NYE concert at Westminster Central Hall
I'd expect there to be several guests. It's a sort of 2 part party, with Fireworks and the Big Ben countdown in the middle.

Gary Barlow - Since I Saw You Last
There does seem an exceptionally big gap between major promotion and release. The date was from his official facebook, so it would appear accurate. Jan 20th is his Birthday, which I'd assume is a coincidence, rather than a relevant fact. Is the Sat 14th Dec XF perfomance confirmed?

Gary Barlow - Since I Saw You Last
He said he wondered why she put up with him, said she was too good for him, rather than wondering why he was married to her, I think. There's also a writing collaboration between Gary and Robbie called Wedding Bells, on Robbie's swing album. Single artwork:

X Factor performances 2013
Gary Barlow will perform Let Me Go on Nov 17th, the single's release date, which should boost it quite a bit, I imagine.

Gary Barlow - Since I Saw You Last
According to those who have heard the Elton duet (being played on Radio 2 by Chris Evans this Friday btw, with Gary in the studio) it's a massive track, so perhaps single No.2 and another hit, after Let Me Go?

Westlife - Lighthouse + The Greatest Hits
I like Buzzjack, but one thing keeps me away and that, Kath, is you. On every forum you've graced with your presence over the years, whether as Gloria, Norma or one of your other hysterical pseudonyms, you've had the same bitchy, moany, vicious, attacking posting style. Negativity flows through your veins. How you can spend so much time being bitter and unpleasant has puzzled me for a long time. Did Gary turn you down for a shag in 1992 and opt for a fat Dutch girl instead?

New Songs From Album Progressed !!! (Youtube)
Nice to see an extended play CD that is actually worth the money. Some great tracks and I'm in the camp that feels it's better than the original Progress album. Don't Say Goodbye, Man, Beautiful and When the Work is Done are stand outs so far.

Gary - TT have too much talent
FFS, you really think this was an egotistical comment? The Sun is taking quotes out of context from old interviews and printing them almost daily, for God only knows what reason. Gary said this when discussing how they break down the writing process between them all, with 3 capable songwriters in the room, and he also spoke about Jason and Howard's contributions. Gary, Robbie and Mark are all talented writers...not many bands have that. There is nothing wrong with stating that your band has 3 talented writers in it! Not everyone finds the 'we're actually $h!t' approach of the likes of Chris Martin, necessary. Confidence is not a crime. Watch Look Back, Don't Stare and get the whole thing in context and perspective! The Sun is $h!t stirring, as usual.

Gary Barlow - CBeebies
Creepy???? How very odd. Many posted on twitter and various forums to say how much they loved it. He was charming. Personal dislike is a bad basis for any sort of review of a person's work, don't you think?

DVD - Record-breaking sales
I saw the director's cut at the Imax in London and yes, there's a lot more to it. I have the DVD which is the same as the Director's cut, it's much longer and has a set of extra short film pieces too. If you're interested in the full story and getting a clear picture of the whole reuniting as five experience, plus an better insight into how the album tracks came together, then it's well worth getting it.

Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me (New Single)
I can't say this excites me. When I heard the lyric I immediately thought of the cheesy old Bellamy Brothers hit 'If I said you had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold it Against me?, which really didn't help. No doubt a hit, but not a song I'll be listening to.

Predict Westlife - beautiful tonight (2nd single)
Gave it a listen. Truly awful. Plink plonk backing track, strained vocals, humdrum melody and no hook. Super. It sounds cheap, have they never heard of strings?

Gary to Celebrate His 40th Birthday
The point of doing something for Charity openly is to raise awareness of that Charity to more people - particularly the sector of society for whom giving to charity isn't a regular thing - not to feed an ego trip. It's easy to criticise good intentions, but so many do absolutely f*** all. There were tens of thousands of donations made through Radio1 for the Kili climb. Please don't kid yourself that a fraction of those listeners would have donated without an incentive. If that incentive is Cheryl Cole, Ronan Keating or Chris Moyles doing something unusual then so be it...it bloody worked!

Gary to Celebrate His 40th Birthday
Gary wanted to celebrate his 40th with something a bit different. He discussed it with the rest of TT quite a while back and Mark mentioned it in one of the Progress promo interviews, later Gary asked fans on his website if they thought it was a good idea. They did and so he planned it. It's a charity gig with him and friends he's met and worked with over the years playing music together. The fact that fans are able to be there is great. He could have filled it with friends and family and left the fans out of it. He also said on his website that he intended to do material that dated right back to Take That and Party, so not a gig full of his solo material, although I would hope some will be included. 11 years ago he said he'd never perform again, and several times over the last 5 years he's said he could never perform solo again. The fact that he's managed to regain enough confidence to do a one off show on his own is a cause for celebration, not derision. Many of you have called it self-indulgent? So is it self-indulgence for any artist to perform alone? Why the hell shouldn't he? He's got 20 years experience in a fickle and difficult industry, he's seen the highest highs and the lowest lows it can offer and finds himself at the age of 40 right at the top of his game despite everything. To resent him wanting to celebrate his Birthday doing what he loves, with friends with whom he enjoys making music, his family and many fans who have longed for him to take to the stage solo again, even if it's just for this one time, is mean-spirited and churlish. Booking The Royal Albert Hall would have been a sign perhaps of slight over confidence but he booked The Shepherd's Bush Empire, capacity 2000. He could have filled it several times. For Kath's information the lottery had no re-released tickets. The option to accept them stood for 24 hours after which the tickets were released into the auction. All auction tickets were taken up on the day the bidding closed. The lowest qualifying bid being £140. Many bid hundreds because they valued a place at this gig very highly. The proceeds go to Charity, how is this an act of arrogance and self-indulgence? Would the same criticism be levelled at other bands who do intimate charity gigs? Or at comedians who also do charity gigs on a regular basis? God forbid anyone should plan a Birthday celebration doing what they enjoy best, surrounded by people who will enjoy being a part of it. That's shameful isn't it? Or is shameful more the attitude of people who damn anything and everything for the sake of their own bigoted pomposity?

Radio 1 Chart Show - ways to improve it?
Just get rid of Reggie. That is all.

Matt Cardle - When We Collide
Precisely. Cut the guy some slack - he was coughing his way through all of his interviews today.
-
Who should be this years Christmas number 1?
I'm with the Matt Cardle vote. He's a genuine musician. I love the stuff he did with Seven Summers and I think if Simon leaves him alone he stands a good chance of producing a decent album.
