Talks are continuing between Newcastle and RB Leipzig over the structure of a deal which would take striker Benjamin Sesko to St James' Park. The Magpies made a formal offer for the forward, which Sky Sports News understands was worth €75m (£65.5m) plus €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons. This offer hasn't been accepted or rejected, as discussions go on about the payment terms.

Birmingham City are in talks to sign Ajax striker Chuba Akpom. It’s understood Birmingham are seeking a season-long loan deal, with an obligation to buy if the club are promoted to the Premier League. Akpom, 29, has scored 23 goals in 71 games for Ajax and spent the second half of last season on loan at Lille, where he netted three times in 16 appearances.

West Ham have agreed a deal to sign striker Callum Wilson. The 33-year-old, who left Newcastle on the expiry of his Magpies contract at the end of June, will sign a 1-year deal at the London Stadium. A formal announcement of the deal is expected soon.

Manchester United youngster Jack Moorhouse has signed a new three-year deal and joined Leyton Orient on a season-long loan. The 19-year-old received the Premier League 2 player of the month award for December and was involved in several senior travelling squads under Ruben Amorim.
