Official E-Mail Statement
As no doubt you've heard, Keisha has left the Sugababes. She's had an absolutely incredible time over the past eleven years and has been constantly amazed and uplifted by the support you've all shown her. She'd like to pass on her huge thanks for helping the band have such a fantastic career and looks forward to you hearing her solo material, to be released by Island Records. Amelle and Heidi will be joined by Jade Ewen in the new Sugababes line-up. Jade has been a massive fan of the band for many years and is really excited to be a part of it. Their new album Sweet 7 will be released on 23rd November through Island Records. Keisha, Amelle and Heidi realise the news has come as a big shock and that some of you are upset. Along with Jade, they hope that you can join them in looking forward to the next chapter of the Sugababes. Brand New Community Section We've just launched a new area of www.sugababes.com, giving members the chance to interact with the site in loads of great new ways. Will the Sugababes survive this latest crisis/blow?
I think, potentially, yes. It was Heidi who saved the group the first time around, really - and I'm positive this lineup will work incredibly together (even if I did consider H, A & K a strong lineup). The majority of people who buy music to make it a top 5 hit aren't die-hard Sugababe fans. I expect most people care right now because it's a bit scandalous, but in the long run won't really give a toss.

At the end of the day, the US label must have seen a lot of potential in Jade, if it was them who instigated/encouraged Keisha's leaving. And even if it wasn't, they must think she's highly talented to have allowed her in as the replacement so swiftly. I somehow doubt the UK label would just say 'oh well we have this other girl, she's pretty good', and the US label just go with it. All round, both labels must think Jade is good enough, as they did Keisha, Heidi, Amelle, Siobhan and Mutya.

Because what I'm suggesting is that when Heidi/Amelle joined, they were presented to us as adequate replacements for the originials - i.e. they were the new originials / just as good / the same etc. If we swallowed that then, why can't we now? If we didn't, then the whole thing has been farcical since 2001? I don't think you can really say 'as long as one of them was there it was still the Sugababes' ... it should be all or nothing, and by that logic, they haven't been the original Sugababes since Siobhan left, making this sort of a a non-point?
-
Keisha FIRED
But if we're expected to accept Heidi and Amelle as suitable replacements (i.e. the band is still as good with Heidi as it was with Siobhan), doesn't that make them AS competent, and AS vaild members as the originials? /DevilsAdvocate

Supernatural
Hurrah! for Ellen. Boo! for Jo. Great great episode overall - and I agree with the similarity to Croatoan - wonderful!

Keisha FIRED
Childish, much? I don't think the treatment of Keisha by the other two and their management is right, but that's a real toys out of the pram moment. Whatevers, off to watch One Tree Hill. This is all the drama I can take for one night :drama:

Jade Ewen - Punching Out
 I get that your upset yeah, but she's really done nothing wrong in all of this - all she's done is take a job she was offered. If she hadn't, someone else would have. Hardly as if she stormed into Sugababes HQ and said 'y'all should totally sack Keisha and have me join instead'...
-
Jade Ewen - Punching Out
According to press releases, Jade is still signed to Geffen. Possibly then, her album will be unreleased (for now) but the songs held back? Although the info about Punching Out from A&R suggests not :(

Keisha FIRED
I don't know that that's true. I doubt they've sacked her because she's a bitch - if that were the case, they'd have gotten rid of her in the days when Siobhan left. Just life - people come and people go.
-
Keisha FIRED
At the end of the day, I don't listen to Three and think 'zomg I miss Siobhan so much!'. I don't listen to Change and miss Mutya. I doubt I'll listen to Sweet 7 2.0 and miss Keisha.

At the end of the day though, were Heidi and Amelle not 'inducted' as Sugababes when they joined (i.e. welcome the new Sugababe, Heidi!) - so really, there are two (now three) Sugababes (remaining)? If we were expected to accept that the Sugababes were still 'Sugababes' when Heidi joined, what's so different about this new lineup? Apparently Heidi acceptably filled the place of Siobhan, so from that day on the standard was set - all new Suga's were 100% Sugababes. Original or not, these girls ARE Sugababes, as Heidi and Amelle were accepted. If that makes sense. & yeah, Amelle is the prettiest 'babe.

LOL at one of the comments: I'ma let you finish, but Girls Aloud are one of the best pop groups of alllll tiiiime!

Jade Ewen - 'My Man'
omg  I proper hate the Sugababes *vommm* Although - it was always Mutya and Keisha that put me off - Amelle, Jade and Heidi sure sounds like a hella talented lineup, and a band I'd like if they were brand new. Wonder if I'm about to buy my first Sugababes album in years?! Still sad for Keisha if she was forced to leave a band she's worked on for the best part of 10 years of course... edit: anyone know if My Man is any higher? :kink:
