Havana (feat. Young Thug) | 1st single
I'm almost certain Camila will be on X Factor, Crying In The Club owes a decent amount of its success to the BGT performance getting it off to a great start I think!
-
Anne-Marie - Heavy
This has a really nice vibe but the verses and choruses completely blend into one at the moment, I think it’ll be a grower!
-
Demi Lovato - Tell Me You Love Me
Sexy Dirty Love is THAT pure pop bop (out as instant grat)

The X Factor ● Series 14
I would love to have done but I can barely remember any of it now as it was several weeks ago, if you have any questions about any groups in particular though then feel free to ask in the spoilers thread as it may jog my memory!

I think the record label switch is what's going to prevent that happening, otherwise it wouldn't have been beyond the realms of possibility. The obvious comparison is when 'Skyscraper' received a massive X Factor boost in 2013 over a good couple of weeks of shows and Demi's label did apparently "re-release" it as a single here around October-time although it gained no additional traction. At the time, Made in the USA had been and gone, her version of Let It Go was being unexpectedly overshadowed by Idina's, and Neon Lights wasn't to arrive here until the following year. Demi's UK label had actually tagged on Skyscraper and Give Your Heart a Break onto Demi as this was her first proper album release in the UK despite it being her fourth album. We didn't get the Unbroken album (and the original Skyscraper release) until almost a year after it was released everywhere else. Therefore there was a lucky bit of foreshadowing! Strangely enough though, HMV where I work (and I imagine other HMV stores that are of a smaller size like us as its all controlled internally) have Unbroken as permanent stock but not Demi. You'd think it'd be the other way around considering the UK version of Demi has all the big hits on.

Fair enough I apologise too, it seemed like you were referring to me as "people" whereas you could've always just asked me directly! I won't say no to getting another opportunity to loon over Hailee :heehee:

A little announcement...
Hello guys! So today I have taken the difficult decision to step down as BJSC moderator. I've been very aware that my activity levels in the past few months in particular have been lower than I think they should be, and this is a result of both a slight decline in interest as well as a recent substantial increase in hours in my job! I've always said that as soon as I know I'm no longer the best person for a moderating job and have given everything I can then I'm not going to hang on to a position for the fun of it. I said exactly the same thing with the Pop forum a couple of years ago and now it is time to do the same thing here. With having less free time I have had to decide which of my online duties I wish to continue with, and my focus has to be on my work with ESCXTRA.com which many of you will know I became a part of this time last year. My activity has also been slipping substantially in the Eurovision forum but I hope that by stepping down here, this will allow me to spend a little bit more time in there with the added advantage of that having a significant overlap with my aforementioned ESCXTRA work! Of course, I'll keep a close eye on my activity and if I realise its time to leave there too then so be it... we shall wait and see! So yes, I've been a moderator here for just over two years which has absolutely flown by! With the 10th anniversary BJSC celebrations approaching quickly, I wanted to make this decision fairly fast as I know I'm not going to have enough time to contribute as much as I would want to and would need to. In addition, I feel the spin-off forum is slipping slightly in momentum too due to a lack of time for me to give input, so I think it's the perfect time for a new lease of life in there. The spin-off forum was definitely my baby and I'm proud that it has become a hive of activity (up until the last month or so at least!). I'm sure there will be a further announcement in the coming days as to who will be my replacement. Finally, I want to thank everyone who was involved in giving me this opportunity that I'd wanted for so many years. I still have the good news PM from Phil in July 2015 saved firmly in my inbox! I know it was considered a big risk to take me on, but I think it was one that paid off. BJSC as a whole, both main contests and spin-offs, seems to be in a stronger place than when I joined as a moderator. In fact, it's perhaps the strongest I've seen it in my six years here. There's so many exciting things coming, I can't wait to see the culmination of lots of hard work behind the scenes! Of course I will be staying around to participate in the contest for the foreseeable future, I have to get that elusive victory! Thank you all, Ryan! http://24.media.tumblr.com/b6ab4e6aec797d7be06489aa5c8e8dd0/tumblr_mp756470uC1rzih3zo1_500.gif

I'm sure Megan's success is genuine, I imagine she only needed 10k of her 600k+ Twitter following to download the tracks to get her to a comfortable #1 for a day or two.

Una Healy - In Case You Didn't Know
They are both on Spotify and Apple Music, try searching the full song title! Love this collaboration, and it could be a great move for Una and Brett to get that R2 airplay.

I'm surprised by Kelly, I thought she'd have at least a Demi/Selena-esque start (in and around #20) but coming nowhere near that it seems.

Megan McKenna - High Heeled Shoes
She's filming a music video today!
-
ZAYN feat. Sia - Dusk Till Dawn
This is decent on first listen but it's easily going to be a massive hit! I've never really been a fan of ZAYN's solo stuff, only I Don't Wanna Live Forever but this is definitely one of his best.
-
Hailee Steinfeld & Alesso - Let Me Go
She's done it again, another great single! I think the weakest part is the "drop", but it is the perfect follow-up to Starving as its a similar sound but also different enough. I'm not sure if its a hit in 2017, but it has more potential than Most Girls (and that did pretty well anyway!) (I'm not sure what Watt does, but Florida Georgia Line's contribution is short but sweet)
