Additionally all of Gagnamagnið are vaccinated so since they tested negative yesterday I'm hopeful that they will still be negative tomorrow! The person who tested positive wasn't part of the act that will be on stage.

Eurovision Song Contest 2021 · Semi Final One
Here's my predictions, split in six categories. Qualifiers and DNQ are those that I would be very surprised if the result was reversed. I have one shock Q and one shock DNQ because lbr there is always one of these. Borderline is really a toss-up but I split them based on how I think it will go at the moment. Qualifiers: Lithuania, Russia, Cyprus, Norway, Ukraine, Malta Shock Qualifier: Slovenia Borderline, lean Q: Croatia, Belgium, Israel Borderline, lean DNQ: Australia, Azerbaijan, Romania Shock DNQ: Sweden DNQ: North Macedonia, Ireland Pains me to predict Romania to DNQ because it's one of my faves of the year but I just don't see it happening. Predicting Sweden to DNQ may be wishful thinking but I think it could get forgotten being so early on and being honestly just rather bland compared to so many of the other songs (as much as I love Tusse as a person). Slovenia as a shock Q may be unlikely but I think the jury could help it get close enough to qualify as Ana is a good vocalist. Could also be N Macedonia instead tbh. Not all female bops will qualify, we know that much so I'm predicting Cyprus and Malta as safe Q's, Croatia and Israel as borderline but likely, Australia, Azerbaijan and Romania as borderline but unlikely and finally Ireland as very unlikely.

The Middle East Today
Personally I just think both Hamas and the Israeli government are self-serving idiots and the innocent people of both nations are suffering for their unwillingness to meet in the middle and find a peaceful compromise. The situation at hand isn’t really the fault to begin with of anyone currently alive as it started a long time ago but these two nations could easily live in peace if there was true will from both sides but any time one of them seems to be ready to call it quits the other one starts firing missiles or murdering innocent teenagers and feeding their civilians propoganda to fuel the hate for the other side. This war needs mediation, compromise from both sides and a realistic end goal, not a victor as we all know how that will end: with further unnecessary civilian deaths on both sides.

Eurovision Song Contest 2021 · Green Room
So the icelandic delegation is confirmed to be fully vaccinated (assuming that includes the infected person) but they have to quarantine for a few days, probably until thursday which means they’ll miss the jury show and possibly live show too. Not sure what effect that may have but they said they’ll probably use their second rehearsal footage and hopefully they qualify and get to perform live on saturday!

Seeing as I struggled to find even 10 songs to vote for in my semi I'm fully expecting to DNQ this month because it seems the other semi is the pop semi so rip me probably

A friend of mine who knows Sigrún from Gagnamagnið said that the six on the stage were all vaccinated before going to Rotterdam but idk how trustworthy of a source “a friend of a friend” is haha.

RUV claim it’s not someone present on stage but this can spiral out of control so fast it’s not a great position to be in. Really hope Daði & co managed to avoid getting infected.

Eurovision Song Contest 2021 - Potential Winners
I'd be obviously very happy with Iceland winning were it to happen :P and if it does happen and any of you make your way here to this little rock make sure to hit me up and I'll show you around! That said I'm not holding out too much hope but I can see it happening if the stars align just right! Switzerland feels like it could work for both viewers and the juries and I can easily see it being a runaway winner. It could also, like some have said, battle for the supposed "french vote" and maybe both could fall short for that reason? Right now we have four songs in the predicted top 10 mostly or fully in another language than English (France, Italy, Switzerland and Ukraine) which has happened before but it's quite rare in the modern era. In the past 10 contests it's only happened twice that there were two (or more) songs in another language in the Top 5. 2016 which had Ukraine and Bulgaria although both were mainly in English and in 2012 we had Russia, Serbia and Albania all in the top 5. 2019 - 2 songs (Italy 2nd, Iceland 10th) 2018 - 2 songs (Italy 5th, Estonia 8th) 2017 - 3 songs (Portugal 1st, Italy 6th, Hungary 8th) 2016 - 3 songs (*Ukraine 1st, *Bulgaria 4th, **France 6th) 2015 - 1 song (Italy 3rd) 2014 - 1 song (*Spain 10th) 2013 - 0 songs 2012 - 6 songs (**Russia 2nd, Serbia 3rd, Albania 5th, Estonia 6th, *Italy 9th, Spain 10th) 2011 - 3 songs (**Italy 2nd, *Bosnia & Herzegovina 6th, *Greece 7th) 2010 - 1 song (**Greece 8th) * These songs were mainly in English but partially in another language. ** These songs were mainly in another language but partially in English.

Eurovision Song Contest 2021 - Potential Winners
Girl, where the f--k were you when you were in Iceland? We have plenty buses here lmao. In a non-Covid economy there are usually around 400 daily flights in/out of Iceland so I don't think we'll have to have people stuck here any longer than they want to lol.

Eurovision Song Contest 2021 - Potential Winners
The Icelandic government has said it many times we'd host the contest if we were to win. There are some potential venues but I think the most likely one would be Egilshöll (has hosted concerts with 18.000 standing and another one with 15.000 sitting), Kórinn (hosted two 19.000 person concerts in 2016 for Justin Bieber) or possibly Laugardalshöllin Arena (hosted IIRC like 30.000 people in 2019 for Ed Sheeran, but it's an outdoor venue so might have to be transformed). But don't worry, Iceland will 150% take the hosting gig if we win. Icelanders are FAR too patriotic to ever give up the hosting rights.

All Stars 6 // HEAVY spoilers and tea
I like this tea a LOT more esp because we don't lose Yara right at the beginning which would be CRIMINAL and YES at Silky potentially not returning. Although fourth out is still robbage but at least it's not immediate robbage <3 Also really hope Ginger wins!

Yeah I could see that happening. At least one of these "destined to flop" songs is going to surprise and qualify. I can easily see it being one of the Amens.

Eurovision Song Contest 2021 · Predictions
This year is so open. I can honestly see any of the top 6 in the odds win but at the moment I'd rank them like this, in order of likelihood: 1. Switzerland 2. Italy 3. Bulgaria 4. Iceland 5. France 6. Malta Switzerland remains my pick to win as it feels like it's the most accessible for both juries and televoters and I don't think the "it's too much like Arcade" thing holds much water since Arcade won two years ago now and a lot of people probably won't even remember what song won even if they might remember Arcade as a song. Italy seems to have a lot of cross appeal too and might do the impossible and actually win as a rock song. Bulgaria's staging seems to be working and I've gone from expecting it to be the surprise DNQ to being a serious contender again even though I don't think the song itself is that strong. Iceland will definitely have broad appeal and could be a dark horse but I'm not really expecting it to do well enough with the juries to actually win but a top 5 is well expected at this point. France could be a winner but they're always overestimated tbh. I don't really get the appeal but the staging will be critical and could make a huge difference. Everyone I've shown the video so far has been bored by it though which is interesting because all the other winning contenders have at least gotten some fans out of my casual fan friends. I just don't foresee Malta winning with this staging unless they have something surprising & shocking up their sleeve. I think a lot of people compare it with Netta (for good reason) but Netta also had the crazy factor on the stage working with her. Here Malta's staging just seems to almost blend in with all the other songs with similar staging. I'd be very surprised if anyone outside this group of six were to win though.

Eurovision Song Contest 2021 · Predictions
I still think Switzerland will take the cake this year with only either Italy or Iceland challenging it. With Switzerland topping the jury vote and either Italy or Iceland topping the televote. I honestly think Iceland could feasibly win by being 2nd in both à la Duncan but feel free to point and laugh at me when we wind up in 12th place
