Very fun songs recently, I think 'Need U (100%)' and 'Get Up (Rattle)' are great different sides of the dance coin here. Agree very much with 'Get Up' in particular just being a dumb fun song. Would have put 'Wake Me Up' a lot higher, I think that's probably going to be my most played of the songs of this list if not possibly my favourite, very repeatable dance song that I was always into. 'We Can't Stop' and 'Animals' on the other hand I was always very bored by, never got the appeal of either and still think them very poor efforts. Personally.

Nah, I think Polanski will do it, his social media has this acting like a done deal. This is this guy staking his claim for a seat at the next election, possibly also emphasising that the Greens are a democratic party by not technically parachuting in Zack from another part of London.

Berlin itself is pretty left-wing and bohemian from what I remember of elections, as you'd expect. Greens, Die Linke and CDU won most of it in the last federal election. This is Saxony-Anhalt, one of the states of Germany and they've just had a state election. Also part of the old East Germany and one of the most notable things about modern German politics is that what was East Germany has showed a strong preference for conservative parties. Initially Die Linke when they still had a stronger link to the old ruling party of East Germany, but these days, having shed most of the old Marxist-Leninist elements to BSW, another left wing party, Die Linke are more of a standard modern left-wing democratic socialist party. So the rise of the AfD has been very strongly correlated with these less urban states of East Germany, so I'm not surprised their first big taking of control is in this area.

I knew C had to be a very specific band and so I spent ages checking every C band I could think of, from Cream to CHVRCHES to The Clash, didn't think of the Cranberries, oops. Can't believe that peak for 'Zombie' looking at it.

That makes sense in the reading of it, not surprised that had a few valid answers. I enjoyed doing 'research' for this quiz, in that I completely disallowed using google in the fear that the AI or something would give me the answer straight away which wouldn't be fulfilling in the slightest, but I used Wikipedia and OCC as aids to restart my rusty chart knowledge (mostly to confirm answers) while racking my brains for songs or artists that fit the criteria, very fun. While I appreciate that this is sometimes the case, right now, Reform are falling behind the Tories in the polls, are currently weathering a bevy of bad headlines that they'd rather not have given their recent conference, and they are dealing with the much worse dregs of Restore absorbing the true racists. Meanwhile much of the UK centre and left is currently pretty calm and awaiting Burnham's next moves. The corruption and donor story does have more cut through than previous Reform scandals.

Oh and if Flj (or a similar 8-12 minute song) had been like 2nd or 30th or something I probably would have swapped them round, that otherwise makes that overshadowing effect pretty bad for the poor song that gets drawn in 31st (or makes it standout more, idk). As it is, right in the middle of the semi it shouldn't affect the songs around it much.

I considered moving your entry after the random draw, but in my estimation, 11 minutes isn't an overly long song and so there wasn't any need to manipulate the draw order to move it to the end. 15 minutes or longer I would have. Several people listen out of order and I at least always go back to the ones I like after listening through once or twice to finalise positions, I don't know how much it means, as songs qualify from every position.

One nice Séyetana recycle I spotted, big up A-Konohagakure, whose entry's lineup includes Taka Inoue, one member of Midnight Grand Orchestra. Been informed that Daehun's entry is releasing on streaming services on the 7th, I'll add it to the playlists at that point.

The numbers are already even and I've just drawn the semis so setting that in stone for this contest. Just waiting on Yehesi's reconfirmation and a signoff from the mods, semis may be tonight but more likely sometime tomorrow.

There's a lot of work being done on this so that soon they will be more affordable! They're already much cheaper to run for tax purposes, though that's being normalised over time as they take up more of a percentage of cars on the road, but particularly Chinese manufacturers like BYD are going through a period of leasing large numbers of cars out to lease fleets, which will eventually enter the used market once their contract is up. Some other manufacturers like Kia are really focusing on their electric models right now too. But overall they're approaching par with other fuel cars soon if not already (at least if PCP is an option). I switched to one recently and while I'm still in the process of getting a charger installed at my house (takes a while), it's already slightly cheaper even with public chargers. Overall it's better for communities to have public transport and walkable areas but EVs have to be the future of the car market and I think they will be from what I know even if 2030 has been deemed too ambitious as a political target, it probably won't be far behind that.

I didn't actually expect it to ever come out that Reform-aligned moneyed interests were funding polls that subtly favoured them, even though that was obviously happening since the election. I thought polls were too much of a niche interest, but they've also been reported on a lot more in recent years as ascendant right populists have started to find them useful for displaying strength and drawing support to their cause. Though nor did I think that anyone involved with Reform would be so brazenly corrupt as to be directly involved in such an exercise - perhaps a naive underestimation. Buzzing that they've been caught over this. Of course everyone else involved with this and caught out by this video is resigning but Saint Nige will remain atop the ship even though obviously approving of this.
