Palmeiras are close to agreeing a deal with Fulham over the signing of midfielder Andreas Pereira. The deal is worth in the region of €10m (£8.6m) Pereira had entered the final year of his Fulham contract - though the club did have the option to extend for a further year.

Progress is being made in talks for Chelsea to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United. There is increased confidence a deal can be completed before Monday’s deadline.

Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino is set to undergo a medical with Crystal Palace on Thursday. Palace have agreed a deal with the Spanish club worth up to £26m. The transfer is broken up into an initial £21m with £5m in potential add-ons.

Watford have agreed a deal to sign former Lens defensive midfielder Nampalys Mendy. The Senegal international, 33, is due to arrive in England for a medical tomorrow. Once completed, he is expected to finalise the paperwork on a one-year deal, with Watford holding the option to extend by a further year.

Liverpool midfielder James McConnell has signed a new five-year contract and is poised to join Ajax on loan, according to The Athletic. The 20-year-old reportedly had interest from Championship sides West Brom, Hull City and Oxford United, and Austrian outfit Sturm Graz this sumer.

West Ham have agreed a £17.3m(€20m) fee with Monaco to sign midfielder Soungoutou Magassa. The agreement compiles a guaranteed payment of £14.7m (€17m) plus £2.6m (€3m) in add-ons. There is still some work to do to finalise the rest of the deal – but West Ham are edging closer.
