Tottenham Hotspur have been fined £75,000 by the Football Association following homophobic chanting by their fans during a 3-0 win at Manchester United last September. The chanting was said to have taken place in the 49th and 79th minutes of the Premier League fixture at Old Trafford. Immediately after the game, Spurs condemned "abhorrent homophobic chanting" as "simply unacceptable" and vowed to take the "strongest possible action".

Double Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova has announced that she will retire from tennis at the end of this summer. The Czech player won the ladies' singles titles in 2011 and 2014 and also reached the final of the Australian Open in 2019. In recent years she has fallen down the rankings and last made the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam in 2020. She missed the whole of 2024 to have her first child and only returned to action in February.

This was the first post-Busted single this from Charlie Simpson's new venture. This would go on and peak at #9 in the UK, can't say this is one that I remember to be honest. For Fightstar this would be their highest charting single to date.

Fans have been warned by the Premier League that fixtures could be moved at "relatively short notice" next season because of the number of teams playing in Europe. A record nine top-flight clubs have qualified for Uefa competitions in the 2025-26 campaign. The Premier League said there is an "increased likelihood" that games will be rescheduled if English teams reach the latter stages, and it suggested fans take this into consideration when planning their attendance at games. Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham will be playing in the Champions League next season. Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have qualified for the Europa League, while Nottingham Forest will be playing in the Conference League. "While the Premier League celebrates this success, it will come with an impact on the scheduling of league matches," a statement from the Premier League said.
