  1. British pair Jack Draper and Katie Boulter are through to the next rounds of the Japan Open and China Open respectively after wins against Hubert Hurkacz and Taylor Townsend.

Draper, 22, took 84 minutes to beat second seed Hurkacz 6-4 6-4 in Tokyo, while Boulter won 6-4 6-4 against Townsend in Beijing in her first match since a disappointing second-round exit at the US Open.

Draper's victory - his third against a top-10 opponent in 2024 - sets up a quarter-final against the winner between France's Ugo Humbert and American Brandon Nakashima.

After becoming the first British man to reach the US Open semi-final since Andy Murray in 2012, Draper says he wants to continue to emulate the Scot.

  2. Former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has retired from all forms of cricket after a groin injury curtailed the final season of his career.

The 40-year-old, the leading T20 wicket-taker in history, had planned to retire at the end of the current Caribbean Premier League campaign.

However, after sustaining a groin injury, the Trinbago Knight Riders player has decided to finish immediately.

"My mind wants to keep going, but my body can no longer endure the pain, the breakdowns, and the strain" Bravo said in a post on Instagram.

  12. This Week: (Sorry it is a day late)

2003- Muse- Time Is Running Out

'Time Is Running Out' was the second single from Muse's third studio album 'Absolution'. This would go on and peak at #8 in the UK becoming their 1st UK Top 10 hit at the time. This isn't one that I remember when this came out, sorry. But in recent years, I have grown to like this song from Muse. In the recent Buzzjack's Favourite Group rate, Muse would just sneak into my Top 30 by coming 30th and getting that one point.

    2008- McFly- Lies

'Lies' was the second single from McFly's fourth studio album 'Radio:ACTIVE'. This would go on and peak at #4 in the UK, and would of course go on and have what had become the norm, the traditional McFly drop after it reached its peak, this time by thirteen places. This is one I honestly say I haven't heard for a long time. I thought this was all right from them, probably not quite up there from their previous single 'One For The Radio'. The music video for this seems to have some sort of a Mad Max ode to it.

    2009- Nneka- Heartbeat

'Heartbeat' was from Nigerian singer Nneka. This would go on and peak at #20 in the UK, this would be remixed by Chase & Status, and the remix of the song would be sampled by Rita Ora on her debut single 'R.I.P'
