Interesting discussion on ATRL, why did Simon/Syco choose Little Mix for this over Fifth Harmony? Fifth Harmony have Spanish speakers amongst them, they are probably just a bigger name worldwide thanks to having a couple of massive hits and are American like some of CNCO. They would seem a more natural choice if Syco wanted this to go into all English-speaking territories including the USA. On the other hand Little Mix seem to be at the peak of their career while Fifth Harmony are on the decline and are a very safe bet for a certain UK hit whereas Fifth Harmony could fly under the radar everywhere and seem very out of favour at Epic/Syco. Is the primary goal of this to break CNCO into the UK, break CNCO into all major English-speaking territories, break Little Mix into Latin America, break Little Mix into the US or just to cash-in on the Latin trend that is brand new for the UK (most countries had Bailamos the other year which the UK didn't click with). It's interesting. I feel like this will do the first of those and potentially break CNCO into the UK, I can't see the US latching onto this as they might have done with a Fifth Harmony remix. This isn't to pit the bands against each other, but it's intriguing to wonder why Syco/Sony/Simon went with one over the other.

He's actually doinf much better worldwide than here, aside from Australia and New Zealand who haven't woken up yet, Friends is performing worst in the UK of all major territories at the moment.

I imagine Little Mix will be near the top of ours, there's different New Music Friday playlists for each major territory!

I didn't want to like it (can't be here for another 10 week #1) but I do like it. I was expecting some tired Chainsmokers-esque song, but it reminds of Style/Your Type/Cheyenne which of course is a sound I love. I think I'd prefer someone else singing it, but it's another solid song from Justin. Although... judging by the chart performances of those three I do think this won't be quite as successful as his three mega hits from last era. So a win win! Good song but not going to stop the likes of Taylor from getting to #1 in a couple of weeks.

TROPICAL!! It's exactly what you'd expect from a Rachel Platten song put through a tropical-pop production machine. Big chorus, tropical-pop instrumental post-chorus with "here i gos" over the top. Then a massive clappy middle 8 to top it off! All quite formulaic but it's still a fab pop tune.

It's really really well done, you can tell they've put a lot of effort into this rather than just a last minute Little Mix tag on to latch into the Latin craze before Summer ends. I think this is going to #1 personally (potentially the week after Bieber), I think this track will be higher than Bieber on iTunes by this time next week.

We never had a separate Cheryl forum as well as a Girls Aloud one despite her being the UK's biggest female artist for years, it just seems strange that all other group AFs contain their solo careers once one leaves (Zayn) or they all split up but Robbie and Take That are separate considering they even did an album together again a few years ago. As Iz says, I suppose a Beyoncé could be done here and just have a Robbie forum while the other members/remains of the group are banished to Pop but it seems like a natural merger considering their overlapping careers.

Homesick duet with Chris Martin on X Factor is the only worthwhile option for me, if that isn't possible then a remix of either Begging or Last Dance will have to do. She needs to start a new era by late Spring next year though in my opinion, she can't waste the momentum.

I'm not sure Jemma is anywhere near Helen levels yet, she's more Farrah-esque for me in terms of villainy and she just managed to stay on the right side of nastiness. Whereas Helen never had a good point despite being alwaysintheright, I do find myself agreeing with Jemma on occasions even if she goes about it all the wrong way. Although perhaps the fact I had a low opinion of Jemma before this (from what I've read people say about her) and a high opinion of Sarah has meant that Jemma seems better and Sarah seems worse than I expected. That said, I do think the popularity she now knows she has could tip her over the edge - she needs to play it carefully and see how quickly Sarah fell from grace.

I agree with Nelly to an extent really, I find it near impossible to support Sarah now. I'm glad Jemma stayed, not because she's lovely but she's needed in the house to keep the drama.

I saw the results all in the space of 5 minutes last night in the staff forum as we were getting organised for the hosting switch, I added up my points as I read through all of the PMs in quick succession hoping that I'd get around the 300 point barrier as I knew that'd mean I had a chance. Knowing after reading all the PMs I'd got just over 300 points and opened the spreadsheet, hoping it might have been enough but Quintessa had stormed ahead! Congratulations Leonardo, a dominant victory! I'm glad I didn't have to suffer through tonight's result show in terms of leading at various points, being in contention until 10 or so votes from the end - I think I'd have had a breakdown following it in real time! :lol: Great hosting from Yu, Joseph and Leww and thank you to everyone who sent votes for Ramrynia. :heart: I believe we got the most set of votes of all, potentially a first for me, and I also broke the 300 points barrier for the first time ever! A 7th podium finish in the main contest now, one day it'll be a top of the podium finish I hope - I say this everytime! :heehee:

Breaking news that Taylor has won her trial and has been awarded her $1! Of course the verdict is so much more important than that, and amazing from Taylor and her family and lawyers to get the justice they deserve. :cheer:

She definitely would in the US, not as convinced internationally. I think giving Justin a week of breathing space is all she'd need to be safe internationally though! I'm feeling some sort of surprise teaser during the VMAs with a release following on Sept 1st.

So I've come up with some hypothetical predictions here, no idea what they would add up to until I finished them... So judging by Kworb, P!nk might be able to manage around double the sales of Despacito. Based on last week's sales, this would put her around the 35k sales mark. Streaming-wise, she will be hit by the slow start (even though its fast in terms of a new release) and I'm predicting she'll hit around 1 million streams for the week (which is what #25~ on Spotify would typically get which I think is about what she'll average out at, lower at the beginning of the week e.g. now but higher by the end of the week) which gives her 6.7k sales units. TOTAL: 41.7k I think Dua will be around 0.9 at least by the end of the week on Kworb, so if we take a hypothetical week average I think we're looking at 0.7. That's 24.5k sales. She's going to be looking at 2.6 million streams for the week, which will equal 17.3k sales. TOTAL: 41.8k I promise that wasn't planned! :lol: But I think that's being more optimistic for P!nk than it is for Dua, assuming P!nk will pick up streams very quickly and will stay at iTunes #1 for the entire week. So I think Dua has it in the bag!
