We haven’t received any veto info yet, awaiting confirmation from the mods but Bré did mention earlier in the thread that there is one veto.

We've decided to postpone the reveal until tomorrow given the Veto situation and so that whoever is getting vetoed still has a chance to resubmit something ^_^

Here's an updated map with all of the unclaimed countries. I have added a few new ones and may add more in the future although currently there's more than enough to grab. We have 40 numbers on here + letters A through Q. If you are new and want to claim a country just say which number/letter you want. Note that the countries with letters [A-Q] are small nations - mostly in the new continent. You are allowed to claim a combination of MAX two nations if you want but they have to be relatively close to each other with at most one other nation in between. If you already have a claimed a country on the map and you want to move your country you can do that as well but then you will be giving up the spot that your country sits in right now.

Loving this countdown so far. Agree with most of the movies I've seen although I'd probably place Those Who Wish Me Dead lower. Also if any of these feature on your list I'd also have cut them a while back so here's some bad movies (and some okay movies with huge flaws) I saw in 2021: Space Jam 2, Halloween Kills*, Venom, Sia's Music, A Quiet Place Part 2*, Sing 2, Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, that movie with KJ Apa about Covid-23 lmao, Army of the Dead, The Tomorrow War*, Everybody's Talking About Jamie * These movies were not necessarily bad but had some huge flaws in the execution. However the only movies I'm TRULY rooting for here (assuming they feature) are Spider-Man: No Way Home, Don't Look Up, Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar, Dune and most importantly (if it didn't feature on your 2020 list) Promising Young Woman which has got to be the best movie I've seen in a LONG time.

Jupiterdonia // Anna Straker - "Break Up Song" It's pop galore in the final so far with Anna as the third pop song to qualify for Jupiterdonia. Hushkanukia// Nadja Holm - "Used To Me" But pop isn't always a guarantee for good success as when there is a lot of solid pop in a semi final, the songs that are perhaps a bit less solid will have to fall to the wayside. Nadja's song is fun and energetic but unfortunately it's a lot more forgettable than the other pop songs in this semi. However, if Hush had wound up in any of the other two semi's I think a wildcard slot would have been quite likely for Nadja. This definitely didn't deserve being SO low in real life but it was never destined to win either. Greenfroze // HYYTS - "SOS" Final DTF of the night is Greenfroze and the brothers in HYYTS with this angsty synthpop gem. D'yermak'er // Kate Nash - "Karaoke Kiss" Rounding out this all-pop post is D'yermak'er and Kate Nash. This was a tough call because again I genuinely enjoyed this but compared to the other pop songs it didn't really stick as well. It feels a bit dated for a 2018 song (would have guessed 2010) but it's cute and definitely not typical in any way. I wanted a bit more of a variety in the upper half though so I decided this song was the one to go. Mulgracia // Roxen & Alexander Rybak - "Wonderland" Eurovision dream team does it for Mulgracia as Roxen's "Wonderland" makes it directly into the final. Tartford // Alex Party - "Wrap Me Up" Another tough cut because I genuinely enjoyed listening to this song and watching the video. This feels very 90's and while sometimes it works in a song's favor I mostly use BJSC to discover new music that I otherwise maybe would not be introduced to. "Wrap Me Up" is a fun ride but it's a product of its' time that is fun for a 90's dance party but I don't think I'd have much more use for it outside of that. Let's get two more qualifiers along with 19th & 18th place. Hendinia // GRACEY - "99%" Hendinia manage to slide through with their infectious pop confection performed by GRACEY. Why So Sirius // Metropole Orkest Cellos - "Beirut" Unfortunately Why So Sirius is another victim of the tough semi final but also hurt by the fact that they wound up in the same semi final as Danæviia thanks to a random luck of the draw. This is the last entry they entered under the Why So Sirius moniker and to be honest something changed in the song selections too as Sovarasma has had some pretty damn big hits for me personally this year so don't expect this to be a recurring theme. Bøtanikkä // GusGus ft. Vök - "Higher" Bøtanikkä's house anthem does indeed manage to qualify to the final. Perhaps to no one's surprise given the ethnicity of its' performers. Séyetana // DEMONDICE - "Alkatraz" Already the hard cuts are starting. I did not expect to enjoy this entry after the first few seconds had passed but somehow I found myself bopping along and enjoying this super quirky Séyetana entry (true to form tho). The style is not something I'm sure how to even categorize but it's very entertaining nonetheless. Sadly for Karen other songs just had a bigger impact on me. Last place has been revealed but how about we liven things up by revealing a qualifier along with 20th place? Note that the qualifier and wildcard results are revealed in no particular order. Danæviia// Worakls & Rusanda Panfili - "Storm" The actual winner of BJSC 131 qualifies directly to the final with this gorgeous 7 minute epic. Elëdan // LiSA - "Gurenge" But unfortunately Elëdan does not manage to do the same. LiSA put up a good fight but as with JPEGMAFIA, I don't think this would have placed quite so low in another semi final. The song itself isn't really my cup of tea but the vocals on this are gorgeous. This being a live version helped a lot but in the end a really strong semi final had the opposite effect on Elëdan's spot in the semi. The results are clear. Six qualifiers and four wildcards have been chosen. It's time to announce the results. Before that I want to explain the points that each of the songs has accumulated here. In true Buzzjack Song Contest fashion I have awarded points to the songs based on my preference for them. These points add up to a total of 1276 points which is the amount 22 nations (21 competitors and 1 auto-qualifier) would give out in total by using the 12-point system. Who gave points to whom will have to remain a mystery though as this is just fantasy and ultimately based on my opinion. :P Anyway, lets start this off by eliminating the song that wound up last place. Republic of Adonia // JPEGMAFIA - "Bald!" In last place is Republic of Adonia. Unfortunately this was the only song I didn't find any kind of attachment towards in the semi final. I didn't dislike it though, it just did nothing for me but I can certainly understand the appeal. I'm not a big rap fan so to some people this will not come as a shock even in the slightest. Unfortunately someone has to end up last but tbh I don't think this would have placed last in the other two semi finals.
