Perrie - Forget About Us • 1st Single
If you're in a VERY SUCCESSFUL band, where all members are allowed to shine, you're proud of the music you put out, and you all genuinely get on, why is there a need to break up and go solo? For ego? For the inevitable comparisons of the band members' output by the public, media and fans? Wasn't it about the music and success anymore? If you want an identity separate from the band, why not pursue other non-musical solo projects? Maybe I have no idea how the music industry works, but bands do this all the time: split up, have abysmal solo careers, then run back together years down the line for tours to make money. Little Mix was/is a unique kind of girlband. Their vocal abilities and the way they blend is rare. They're all gorgeous ladies, can perform and are generally well-liked. With their talent and ability to grow as a group (compare their earlier with their later releases), they could re-invent the group and even potentially diversify. Some of them could learn to play an instrument and surprise fans on stage. Their Woman Like Me/Free Your Mind in the Confetti tour was amazing, and a kind of uncharted territory for them. They could even move at a slower pace considering family commitments. I still think they're capable of so much more as a band, and should not have announced a hiatus. There are a number of boy bands going strong for decades! Some bands are established as a platform for one or more members to eventually become mega solo music stars; I don't think Little Mix is that band. Even if they were, they left it too late. They're far too entrenched as Little Mix now, and they gave their prime to the band. I know Jade is yet to release, but what are the odds really? Maybe one or two hits? I'd be pleasantly surprised if one or two of them prove me wrong.

Perrie - Forget About Us • 1st Single
A bit disappointed at the streaming numbers, because I honestly thought it's the kind of song the UK public would eat up, and it's Perrie, you know. But yes, despite it being cute and elevated by her vocals, I got bored after two or three listens. Still, I think the streaming numbers are decent, so will likely hang around top 40 for a fair number of weeks. My Love is my favourite Little Mix solo material so far.

She needs to stop the replies. I want to ask - does she not have a manager? But I realise her own sister is managing her ....

The "acapella" version of stripping the entire song off just to her voice only, just shows how ear-pleasing her voice is! I need that album in my life rn

There is no solo song of theres they could not have released as a group. This song sounds like Shout out to my ex. Songs similar to Leigh-Anne's and Jesy's solo outputs are scattered all over LM5. Little Mix dabbled into virtually every genre. Yes their solo won't sound the same because there are four different (albeit blendable/harmonisable) voices in Little Mix. Back to this song. It's good; I like it. Personally, it's not my best of all the solo materials so far - if I'm strictly analysing the entire structure, melody, etc. However, I really really love Perrie's voice. She one of my most favourite voices of all time, and so for me, this just sounds gorgeous based on that. Having said that, if given sufficient publicity, this song is capable of doing really well in the Western world. It's that type of song.

Where are you all hearing this song? Thought it's out midnight? Or is it the apple music link posted above? As an aside, I've been listening to some little mix vocal stems from their songs, and was further reminded of Perrie 's vocal range. Seems she sang most of the lower registers in their songs; yet she also sang the highest registers and ad-libs. Her voice is crazy yo

I'm pretty sure this will smash. I'll be surprised if it misses the top 20 - could even scrape top 10.

JADE - Angel of My Dreams • 1st Single
Yeah, Jade was the creative nucleus of the band, with a bit of Leigh-Anne. You can even tell from Perrie's latest interview. I want to say her solo material would sound most like Little Mix, but Little Mix transcended several genres.

Leigh-Anne - Stealin’ Love • 3rd Single
It's usually an uphill task to achieve solo success coming from a band. The first single usually has the best chance, then the downward spiral starts. I like all three songs; I mean, I still prefer them to a lot of what makes the top 10 these days. It does seem like she expected more though, and that's the problem.
