Sunday Chart Predictions
If Olly Murs loses out by a small margin, it will serve him right for not releasing this single on CD. He's lost one sale here. (I'm sure that will make all the difference!) His recent singles HAVE been on CD. Does anyone know why the record company hasn't bothered with this one?

Christmas Day chart 2011
"due to post xmas stocking filler purchases" They will still be PRE-Christmas purchases in the single's second week; that's the point. I'm sure that's what you meant...

Sunday Chart Predictions
A third week? It's Rihanna & Calvin's FIFTH week. It's not even the third week of this run; it's the second. Once again, Music Week can't even get the basic facts right.

Sunday Chart Predictions
Nope. They didn't show it. (I suspect it was his other song, as everyone did two (or three), but the delayed TV broadcast only showed The A Team.)

Return to No.1
It's probably worth mentioning that Take That's Babe single initially came in a rather splendid, spiral-bound 1994 calendar, which fans such as myself made sure they bought on the first day of release. That probably helped to spike sales even more in week one than their previous singles and let them drop enough in week two. (It had more to do with Mr. Blobby's ridiculous popularity at the time though, sadly.) Chig

"Top 30 Diana Ross Sigur Ros" It's nice to see the various branches of the Ros(s) family sticking together. :-)

Frankie Cocozza booted out of X-Factor
The X Factor's statement includes this Orwellian line: "He is going to take some time out before continuing his career as a singer." The words "continuing", "career" and "singer" have been instantly redefined.

Well spotted. You're right. So the MW report is even more messed up, because the text doesn't even match the chart update! What are they on?

Sunday Chart Predictions
The standard of these Music Week reports appalls me every week. There are so many mistakes, every time. Do those of you who subscribe to it ever complain to them? Some of the mistakes above have been pointed out already, but here's another one: "Ed Sheeran release Lego House up 46% to move it 7-6" A quick glance at the chart would tell them that it's #6 ALREADY, so it's not moving anywhere. Music Week's writers are idiots.

...and it's completely brilliant. Far better than the song.

Is the Xmas chart revealed on the 18th or 25th?
I saw it too and commented on their mistake. They'll probably delete my comment, just like they did with many people's comments last week on other chart news. The OCC encourages commenting, but they don't seem to like it when people actually do it.

Sunday Chart Predictions
Well, you've (inadvertently?) hit the nail on the head there. Like pornography, Steps benefit from the internet, for much the same reason. In the download era, people can download whatever they like, and no one needs to know. There's no more embarrassment of picking that Steps album off the shelf and mumbling, "It's for my little sister" at the shop assistant. Chig

007 Chart Commentary - The Return!
- The Buzzjack Sunday Chart Show Thread
And there's me thinking he was just anti-Christmas. ;-)- The Buzzjack Sunday Chart Show Thread
Exactly. And then, moments after telling us that Iris is #3, idiot Reggie says Dappy has fallen to #3. (He's #4.) He just doesn't know what he's doing.- Sunday Chart Predictions
Why does the Music Week report call Joss Stone's album "Stone'd"? Putting the ludicrous apostrophe to one side for the moment, the album seems to be called 'Lp1'. At least that's what hmv and amazon are selling. (And while we're on apostrophes, is it Music Week themselves who put the meaningless apostrophes into the word 'midweeks', three times in that report, or have they been added when the report has been posted on here?)- The Buzzjack Sunday Chart Show Thread
Keep it up though. It's the kind of nonsense I love. :-) (Evidence to back it up is even better.)- The Buzzjack Sunday Chart Show Thread
Well, it's not a top 12 of non-movers from last week's chart, but it IS a non-moving top 12 since the official update on Wednesday. I don't sit here and tick them off EVERY week like I have today (no, really...) but I THINK that's unprecedented.- The Buzzjack Sunday Chart Show Thread
He's not. He's talking about Nik Kershaw. Who is Nick Kershaw? :-)- The Buzzjack Sunday Chart Show Thread
The chart covers 168 hours (ie. a week = 24x7 = 168). Is it really so hard to understand how the last seven hours of that week are not going to have much impact on the 161 hours of sales that have already been clocked up?- The Buzzjack Sunday Chart Show Thread
Or, to put it another way, the Big Top 40 is irrelevant rubbish, and is of no interest to fans of the sales chart.- The Buzzjack Sunday Chart Show Thread
It's now called 'Love THE WAY It Hurts'. Thicko Reg said so, so it must be true.- The Buzzjack Sunday Chart Show Thread
I felt compelled to put this message on the Official Chart Show's facebook page: "No mention from Reg that it's three weeks in a row for Price Tag at #40. Can we have a presenter with a vague interest in the chart, please?" Seriously, what is the point in having a chart show that doesn't present chart quirks like that?- The Buzzjack Sunday Chart Show Thread
What's caused Ed Sheeran's sales to perk up so much in the second half of the week? He was a non-mover at #6 in the Wed update. Everything else in the top 13 today is either the same as Wed or just one place out.- The Buzzjack Sunday Chart Show Thread
I was enjoying that run of ten consecutive fallers. It's madness that the climber which brings it to an end is something that's been around for ever, not even a new track! - The Buzzjack Sunday Chart Show Thread
