I would love for Ariana to finally hold top 10 and the Ronettes to make top 20! Stick Season has indeed really stuck around through December, with the Christmas songs about to fade away and his physicals coming out on the 5th it would be nice if he got a few weeks at number 1.

Welcome To New York (Taylor's Version) Although I have been listening to a lot of Evermore the last few weeks since it feels like the season for it, I will need to look at my Last.fm at the end of the year to see where the numbers land by the end of December.
  3. That was quite the ordeal! After waiting in the lounge for 40 minutes the server threw me out. I gave up but then decided to try going on my phone and got through instantly and managed to get to seated tickets for Glasgow.

Nothing like OCC clarity and consistency!

The new rules for the singles chart published in August didn't include casettes on the list of eligible formats. So I would have said that was right, however Billie Eilish and Dupa Lipa's casettes were clearly counted on each of their weeks at number 1 in August (which also came after the new rules were published) so who knows.
  6. Maybe she's saving the fifth one that's not named for an announcement and music video?

It's very unique in that it's a two minute long instrumental. It became very popular on Tik Tok and charted in the top 100 as a result.

It now appears the restock has now sold out as well, I wonder how many copies have been produced. Due to them not being shipped until Thursday we'll need until after the chart is published to find out!

I agree, it definitely looks like the trend the last few weeks is that Dua has been catching up and is due to overtake on streaming this week or maybe next. In saying that, if the casettes nudge Billie to number 1 on Friday the publicity could hypothetically give her a small boost on streaming. Since her and Dua are so close it could make the difference next week.

  12. I think so! I got a code for Tickemaster and my friend got one for AXS, I went in 30 mintues early and she 5 mintues early. She got the tickets in 6 mintues when I still had a few thousand in front of me in my queue.
  13. Although recent events certainly won't have helped, to be honest I 100% believe she was sincere she is resigning for personal reasons. After eight years in the top job (and seven before that as deputy first minister) she probably is just totally burnt out at this point and figured she would go now while she is still relatively popular. The question is what happens now with no obvious successor. I imagine there will be plenty of candidates, many of who will be relative unknowns. It will be a genuinely interesting contest to watch. The SNP certainly has internal factions, pobably most notably in the last few years along gender self ID lines but also radical/gradual independence strategy and the more classic typical left/centrist/right as well. Depending on which candidates stand and are accepted it could be quite a divisive contest.
  14. Dear Readee felt like the obvious choice here since I don't dislike it but it's probably the worst. It was far harder to choose the second one but I decided on Hits Different for not being available for most people (I've only managed to hear sped up versions so I don't know what it really sounds like!).
  15. Personally, I don't think any of the songs are bad but I voted for You're On Your Own, Kid (Strings Remix) and Sweet Nothing (Piano Remix) as I don't feel they add much to the album. My last vote was close between Glitch and Dear Reader, I decided to go with the latter as I find it a bit less memorable.

I'm genuinely so interested to see what happens next, will this era bring renewed interest in Sam as an artist and multiple hits or was Unholy just a one off because of Tik Tok.

Yes that's definitely right. I used to listen to it regularly then it disappeared for a long while. I used to check every now and then and was happy to see it come back recently. It's one of my favourite songs from that time so I was happy to see it go Silver here.

I quite liked it the first minute or so, I kept listening expecting an explosive chorus but then it just doesn't go anywhere and the Ed feature really adds nothing. I don't know, overall the whole thing just feels like it doesn't quite fit together which is a bit of a shame honestly.

They really should just delay the CD release to the vinyl shipping by this point, it would make sense now.
  21. Me too. I think it's easy to take streaming for granted now but compared to the download/CD era it's incredible value for money. It might have ruined the charts but for the (legal) access to music and convience I could never go back now.
  22. I'm really enjoying this. As said above, it kind of sounds like a combination of all the different eras to me. I love the way she uses her voice!
  23. I thought the same and was confused, I looked it up and apparently it is a drugs reference!
  24. +3 Olivia Rodrigo - SOUR +2 Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever +1 Taylor Swift - Fearless (Taylor's Version)

But they aren't even doing that, the CDs are due this month and the vinyls in July. Separating the release of all three formats will really impact what chart postion it could have had, although I doubt it will impact its sales overall.
