Jadaver

Those are quite possibly my favourite Adele and Jessie Ware songs! Happy the FROOT era is getting some representation for MARINA too.

Wow what a spread out round!

Fab - I know what my 11 will be but better get thinking about the rest.

'Nicole Kidman' is up to #4 on Spotify today!

Her bestie Chelsey is 29 so closer in age to them than her

Maybe if her walk is as supposedly impressive as Robyn Fenty's! Looking forward to the listening session tomorrow

Thanks Rollo, well done for also getting 39 in round 1 yesterday 🥳 today's game: Round 1: 33 (didn't get: Gladys Knight & The Pips, Prefab Sprout) Round 2: 27 (didn't get: New Model Army, Barry White) 3-in-10: 3 (In Bloom, Lithium, Heart Shaped Box)

Oh wow yes I didn't have to wait long for an all-time favourite to turn up 🥰 happy 'Layla' has topped the group for you. My preference is the longer version with the piano solo but the famous guitar riff is a treat in any form. 'Virginia Plain' is a good runner up too, I remember discovering that on a 40th anniversary TOTP DVD which had one representative for each year between 1964 and 2004, so that took the 1972 spot. That DVD had a strong opening '70s run as Roxy Music followed Free's 'All Right Now' and the wonderful 'Get It On' by T. Rex! I find the chart toppers of this era a bit of a slog on the whole but Slade are one of the better acts up there, albeit this particular song isn't their best. Nice to see two Bill Withers songs here! Michael Jackson was such an obvious star even as a kid. Nothing quite beats the original 'Ain't No Sunshine' for me though and 'Lean On Me' is another good'un ❤️

Iglu & Hartly! I seem to remember that song not being on streaming for a while, so I'm glad that's no longer the case.

Congrats blacksquare and welcome to the 3 winners club 🤩🖤 It feels like so long since Persephonia last won, which was during my debut contest over 11 years ago now, so that was a fun narrative to root for but can't knock 'Bésala Mucho' getting there instead, as that's another great winning song this year. Happy 'cherry cola' still did as well as 2nd for Brer, especially after a run of DNQs 🍒 Olivia Rodrigo's album is one of my favourites this year so that brand of pop music clearly appeals to me. Looks like I voted for half of the top 10 this month as POPHub, Aeroche and The Spodic Empire all made the cut too. The latter nation are on a roll right now after getting my 18 last month and more strong points this time. Glad Aeroche recovered well after the shocking scenes of them languishing low. ...the same cannot be said for my own performance but Skall ended my night on a high with that 18 so thank you Harve 😍 and 33rd is a unique position yesssss!! So only 38th and 39th to tick off from the top 40 now, an interesting challenge for next month I have a fuzzy guitar potential, with an appropriate title for Halloween, that might fit the bill. Not me coming 5th in the semi though?! Nice to know I was a lot safer there than anticipated...! Gigi Ros so close to not making it in the other semi Shame to see Zephyra Continuum and New Helvetica in the bottom 10 with me in the final. The latter nation have now matched my first and third results in BJSC *_* which I didn't see coming as I thought 'Ghost Town' would've done better than that, was a really striking version <3 I agree with Chez that the #11-#15 section on the final scoreboard is stacked! Especially pleased to see a new personal best for Herbilore. Thank you Iz for a brilliant hosting job ❤️

Voted for Miley Cyrus feat. Model/Actriz this week 🤩

I can see the Neil Tennant comparison! Some good soundalikes mentioned on the forum recently, with Rollo also pointing out that the vocals of '60s hit 'Winchester Cathedral' by New Vaudeville Band are similar too. Much love for both Blue Lines and Mezzanine 🖤 oh yes, indeed, then 'Vindaloo' too Oh yes, forgot about the Naughty Boy iteration but I'm pretty sure that's the first version I knew, so had to slowly get used to the tempo of the original! Glad you're also a fan of both 'Your Woman' and 'Unfinished Sympathy' 😊

Oops big catch up time - thanks !!!, Brer, Dandy, Jake and especially Mack for a medal

Tonight was incredible TV! I wasn't sure about Jedward coming in, as it felt quite gimmicky and the cast were already delivering on their own, but they turned out to be a necessary catalyst for that final portion and aren't staying too long anyway. They've struck gold with the cast this year

Muchas gracias blacksquare + Mattias for your generous double figures since I last popped in 😍 justice for Deandria this month

Thank you Ansel and Rich since I last commented 💖

So pleased about this strong start for Land of DW so far ❤️ Thanks Wardy, I still need to tick off 33rd, 38th and 39th in the top 40 so here's hoping for one of those if I'm not budging from this zone...

Finally someone who loved my entry enough for double figure points! Thank you Chez ❤️

Great to be included in the host votes so thanks Iz! Not had any double figure points so far but here's hoping some big fans are out there at some point. Aeroche 39th at the moment is wild

Off the top of my head, I gave both Nora En Pure - 'Wetlands' and Keys N Krates - 'Double Dutch' an 18 as well but they must've been at least 5 years ago so it's still been a while *.* this was right up my street with the dark guitar lines and Spanish vocals 🖤 --- Thank James for the points, you can stay <3 justice for Thunder Bae! Edit: thanks Sabrewulf too

pavi briefly rescuing me from that drought <3 thank youuuuu!! 🤩

Thanks Julian for quickly getting me off 0 ❤️

Glad 'Love Me Land' wasn't quite Zara's 'Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)' moment this series then, underrated song from her x Tove's song wasn't bad but didn't really stand out in the field at all. Shame she didn't get to send 'No One Dies From Love' amongst others, although maybe could come back.

The combined '80s synth excellence of that post 🖤
