't hard). It's not a record I seek out but do enjoy it when it's played.

Friday Chart Predictions
I think the fact he didn't change the lyrics is the best thing about the song so he sings from the perspective of a black queer woman which is admirable in these times and for his target market.

Friday Chart Predictions
We don't want US country clogging up our charts - it's taken a very dark turn in the US with Jason Aldean. Plus the odd exception aside ('Something in the Orange') the tracks are invariably shit.

US Hot 100 – 07/22/2023
The new Billboard Hot 100 has been announced and Jung Kook is no.1 holding Jason Aldean off at no.2. So near miss this week, although extremely high for such a repellent record, but what can happen next week?

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
Spotify Premium going up to £10.99 a month. Understand that it hasn't risen for a while but yet another rise during Cost of Living crisis. :(

Generic ROTW Politics
I'm guessing if the left block does align with the separatists to get a paper thin majority that would be a poisoned chalice as Junta would demand too high a price. In the same way that Labour would never coalition with the SNP
-
Generic ROTW Politics
Yes that is a good but not great result. Aren't the left wing coalition on fewer seats than before? That makes the decision to call a General election a bit foolhardy even if democratic.
-
US Hot 100 – 07/22/2023
Yikes. To have something like that (watched the video too and was pretty disturbing) at no.1 would be unprecedented Plus no doubt more of these country stars will release similar MAGA stuff.

That Will I am/Britney thing is atrocious. The song itself is bad but OMG the production is so cheap and tinny.

The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread: 21st July 2023
Lo key celebrating Billie Eilish getting yet another Top 10 with an incredibly beautiful but quite uncommercial song.
-
US Hot 100 – 07/22/2023
I tend to find the US Top 100, especially now, with a few notable exceptions - Taylor, Miley etc is incredibly male dominated. Hip hop, Country, that regional Mexican trend tend to have high prevalence of male artists and fanbase. They have far less dance and pop that the UK market has which evens it up a bit.

US Hot 100 – 07/22/2023
What you basing this on - the latest predictions (Charted Music which are pretty accurate) have Morgan at no.1 again and can't see this Jason Aldean at all. Or am I missing something?
