Oh sure, it's why albums are more likely released as an 'excuse' to tour now rather than a tour being undertaken to garner more sales of it's accompanying album. Madonna almost certainly has touring in mind when she records albums now - it's a necessary evil as I would guess she'd rather not bother. Touring is clearly THE main source of income for many acts now without a doubt

Remember those are gross figures though, we have no idea what the net profit is from any tour really as only gross is quoted

He means the record company won't make any money from the tour as they won't have any financial interest in it (unless they've done some deal with Kylie's management)
