Songs That Have Been Number One More Than Once
Enya's song Boadicea was Number 1 twice (albeit sampled) on Mario Winans' 'I Don't Wanna Know', and The Fugess' 'Ready or Not' ... not sure if this qualifies as a song being number 1 twice though

Songs That Have Been Number One More Than Once
F*ck It ---- F.U.R.B. ... I think these should be added

HATE CHART 2014
I based mine on Hate, rather than on the songs which I actually think were the worst... there were worse than the below mentioned, yet somehow didn't bother me, as they weren't as played as the ones I listed... The worst thing about a 'Hated' song, is that occasionally, I wake up and with one of these bloody song in my mind, tormenting me for a whole day :drama: Enrique Iglesias Ft. Pitbull - I'm A Freak Taylor Swift - Shake It Off Aloe Blacc - The Man The Chainsmokers #SELFIE Zedd feat. Hayley Williams Stay The Night

Artists you love that never really 'happened'
Some examples though not very recent Speaking for the UK, I am surprised that Modern Talking never did anything over there. They are absolutely huge where I live (Malta) despite them being German, and had extremely catchy songs in the 80's and late 90's/early 2000's. Another one is Gigi D'Agostino... L'Amour Toujours, La Passion, The Riddle, Elisir, Bla Bla Bla, Another Way ... Don't know whether they were simply never released, or if they just failed to chart. Ultimately before Counting Stars came around, I would have mentioned One Republic... Many of their songs post-Apologize are a masterpiece, and IMO far better than CS

Songs that sound like desperate attempts to get a hit
THIS ... If I am not mistaken, apart from Tina Turner (When The Heartache Is Over), even Diana Ross (Not Over You Yet) and Lionel Ritchie (Angel) tried the same formula shortly after Many recent attempts of artists trying to get a hit comes to mind... just flash plenty of skin, bootie, or use random brass instruments as a hook, and voila'

Collaborations with more than one Top3/5/10 hits
As next Sunday, Eminem & Rihanna will more than likely make it to the Top 3 for the 2nd time. Were there any other instances where 2 seperately known acts collaborated and scored more than 1 Top 3/5/10 hits with the exact same formation? I would exclude duos who are just/better well-known as being duets (example; Macklemore/Ryan Lewis, Robson/Jerome, Sonny/Cher, Nicole/Pussycat Dolls, etc) Coming to mind is Elton John & Kiki-Dee 'Don't go breaking my heart' and 'True Love'. No.1 and No.2 respectively? I am sure there will be many more, especially from the hip-hop scene., though most coming to mind, did not have the same exact formation.

Covers more well known than the originals
Thanks for clarifying this... Never suspected what the original might actually sound like, although quite surprisingly it feels that I've heard the Maggie version before!
-
Covers more well known than the originals
Coolio's Gangsta's Paradise sampled heavily Pastime Paradise of Stevie Wonder, yet few know the original even exists Everytime we touch by Cascada, copied the song of the same name originally* by Tixiana in 2001 (* not sure whether Tixiana's is the original, or if there was another before it) The Great Pretender by Queen, original by The Platters ... though maybe this is 50/50, in terms of people knowing, but I do hear Queen's version more often than the original Just a sample, but given it's popularity, very few people know Beyonce's Crazy in love samples THAT horn hook from Chi-Lites' "Are you my woman" Too many to mention; Elvis songs!

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 19th May 2013
I am Maltese, and can confirm that we have never had proper local artists charting in the UK ... but apart from Sharleen Spiteri who is of Maltese descent, Baby D got us closest being half-Maltese and half-Jamaican, and Sister-2-Sister's parents are Maltese  Not sure if the latter had any success in the UK though. But this tops them all (Taken from The Times 2008) The Times of London has traced Britney Spears' ancestry and it emerged that her great-great-grandfather, Edward Richard Portelli, was born in Malta circa 1873. :P
