Lana Del Rey - The Right Person Will Stay
Lana's U.K. and Ireland support acts have been announced as Addison Rae, BANKS and London Grammar! not sure my excitement levels can cope with Lana and Addison on the same day x

Addison Rae - Addison
OMG Addison is supporting Lana on her Wembley Stadium dates so I do get to see her after all !!! 😭 Best silver lining of having to wait 5 years to see Lana after she cancelled in 2020 🥹

Modjo is my favourite to drop out today so far ❤️ it's overplayed for sure yet the charms of its French house grooves and warm lyrics still haven't waned for me. It's one of those dance songs like 'Lola's Theme' that particularly shines on a hot summer day. Better get it on the barbecue playlist in a couple of hours! 'Can't Fight The Moonlight' is a strong pop moment also. It was interesting to read your insight on how you expected the chart to pan out that week!

Top 100 Best Selling Singles Acts Of The 80s
I've not heard a Kim Wilde album before but adore 'Cambodia' and of course 'Kids in America' is a synth-pop classic and part of a strong run of #2s at the time. My favourite from Eurythmics is probably 'Here Comes the Rain Again'. I always forget that it wasn't a massive top 5 hit at the time.

The Pop Factor: Season 1 • The Power of The Golden Wagner
Will the winning Golden Wagner song also be part of the first Live Show line up or will that act wait until the second Live Show to send another song?

'The Masses Against The Classes' (omg I totally hear the Bob the Builder intro as well) and 'Rock DJ' are my favourites to drop out since I last commented. Not sure if you've seen Better Man but I ended up watching it with my family and the 'Rock DJ' scene was easily the most impressive of the movie for me. Particularly rooting for All Saints, Eminem ('Stan'), Fragma, Sonique and Spiller from what is left *.*

Julian rates every 21st century Top 40 hit
Week 48: Spooky that 'Rhinestone Cowboy (Giddy Up Giddy Up)' was just added to Spotify, as Rich pointed out what an abysmal version haha. I don't think I've heard that pronunciation of 'do-si-do' before. I'm slowly finding out about all of Daz's projects, from Bus Stop to this and have concluded that the Uniting Nations stuff is most enjoyable for me, even if nothing groundbreaking. I'm generally a fan of Mariah but 'Through The Rain' is a total snoozer, very talent show winner. Agreed that her vocal performance is well paced at least. I can see why S Club's team would want to recreate 'Don't Stop Movin', a commercial and critical home run for them, but 'Alive' feels so undercooked in comparison. "Fa shizzle dizzle, it's the big Neptizzle, with the Snoopy D-O-Double Gizzle" - well that peaked with the intro! I think 'Jenny From the Block' was the first JLo song I came across, good shout as a signature song. The optics do feel a bit laughable, much like 'Love Don't Cost A Thing' being sung in a mansion, but agreed that the instrumental is a highlight, especially those flutes. Röyksopp a class act as ever 💖 I like the tender lyrics of 'Poor Leno' and their electronic production style is stunning.

Radical Optimism Tour
The pop up shop looked really cool as well <3 I saw a video of it on the Official U.K. Charts account and you could listen to her album on several different formats from vinyl to cassette player, they were making drinks, merch was available, also a table with some of Dua's book club recommendations and she turned up for a visit!

Jade's Top 40 | #429 (19.06.25)
Hi Sergej! It's not the easiest listen, as quite an emotional 8 minute long song (but totally beautiful all the same), so was pleasantly surprised that it showed up in the Spotify chart. She's clearly cultivated a strong fanbase <3 thank you for commenting 💗

Top 100 Best Selling Singles Acts Of The 80s
Oh some great acts dropping out recently with the likes of OMD, Soft Cell, Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys! Agreed that 'Enola Gay' is a stone cold classic. Same with 'Tainted Love' which has transitioned into the streaming era really well with over 1 billion plays on Spotify. That and also Pet Shop Boys' take on 'Always On My Mind' are two of my most loved cover versions. Violator is my favourite period from Depeche Mode which is more 90s release-wise but still straddles the 80s thanks to 'Personal Jesus'. I haven't seen many '80s acts' live but Pet Shop Boys are an exception as they supported Take That on their mammoth Progress tour, which I attended with my family as a teenager. I was drawn in by the synths but have come to appreciate their lyrical content more and more too as I've gotten older.

Hi Piran, hope you're having a good weekend so far :D Nice to see 'twilight zone' still doing so well here. I saw that Ari's team is now releasing vinyl, CDs and cassettes for it - better late than never! 'Good Luck, Babe!' is my favourite from your flashback chart, pop perfection 💗

gooddelta ranks the UK No.1s of 2000
Happy to see 'Kernkraft 400' within your podium of 2000 #2s! I think I'd have 'Movin' Too Fast' and 'Sky' a bit higher but generally sharing a lot of favourites there. Need to know if 8th for 'Out Of Your Mind' is satisfactory enough for Michael x

'Don't Give Up' is my favourite since I last commented! I'm a sucker for Chicane's production style and also enjoy the robotic vocal processing choice in contrast to the optimistic lyrics. That and the music video give it this intriguing dystopian duality. Something I'm less positive about however... is Zombie Nation being blocked by Westlife/Mariah!

90s Top 10 Sales- Week by Week- 1998
I was late to 'No Surprises' / OK Computer in general but was utterly mesmerised by the song and its claustrophobic video when I finally got around to it. It's definitely my favourite Radiohead song now I've become more acquainted with their discography I was delighted to see it sneaking into the Spotify top 200 for the first time recently on top of 'Let Down's sudden TikTok popularity. 'All Around The World' feels like Oasis in their ultimate Beatles pastiche mode. The music video for it was aired on TOTP tonight and the psychedelic visuals screamed Yellow Submarine movie while the song itself feels like them trying to create a 'Hey Jude' moment but it not quite scaling those heights. I don't dislike it or anything but they have far more organically anthemic songs. I think it was mentioned in the second TOTP episode that 'Never Ever' had now crossed a million! We've finally shaken off the 'Barbie Girl' and 'Torn' plays but 'Angels' and 'Never Ever' still here to stay haha.

Julian rates every 21st century Top 40 hit
Week 47: I'm not too keen on 'Freak Me' anyway but that Blazin' Squad thing is a new low, quickly realising I'm not a fan of them in general I do like a bit of 'Shake Ur Body' but agree that 'Don't Wanna Know' is a diminishing return unfortunately. The flute is the highlight of 'Happy' indeed. 'Foolish' has a standout instrumental as well, with the piano loop, but had a bit more to it than this one for me on the whole. I grew up with a brother who spammed Tenacious D so I recognise 'Wonderboy' but didn't realise it was a top 40 hit, oh my! In the past 'Come Into My World' got a bit left behind for me, as a less punchy fourth single than its predecessors, but I revisited it recently when putting together a Kylie playlist and it finally clicked! The instrumental is so pretty with a hypnotic edge, plus I've come to enjoy Kylie's airy delivery on it and the escapism of the lyrics. 'Objection (Tango)' is an absolute banger from Shakira! Love the mix of tango instrumentation and B-52's-esque surf guitar. 'Stronger' is gorgeous, the girls were still so young but convincingly pulled off a mature ballad. The self-help lyrics still strike a chord and I love the surprisingly left-field elements to the production, like the trip-hop beats and orchestral sounds. I also have a soft spot for 'Angels With Dirty Faces' due to its tie-in with The PowerPuff Girls movie (see: the music video). I recently found this picture of me, aged about 5, in my early 2000s bedroom (that was just about to get a Groovy Chick makeover now I was growing out of the Tweenies years!) proudly displaying my PowerPuff Girls collection: one of the first things I remember being obsessed with. I think that movie was the second film I ever saw in the cinema after Monsters, Inc. I'm not as mad about 'Dirrty' as I once was but it's still fun and I applaud Christina for going with her gut despite the inevitable backlash, I remember reading that she found the experience liberating. I'll always have fond memories of the introvert inside me leaving my body for just a few minutes at a house party dancing away to this song! Oh 'The Scientist' is my favourite Coldplay song and would top this batch for me too, wonderful choice for a 10 I remember reading that Chris was inspired by George Harrison's All Things Must Pass when creating this song so already some fantastic source material. Love the lyrical themes, piano and guitar-driven production and Chris' vocal delivery - particularly the falsetto towards the end. 'The Scientist' is one of a handful of #10 singles that feels a lot bigger than that scrape would suggest. Agreed that the video is a standout in their catalogue too.
