Exeter City have reappointed Matt Taylor as manager on an interim deal until the end of the season. The 44-year-old former Grecians captain takes over from Dan Green who had been in temporary charge following the departure of Gary Caldwell, who left to join Wigan Athletic in February. Taylor spent more than four years in charge of Exeter from 2018, leading them out of League Two as runners-up in 2022 before joining then Championship club Rotherham United later that year.

Tranmere Rovers have sacked manager Andy Crosby, 10 months after he was appointed on a permanent basis. Crosby leaves Prenton Park off the back of 10 losses from 11 League Two games, which has left Tranmere 19th in the table. The club are eight points off the relegation places with 11 games of the season remaining following Tuesday's defeat by relegation-threatened Newport County.

  7. Broadcasters will be allowed to go to adverts during the breaks in the halfs. I suspect ITV may take advantage of this and perhaps try their split screen ads if they wanted to as they have done for their Six Nations coverage https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7081341/2026/03/05/world-cup-hydration-breaks-tv-commercials-ads/

Its getting a bit tighter down there, if I were Leeds I'd start getting worried now with 4 winless games.

Three athletes who were led off course when leading the US half marathon championship will receive compensation after ultimately finishing well outside the top three. Organisers of the event in Atlanta said that police assigned to mark out the route had to respond to an emergency call, which led to confusion from the lead vehicle. Jess McClain, who was comfortably leading the women's race, was taken off the main course, along with her closest challengers Ednah Kurgat and Emma Hurley. The race was won by Molly Born, who had been more than a minute behind, while McClain finished ninth, with Hurley coming 12th and Kurgat in 13th.

Legendary former India players Rahul Dravid and Ravichandran Ashwin are among the latest investors to acquire a franchise in the European T20 Premier League. BBC Sport understands the pair are part of an Indian consortium who have agreed a deal to buy the Glasgow-based franchise in the six-team tournament taking place this summer. The ETPL are also poised to sell the second Dutch franchise - based in Rotterdam - to a group of South Africa investors fronted by ex-Proteas players Faf du Plessis, Heinrich Klaasen and Jonty Rhodes. It is anticipated the two franchises will be officially announced at an event later this month.

Aston Martin team principal Adrian Newey says vibrations from their Honda engine are risking permanent nerve damage for their drivers within 25 laps of running. Newey's remarks on the eve of the new Formula 1 season laid bare the crisis at Honda as the company starts its new working relationship with Aston Martin beset by performance and reliability problems. The vibrations in the Honda engine caused Aston Martin to do the lowest mileage of any team in pre-season testing and are likely to impact the team's potential to finish Sunday's season-opening Australian Grand Prix. "That vibration into the chassis is causing a few reliability problems," Newey said. "Mirrors falling off, tail lights falling off - all that sort of thing, which we are having to address.
