They're currently #1 in Billboard Global chart and Global (excluding US) charts. They've just performed at MTV VMAs and even won an award there. The pre-orders for their new album are impressive. Not hating on Blackpink cos I think they're super talented as well. And I don't want to pitch an artiste against another. However, it's unfortunate that Little Mix didn't make as much stamp internationally, and yet they ticked all the boxes. Was it really just the label? Or was it just one of those things, eh?

I don't understand the surprise though. They've only just gone on hiatus 3 months ago. I wouldn't have expected them to start all over again posting celebratory messages and pictures. It's just too recent, you know. Like I said, they're done; and 11 isn't one of those numbers significant enough especially in the contexts I stated.

They won't be announcing/releasing anything. Little Mix is OVER (for now), and each of them has clearly moved on.

Maybe I didn't put my point across correctly. This is an act that has released six top five albums in the past ten years, with five #1 singles and 19 top ten singles. The best performing of these singles are then packed into one album. It's thus no surprise it's still in top 20 after thirty nine weeks. Many of these singles are already in established playlists (both public and private), and will keep getting streamed like forever. Yes it's impressive if you want to say, but it's a reflection of their cemented status as one of the 50 best selling British acts of all time, one of the top 10 best-selling British acts who started out in the past 30 years, and the 2nd best-selling British GG of all time. Putting all these into consideration, I had wished it spent more weeks in the top 10, although I think that will still happen.

She just posted on Instagram stories saying her album is complete, and that there are things she's written there which she's never really spoken about. OK just release the album already!

What record? Weeks on chart? Or weeks in top 20? Even if it does eventually beat Glory Days in these aspects, it's not particularly impressive. I mean, it's a Greatest Hits album, and the hits will keep getting streamed. Album charts in this era of streaming are dominated by Greatest Hits albums.

Perrie's vocals are insane! Kamille should give her a big ballad where she can showcase her impressive vocal range and her goosebumps-inducing belts! Adele will come for vocal lessons thereafter. Yes I said it!

Yep, not because I'm a fan, but Perrie's voice is among the best out there in the pop world.

It's actually almost 2 years since she left the band, and we've only had one song/a sample (that fell out of UK charts quickly and did nothing internationally), with tonnes of Instagram selfies, studio clips and trips to America. And now she's left (?been dropped by?) her label. In those almost 2 years, the rest of Little Mix as a group has released 6 singles, a Greatest Hits album, completed a tour, gone on hiatus, and now gearing up for solo music. Sorry I just couldn't help it. Somewhat unrelated, but I find it a bit too much when an artist keeps posting clips and photos of themselves in a studio recording music. It feels like constant tease that doesn't materialise. All LM girls are guilty of this (much less Jade though). It would have been amazing if Jesy left, became inactive on social media. Then one year down the line, releases a surprise proper single and an album - without all the drama of Boyz of course. I suppose it's "bigger" stars that pull that off, but that's the sort of thing that I find exciting.

I think the streams are more worldwide than the UK. Also, Heartbreak Anthem has been gathering similar streams but hasn't charted in a long time. I'd be pleasantly surprised if Power makes a chart reappearance though. It's one of my top 5 Little Mix, and I actually do prefer the album version!

I doubt either of them will be platinum by year end. That's about 3800 weekly sales for BU, and 1900 weekly sales for Confetti. I mean, Confetti hasn't even been top 100 for a long time - apart from the tour's final week. But yeah, they'll both eventually go platinum, but likely at some point mid to late 2023.

I think Get Weird spent 35 weeks in top 20, and Glory Days 65 weeks. Between Us will likely overtake Get Weird re this record. But jeez Glory Days was that bitch!

There are different degrees of falling out though. Not every falling out means "I hate you"/"I can't stand you". Sometimes people also grow apart. Not that it means much, but Leigh-Anne was the only one who didn't cry in Jesy's documentary. When Jesy was in tears as they performed The Cure in Europe 2019, Leigh-Anne tried to hug her, but Jesy gravitated towards and hugged Perrie whilst seemingly leaving Leigh-Anne ignored. Again, I'm probably reading too much meaning into the body language with benefit of hindsight. As an outsider with little bits and pieces I can gather from interviews and performances and all, I feel Leigh-Anne has had a hard time in that group, and it does seem Jesy was the least sensitive whilst she (Jesy) thought her own problems were the most. She's been ignored, bullied, trolled (all of them have had their share and not just Jesy), felt invisible, least favoured by fans, mocked as least talented, etc. I think that's why Leigh's so keen on this hiatus. It's clear they love and respect each other so much, especially as a trio. But as a soloist, even if she doesn't have as much success as Little Mix, she can fly to Brazil and perform to fans who actually see and hear her. Anyway, I've deviated from the topic. As tough as it appears, never say never still.

Both Holiday and Break Up Song spent 18 weeks on the UK official charts. BUS peaked (and debuted) at #9, and Holiday peaked at #15. BUS spent 9 weeks in top 20, whilst Holiday spent 7 weeks. Considering that BUS was the lead single and "marketed" as the introduction to a new era, I don't think there's a significant difference between the performance of both singles. Every act suffers from diminishing returns. Some of the chart-topping names in music today will get to that point where even really good songs they release will struggle to make top 20. With the generally expected short shelf-life of pop groups, they even get hit the most. After 5 albums, it certainly wasn't going to be business as usual. This is why I think Sweet Melody carries so much significance in their career. It was a game-changer. Yes, the video was banging, and their releasing it on the same day as the song itself helped; but I do think the song was just so good and even the general public loved it. It debuted at #8, then dropped to #12 the following week, before ascending to #3. It got to number one nearly three months after song and video were released. And I think a huge chunk of the Confetti album's success was to do with the public interest Sweet Melody generated.

The hardworker I think Leigh-Anne is won't be sitting at home parenting. Even if she's not releasing a complete album, she'll be doing other non-music related showbiz things.
