I am petrified at what we might wake up to. For the first time in my life. Even if it is a stalling tactic, the administration knows that making something like this and not following through with it is far weaker than they will ever allow themselves to appear. If I were any member of Congress right now I would be battering down doors to get impeachment papers and/or emergency control of the situation.

Unsurprised and great that someone being awful in the world of music is finally a reason to stop them gaining money and success at events - though I've not really considered Ye to be as irredeemable as much as a deeply unwell person, and a completely different person to the artist who made the music that made him famous, the situation is not where it should be possible for him to avoid the consequences of what he has said over the last few years. Sort of good that I am seeing, as much as it doesn't apply right now, some people suggesting that forgiveness should be an option, far too often we don't allow or consider that when the person has changed. I haven't seen enough evidence here that he has, but I will be happy if it turns out he is past the psychotic nature of his statements in the past few years.

I enjoyed this a lot, very good theatrical pop and building on the promise that her singles have done for me into a very nice thinking listen. I agree it mainly works as listened as a whole album, and as such I will offer a defense of Fin., I genuinely enjoyed listening to her reeling off names as the album closed out, I expected it to be a tad boring but it got a little hypnotic with the backing. It would only work as a coda after you've listened to the whole album, and I won't listen to it outside of that, but as it is it offers you a moment to really contemplate how much work goes into making a popular album, and as much as the rest of the album is about showing off Raye's artistry as the frontwoman, that she takes the time to shout out everyone who was also important to making the project, that there wouldn't be an album without, it's a great egalitarian and levelling moment in a world that's inevitably about popstars and the slightly problematic process of elevating one person above others. Or in other words, I think it's a sweet and humbling moment that makes me think very well of her for putting in. Besides that, barely a track I didn't enjoy overall, Click Clack Symphony, Life Boat, Joy, I Know You're Hurting, the sweet interlude in Fields and the wonderful opening of I Will Overcome, this hits my theatrical bones very well, I'm glad to see it get success.

He's not well or at least is not fit to command anything of this magnitude to say nothing of the stupidity of the operation itself.

Appreciate that sometimes this is the start of sinister things coming out in the case with situations like this but I don't believe we have any information to substantiate whether it is at all, in the worst case, a visible moment of a pattern of behaviour that has continued with other unknown victims at varying points through Mills' life, or in the best case, an isolated untrue allegation against him from when he was a young adult. That the police never followed up after the initial investigation 10 years ago suggests something towards the latter in my mind - the truth is likely somewhere in the middle, but the important thing right now is that we don't know and I wouldn't be pre-judging this in public with the amount that we do.

tbh it's more mention than I get in most odds threads, always underrated I guess from what I can see (and this does also apply to Greenfroze and A-Konohagakure, also entries that I would be shocked to see at the bottom of the pack) is that there's been enough verbal mentions to convince me that there's a decent niche that will, hopefully, stop The Warning from getting in the bottom places - it's the only arena rock song in the final, does sound like quite a 'hitty' one of those from my biased perspective; though they did come 33rd last time, I think this has a good chance of doing more than that. I'll have another think during the listenthrough about chances of what'll win in general, though I don't know if Fljótavík has it in them to go the whole way, at least not in an 'Infohazard' style landslide.

So aside from the obvious, no Japan, this is at least a decent lineup, no obvious countries who are only doing this for trophy hunting and dictatorship pleasing, no India or China to immediately dominate the first edition, hosted in one of the better Asian countries. I saw some reports that the winner wouldn't host, which, if that's the case, sort of dooms this to be yet another edition of the various 'Asian music festivals' that have been tried a while back, though at least happening annually?

I'd have probably seriously considered pointing all of these :/ huge loss of great songs in semi 1, especially that middle 3 of Wholune, Ennea and Aelandor which I think would have been all in my top 5 if I were in that semi. I think the only one of my votes I lost in my semi was Abeltesfayon which is much better going. Mostly good results but a lot of faves I couldn't vote for lost :(
