I had a lot of love for the Western 2007 lot - Vertigo, Danca Conmigo, Ven A Bailar Conmigo all rocked my life. But then, the East had sone tuneage aswell in Yassou Maria, Song Number 1, Mojot Svet & Work Your Magic. Looking back, one of my favourite years :wub:

Even just having ALW on stage playing piano for Jade should convince people of the UK's commitment a bit more this year. Top 10-15 I hope, it's a long way from the dismal placings of the last 6 years. Jade is fantastic, but I agree that the song is less spectacular until the band join in, the beginning is lacking somewhat. The song is slightly corny, but we have to remember the audience: complex lyrics that a lot of audience members just don't understand, won't go down well. 'It's my time' is about as complex as 'I need something to believe in', the lyrics need to be simple enough to be understood by a lot of non-native speakers. The melody is simpler, but gets quite epic towards the end. We just have to hope no-one sense anything too similar. Over the moon for Jade, of course, but I hope the modified version of the song is great, because she probably deserves better.

I imagine they WILL have a complete setlist by now, to complete staging, lighting & choreography etc ... they'd have to know even a vague order to work out the staging in terms of transitions etc by now I'd think...

So far, they've proved themselves to be slightly above average, at best.

Didn't I already answer that? What part of my post was not clear about why they are, IMO, unsuitable? I'll reiterate and make it as clear as I can: They gave two, frankly, dreadful performances tonight, and even though they do have talent, and I'm sure are lovely girls, have not yet proved that they can be trusted to not let the whole thing get the better of them in Moscow.

^ That's the problem with the twins - they can sing pretty well, and have nice deacent voices ... but you wouldn't know it from the shambolic performance tonight. Maybe they were nervous, maybe they bit off more than they could chew - but they can't afford to do that or let it affect them in Moscow. They're dangerous for the UK ... Jade, and to a lesser extent, Mark, are much safer for us.

I, too, am overjoyed :lol: The series is, actually amazing! One of my favourites, ever. Looking forward to the movie, not that they'll show it in UK cinemas, except maybe a couple of the big cities :(

I hope, for the UK's sake, people pick up their f***ing phones next week and dial Jade's (or at the very least, Mark's) number - it's like we're trying to sabotage ourselves.

This does all sound very cool - it'll work fantastically or not at all I think. Here's hoping for fantastic! I'll watch...
