Hi James, welcome back *.* I wasn't 100% sure about 'What Was That' on first listen but it soon clicked, the chorus especially hits. Bring on the album! thank you for commenting 💗

Julian rates every 21st century Top 40 hit
Week 45: Errr what was Tom Jones thinking with that release awful lyrics. A few lacklustre dance covers there with 'Because The Night', 'Take My Breath Away' and 'Holiday'. I hadn't come across this Mad'House release before but wow they recycled the exact same idea of Madonna + 'You See The Trouble With Me' beat again, I think once was definitely enough. DJ Sammy's 'Heaven' runs rings around them all - a genuinely emotive version. The chorus of 'What's Your Flava?' is a bit of an earworm for me but overall it's far from Craig's best work. Something was in the air in 2002 as the only top 75 hits with 'gravy' in the title both came from that year, lol I gave American Life a go for the decade-by-decade Madonna discography rate on here about 5 years ago and 'Die Another Day' ended up being my favourite song on the album. I'm a sucker for electroclash and applaud her for doing something a bit different from what you'd expect for a Bond theme. 'I Am Mine' was a pretty good discovery from this batch! Pearl Jam had strong chart history book-ends with 'Alive' and this one.

Top 100 Best Selling Singles Acts Of The 80s
My favourite Prince song is 'When Doves Cry' and the accompanying Purple Rain project is an all-time favourite, a great decade for him in general 💜 I really like the first two Tears for Fears albums also, not heard any others past that but do enjoy 'Sowing the Seeds of Love' so should probably give #3 a go

The Best Song Contest In The World... Ever! Part X // One Hit Wonders (Results)
Yay congratulations Dan for a first time win in this contest *.* Alphaville got my silver medal so I'm delighted with that winner. Pleased with all the podium in fact. I did hope Helen Reddy could be a dark horse but that wasn't meant to be, glad she was at least top 10. 12th is way better than I was expecting for The Vapors after the SyncTube reaction so will take that! Thank you for a wonderful co-hosting job, Bré and Blobby! I loved the theme and flair throughout.

The Best Song Contest In The World... Ever! Part X // One Hit Wonders (Results)
I checked out the accompanying Alphaville album Forever Young just last year as I wanted to discover more 80s synth-pop albums and it was recommended in a Digital Spy thread all about the topic. I did end up enjoying it and 'Sounds Like A Melody' was one of the songs I saved to my shuffle playlist, so nice pick Dan. Thanks for 5 points also!

The Best Song Contest In The World... Ever! Part X // One Hit Wonders (Results)
Ooh okay my guess of 'Bré or Julian' coming through, I remembered you liking 'In The Year 2525 (Exordium & Terminus)' a lot so thought this would make sense as a Bré entry. Thank you for the points, sorry for not returning any, but this entry was 12th for me so not too far off - the eerie sound of their hit certainly extends to this one too.

Thank you for the points, Bjork! Oh my at The Blobbors. Is this a Blobby tidal wave of songs that can no longer win?
