  1. I've had Dum Tek Tek in my head a lot today, but also Is It True?, It's My Time and Be My Valentine...
  2. Ditto and ditto! I don't really relish going further east than Greece, mainly due to the expense of flights & the language issue. But I'd maybe cope with Kiev. But no-one would go with me :(
  3. Anyone watching Jade's Story on BBC1? She is amazing <3
  4. I'm so eeeeeek about whether to put a last minute bet on Iceland!
  5. LOL @ Greece's result - there'd be hell on if they got that position tonight!
  6. Iceland, 3 times LOL. She is just brilliant, I'd be happy for her to give Jade a close call. I also threw Romania a vote for the semi, but won't in the final.
  7. Generally professional pianists do look a little smug when they play I think  It's something people like Myleene Klass etc are cricized for aswell often ... I think it's something in their genes!! And to be fair, I'd look permenantly smug if I was ALW, haha. I'm not too worried about the vocals to be honest. It's a shame she hit a bad note tonight when it counts, but I'm certain juries will have supported Jade. I'm mostly worried about the bloody steps! It's gonna make us look completely incompetent if the song starts as the steps collapse

m_GcVD4sJac That's a video from today's marked dress rehersal ... no sign of the bum-notes, but we do only get a tiny clip of her singing. I think she got a pretty great reception in the hall  Only France, Iceland, Greece, Malta, Turkey & Finland seem to have been given similar audience warmth ratings to the UK
  9. Apparently, according to Okiotimes , Jade's dress rehersal performance (the ones the juries were watching to make their marks) was good, but a little nervious and did miss a note or two  UNITED KINGDOM VOCAL PERFORMANCE: She missed a couple of notes but overall she was very good STAGE PRESENTATION: Problems at the beginning with the stairs CAMERA WORK: The songs ends with Webber applauding and smiling at Jade AUDIENCE REACTION: Extremely warm CURRENT ESTIMATION: 1-5 She can't have blundered any notes too much, or they wouldn't have predicted 1-5, surely  I'm sure any nerves will be sorted for tomorrow now she's done it 'properly' once. The 'problem' with the stairs are apparently to do with the setting up, not that Jade's heels are too high to get down them  Quite a few shots of ALW apparently, and an overall positive performance.
  10. I agree, stay in Portugese ... I love when countries sing in their own language (e.g. Estonia this year just beautiful). Maybe a mix of both if you think it'll help, but personally I don't think it will.
  11. I loved that Sakis' shirt BARELY fit him

To be fair, even when it's a bit crap I still watch because I'm so nosey (e.g. BB4, which I really enjoyed). But, last year and the year before were just too desperate and tragic for words, I hope they pick it up this year.
  13. But without the Big 4's financial contribution, the contest would arguably not exist, or at least not to the standard it's at. They won't just pay for it all if they're going to gain nothing. Personally I think if we'd had to qualify the last 6 years we'd have done a lot better, because we'd have had to send something deacent to make the final, but that's a whole other discussion
  14. So some people have speculated since the semi's were introduced that some songs do well because people have heard them before, and remember them from the semi's (who's gonna forget Svetlana from tonight?) ... so, would it be beneficial for the Big 4 and the host country to perform in the semi's as well, perhaps when votes are being cast/counted? Or is the preview video enough?
  15. I agree with Josh, I'd rather we got continuity with the actors, than worry too much about age. Also, I'd prefer they weren't all filmed back-to-back, imagine all 7 films being made with Philisophers Stone quality acting
  16. Re-watching the semi now, I'm not sure about Norway at all. In some ways, it's great, and Alex has definitely improved vocally, and he's cute, but I still wanna slap the grin off've his face sometimes :kink: I didn't realise it the first time round, but you can hardly hear Sakis ... but wow, what a show!
  17. I'd have liked to have seen: Montenegro, Switzerland, Slovenia and Ireland in the final. The rest, I shan't miss. Slovenia is the biggest loss ... excellent staging, and her voice is incredible, a brilliant entry. I mourn them more than Switzerland.
  18. 8/10, not bad :) Again, I put 11 instead of 10, epic fail.

Hmm ... I've put a fiver on Turkey, but I'm really considering putting the same on Ukraine, given this placing. She could blow everyone away.
  20. I agree ... since my first listen, I said Albania were the ones to watch for top 10, maybe top 5, material. But no-one listened :drama: Hoping for great thinks for Kejsi on Saturday, she is amazing for 16, and I love the song and performance.
  21. That's definitely odd, their scheduling is all over this year. They must have used a jury vote?
  22. I think there's a big chance the Netherlands could pull out now :(
  23. LOL @ me, can you tell I only got an hour's sleep last night?
  24. Boyan's right, a huge amount of Western countries went through on Semi 1 ... infact only Bosnia Herzegovina (and Turkey?) as an Eastern qualifiers!
