Nakamura-kun!!) author Syundei closed her X account after being bullied by some Western BL fans over the manga's depiction of "problematic" tropes like a teacher-student relationship and tentacle innuendos, which are actually pretty common in BL. I'm not really into Yaoi myself, but it's rather disappointing to see an author get this kind of backlash just because people are only now realizing these tropes exist in Asian gay fiction.
