Spotify has updated and 'Where Is Gone?' has climbed 13 places back up to #63 even pre-album impact, looking forward to tomorrow's chart

Justice feat. Tame Impala, SZA & King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Flower in a Hurricane
Oh that 'Money for Nothing' comparison is spot on! This is lush 🤩 rooting for Justice to get their first U.K. top 40 hit in 20 years (if this happens then King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard would've been the last act I expected to achieve a top 40 hit this year lmao, especially as their stuff is usually not on Spotify these days)

The BuzzJack Friday Chart Show Thread: 16th October 2026
Afternoon all I assume it's way too soon for 'Where Is Gone?' to impact so will patiently wait for it to hopefully arrive next week for Fontaines/ROSALÍA. Looking forward to Olivia's 'expectations' presumably making it (I wonder if they'll jump straight to playing the Chappell version today if so) and seeing where 'Stop The Wedding!' ends up, that is getting better and better for me each week. My top 3 songs from the throwback top 10 charts: 2025 01 Taylor Swift - The Fate Of Ophelia 02 sombr - 12 to 12 03 Olivia Dean - Man I Need 2021 01 Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever 02 Lil Nas X - INDUSTRY BABY (feat. Jack Harlow) 03 Elton John & Dua Lipa - Cold Heart 2016 01 The Weeknd - Starboy (feat. Daft Punk) 02 Bruno Mars - 24k Magic 03 Major Lazer - Cold Water (feat. Justin Bieber & MØ) 2011 01 Rihanna - We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris) 02 Christina Perri - Jar of Hearts 03 Ed Sheeran - The A Team 2006 01 My Chemical Romance - Welcome to the Black Parade 02 The Killers - When You Were Young 03 Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancin' 2001 01 Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out Of My Head 02 Mary J. Blige - Family Affair 03 Linkin Park - In The End 1996 01 The Chemical Brothers - Setting Sun 02 Blackstreet - No Diggity (feat. Dr Dre) 03 Donna Lewis - I Love You Always Forever 20 years since 'Welcome to the Black Parade' got to #1 what a unique chart topper.

Sophia Stel - the greatest album of all time
Need a certificate with "I just listened to the greatest album of all time" on it x I'm with you guys as 'Like a Kite' and 'I'll Walk' definitely stood out as first listen faves 🤩 was not expecting those strings on the latter!! The yearning and production quirks on 'Better Believe It' also particularly scratched an itch in my brain Loved the vocal stacking on 'Wedding Song' too ...but it's all so good really, v impressed <3 it has its referential points yet feels very fresh at the same time indeed
-
Round 1 : End Of Year Survivor #155
Surprised I'm not targeting the Hoff first but when that D12 thing is there... yeah.
-
Fontaines D.C. - Dopamine Chamber
Wow this album is fantastic! I love the generally dark, enticing, often cinematic direction they've gone for this time. I was excited to hear 'Six Shot Morning' following live performances of it and that did not disappoint as an opener <3 really loved that and 'Mimesis' from the front half, the bass on the latter is very New Order. I didn't think it was possible for me to adore 'Where Is Gone?' even more than I already do but it really shines in the context of the album. The second half is so strong that I'm not even too mad about 'Japan' getting the focus track push over Fontalía. 'Intimate'... whew what a closer. Glad they're so popular now that some of these tracks will actually be in the top 40 🤩

PopMaster & Ten To The Top II
Yay well done John and Rollo for your 39 scores yesterday 🥳 today's game: Round 1: 30 (didn't get: Roger Daltrey, 1987 - one year out) Round 2: 36 (didn't get: Breed) 3-in-10: 2 (The Power of Love, Hip to Be Square) 'True Faith' played in between rounds 🥰

Angèle - INSTINCT
All of the collabs on this album living up to my expectations 'Trop' w/ Soulwax is massive!!

Jade's top 10 songs of each decade: 1960s - 2020s (so far!)
I know you're usually into 20th century music so I'll take it as an achievement that you felt engaged for the whole countdown! Thank you so much for the kind words and 'Enjoy The Silence' is an excellent choice. 🖤 Haha well remembered I'd definitely recommend the new Working Men's Club single 'Devout' btw if you haven't got around to it yet <3 and I know right?! I honestly have no idea what I was thinking at first as it's right up my street with those trip-hop sounds you alluded to. But yeah, saw the light and am judging my past self x 'Welcome to My Island' is still an excellent choice of favourite and definitely next in line for me <3 I associate you with 'Sunset' too which is very charming. Bring on the next album indeed! Her excellent feature on Angèle's new album has me craving new music in addition to revisiting 'Billions' for this countdown. Oh yeah, I think 'Good Days' came up on SyncTube for some reason so you might have heard it there. What a stunner <3 I felt really similar about Addison, especially after not really getting into an earlier song 'I got it bad' when it was in BJSC, but she's truly carved out a wonderful lane. She seems to have great, unexpectedly left-field taste, citing Arca as a favourite artist even quite a few years ago, plus Charli xcx singing her praises was always a good sign. But yeah, colour me pleasantly surprised too and I look forward to the direction of her next era. I agree that Dua and The Weeknd really lead the way for that '80s synth revival, which I was all for, until it naturally got a bit oversaturated. I feel similar to you re. both Twigs and Metric! I was quite bad at seeking out new albums in the past anyway, pre-2020s, but am glad I changed my ways in time for Eusexua as it's a heavenly project. Pleased 'Retributions Of An Awful Life' got you on board with Heartworms. I was surprised by how much I got into my screamy Nuggets entry by her but can understand why that might have not been the most accessible entry point. But yeah, 'Retributions Of An Awful Life' was the perfect follow-up and I eagerly await any future material of that ilk. 🥰 love your love for 'The Last Man On Earth'. "Instantly besotted" sums up my own feelings perfectly too. It's usually me putting my brother onto new music but he was actually a bit ahead of me with Wolf Alice, after seeing them live as a support for Liam Gallagher. So they slowly trickled into my life but 'The Last Man On Earth' similarly turned me into a proper fan. I then went back and checked out their earlier albums and fell in love with those projects. I agree the new album was a step down from Blue Weekend, especially after the quirky 'Bloom Baby Bloom' was quite an unrepresentative lead in the end, although I do have such a soft spot for 'The Sofa'. Looking forward to seeing where they go next. That is a fantastic choice of #1 if I say so myself xx Wonderful to see 'Nettles' in your top 10 already, that was a painful final cut :'( and 'Good Luck, Babe!' really got me into Chappell after not pointing any of her BJSC qualifiers pre-breakthrough. Ready for more Chappell music especially after hearing her new feature on Olivia Rodrigo's 'expectations' this morning, what a star. Just realised 'Nettles' and 'Good Luck, Babe!' both finished at #2 in my EOY countdowns for 2024 and 2025 at the time, even if they didn't quite make it here. 'Blinding Lights' was a welcome behemoth, 'Go Dig My Grave' is striking, love a bit of Night Tapes, 'Screamland' was a fab Terra winner (his 'Chateau Lobby #4' came on shuffle for me yesterday, which may have some of the most romantic lyrics I've ever heard) and I definitely associate 'Wild God' with you. I remember the Highisakite and Lawrence songs existing in song contests but can't immediately recall them, so will make sure to revisit. 6Music has been such a revelation for me this decade as well. You getting into ROSALÍA is a delight for me as a long time stan 🤩 I didn't even have to nominate 'MALAMENTE' in ROTD this year with you doing the honours, taste <3 'Berghain' floored me, moments like that going top 40 is why I still love following the charts, even if I rarely have more than a few top 40 hits in my own personal chart at one time (right now it's just Fontaines D.C.'s 'Marianne' and Ashe's 'Stop The Wedding!') ~ hooray for LUX being such a critical and commercial moment for her. She does feel like a glaring omission here, but yeah, El Mal Querer was my favourite album of 2018, MOTOMAMI for 2022 and LUX for 2025, so she would undoubtably dominate an albums list - an incredible artist. Ahhhhh thank you so much for the appreciative words ❤️ I managed to somehow unlock a powerful, sustained state of hyper-focus and I think sticking to a schedule, with two days off each week also worked wonders for recharging. I'll look out for a potential return of that then ;o but if not then I suppose it's EOY season in a couple of months... *.* Thanks Julian *.* No worries, I do feel like there's so much going on across the forum right now! Which is certainly not a bad thing, love a thriving BuzzJack, but a bit overwhelming oooooh okay, well I hope you make a good discovery or two out of that then <3

Here's hoping for the most exciting chart week in a while with Olivia Rodrigo feat. Chappell Roan, Tate McRae, Justice feat. Tame Impala, SZA & King Gizzard, Zach Bryan feat. Lana Del Rey and a Fontaines album bomb all having the potential to impact.

Olivia Rodrigo & Chappell Roan - expectations
What a year for fun female collab videos with ‘Stateside’ and now this! Loved the David Byrne cameo too. Chappell fits great, ready for this to be a huge #1.

The Pop Factor: Season 3 • The Six Chair Challenge in Szczecin
Oh wow just caught up I wondered if Gary would be allowed to send a Tubeway Army song so that answers that question! That's one of my all-time favourite songs so would've easily topped my public vote here.
-
Jester ranks the 2014 number 1s
Oops didn't realise how behind I was! I quite liked 'I Will Never Let You Down' at the time but I haven't really gone back to it much in subsequent years, it's alright. I can't stand 'Bang Bang' though! Every aspect of it is a total racket. The OCC never seem to include it in Ariana's best-selling lists due to her feature being credited as just 'Grande' in their database. I'm not keen on 'The Man' either, pretty corny and what a non-#1 after genuinely impactful moments in 'I Need A Dollar' and 'Wake Me Up'. 'Thinking Out Loud' is cheesy as well although has a timeless sound. I loved 'She Looks So Perfect' at the time, I think it came at a point when I was feeling nostalgic for pop-punk. The lyrics have not aged well for me but I can still appreciate its sound. That interlude section 'Midnight' is one of my favourite Coldplay songs nowadays.

My record of the week 60 years ago
'No Milk Today' is such an earworm! I remember discovering that when I trawled through the '60s charts for the first time as a teenager and it left an instant impression on me. I appreciate the ominous edge to it despite an infectious melody. That would also be my winner for that group although 'I Can't Control Myself' is great too. Oh 'Reach Out (I'll Be There)' is phenomenal, one of the all-time great Motown songs. I love the general sense of urgency achieved with those passionate vocals and the galloping production you pointed out. 'Stop Stop Stop' also stands out for me in that group!
