  1. well I am doing... okay, I liked that Maybe Psychic was such a chill downbeat entry and it felt very classically Unknown Pleasures to me, thank you for the votes so far most of my votes need to be doing far better (over half the points of Lambs are mine, what?), so I guess I'm team Radio Aurora
  2. we may be requiring for many songs that have no points right now to get more points
  3. I am very glad to see LiSA get this far (and it's because I like her so much that I paid attention here in the first place), though I was hoping to see more of her early stuff that I got into her for show up - Oath Sign is an absolute banger that you should all check out. Eric and The Chicks both did very well too and were interesting to see songs from, shame to see them gone also.
  4. ooh I knew there was a reason I thought I'd seen the name of your song before, possibly I've even heard it. I haven't seen that show (a TV show spinoff of the films I believe), only Ghost In The Shell content I've ever seen is the excellent original 90s film, but hype, that has a vibes advantage for me and Yoko's always good value.
  5. Mojtaba Khamenei is the new Supreme Leader. Most influential son of the former Supreme Leader and from what I can tell your standard issue grey eminence, I expect nothing much will change on this front. The US-Israeli attacks are looking horrendous, the images from Tehran apocalyptic, with thousands dead. Along with great economic instability across the world, horrendous war from the American administration.
  6. aww the anime opening one didn't get chosen this is going to be chaos, although I say that as from my perspective I'm going into this with something I would never choose to enter otherwise - but it is very fun so I'll allow that
  7. I know what he meant. I also think it's borderline obsessive and disturbing to be bringing up unrelated murderers and essentially hoping that the same will happen to them. It isn't a positive outcome that Huntley has been murdered in prison.
  8. Shame because of what? What is the implication here? God I absolutely despise the obsession culture has with murderers, despise them but also forget them - they deserve nothing less. Holly and Jessica would have been about my age had they lived and lost however many years of life in the future, that's the biggest tragedy here, not whatever happens to the monster that murdered them or any like him.
  9. having heard Felicia for the first time tonight, that is some QUALITY EDM, to say nothing of her commanding the stage with that performance - that's going to have a long life in Eurovision circles great winner even if I'd have been also happy with half of the rest of the final winning, but only really one winner there in the end
  10. I was probably a bit hasty, a focused search has me right down a rabbit hole of Egyptian, Lebanese and other Arabian pop, submitted something iconic.
  11. whether or not this waste of oxygen survives, and I give very little thought as to whether that will be the case, we shouldn't be hearing about murders in prison, wasn't even six months ago Ian Watkins was murdered.
  12. Florence + the Machine - My Love Blondie - Sunday Girl ABBA - Take a Chance on Me Scissor Sisters - Let’s Have a Kiki The Corrs - Summer Sunshine Erasure - Chorus Atomic Kitten - Eternal Flame HAIM - Want You Back The Chicks - Julianna Calm Down
  13. David Bowie - Lazarus The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk - Starboy George Michael - Jesus to a Child Tone Damli feat. Eric Saade - Imagine Conan Gray - Caramel Romy & Fred again.. - Strong Les Rythmes Digitales feat. Nik Kershaw - Sometimes Ruel - I Can Die Now Troye Sivan - Angel Baby
  14. Congratulations John, absolutely not my pick as a winner (was somewhere down in the 30s for me ) but a decently fought battle for the top, I did enjoy Pagasa, though I wish I was as into it as the rest of the alt bloc, Hendinia would have been a good winner but it's a fine third, er, second placer. Not that it was unexpected, but ouch at the song that was bottom of my semi rankings and that I thought had no chance (possibly related phenomena) knocking me out with a last second surge. Good to see some insights and thank you for some wonderful hosting Sabrewulf, very professionally put together and all done very speedily.
  15. getting in a quick top 42 based off of vibes and not much reading about other predictions (only a little) 1 Hendinia 2 Fljótavík 3 New Lexico 4 Altyr Muunilinst 5 Aeroche 6 Pagasa 7 N DNTN 8 Botanikka 9 Neliönoir 10 Taahino 11 Deandria 12 Zanmatony 13 Wholune 14 POPHub 15 FARC 16 Yehesi 17 Dobago 18 Baleghde 19 Kluminican Republic 20 Dalisska 21 Lentyll 22 Persephonia 23 Harmonica 24 Ojnoj 25 Cheiron 26 Freidland 27 Mothetopia 28 The Spodic Empire 29 Jupiterdonia 30 Sovarasma 31 FSR Rontvia 32 Elëdan 33 Summericia 34 Trifoski 35 Hushkanukia 36 Land Of DW 37 Lookylion 38 Danæviia 39 Scotland 2 40 Juranabaijan 41 East Rukahavian 42 Cor Lupus
  16. It is such a weird experience that the UK entry is the song fully embodying the energy and hype I love the contest for. Obsessed. In some ways it doesn't matter where we finish when we're trying something this zanily brilliant, and on another, seeing this smash the televoting would be so cathartic and I hope it happens. also it helps keep to my pledge to not vote if my favourite entry actually is the British entry (pending actually hearing any other entry lmao)
  17. LiSA - Akeboshi (明け星) () Kelly Clarkson - Haunted ROSALÍA - Reliquia FKA twigs - Stereo Boy Nelly Furtado - Try Delta Goodrem - Eclipse Lily Allen - 22 Kesha - RED FLAG. Chappell Roan - After Midnight
  18. I may or may not be on my 4th or 5th listen already
  19. I enjoy this greatly for the most part - sure maybe some of the lyrics are a bit silly, but this is really what I like to see from an entry, bit of alt, bit of edge, hard beats, keeps to his sound very well - if the BBC have a good stage show in mind, may not do horribly. Keep in mind that the accent, the Blur stylings, that is a big aid to the large amount of people who watch Eurovision with the expectation that they're going to see an entry embodying stereotypical traits of a country and while it's certainly not as strong a song for widespread success as the Cha Cha Chas/Rim Tim Tagi Dim/Espresso Macchiato's of the Eurovision world, it's aiming in that same area. Certainly, again, I don't know the field as well as I normally would at this stage, but this sort of song not being one of the more memorable entries of the night would be very unusual.
  20. I have seen some analysis that relates to knocking out an ally of China as they might gear up for an invasion of Taiwan. It's an interesting angle certainly and may make sense to some American-Israel strategists. I don't read Chinese foreign policy as being particularly hawkish right now though, and while China/Iran certainly do trade, this gives just as much currency for China to court allies elsewhere in the Global South. Far better for Beijing to cast itself as the stable partner who can resist the mad president, in fact I think this may even be a gift to Xi long-term, assuming he can remain pragmatic.
  21. Not thinking of any specific songs in mind here but clarification: from cursory research, a rather large proportion of Middle Eastern music artists are now based in somewhere like Canada or California, even if their artistic output is specifically tied to their heritage, so what am I looking for, citizenship of a Middle Eastern country, must be based in the ME at least some of the time, must be fully based there? Happy to go with the line you were thinking of here, it's a interesting restriction to decide on (and one I have a temptation to make "current" should I find the right artist and song combination).

voted, still managed to salvage a good few of my favourites, and there are a few countries in and around my votes that I don't often vote for which is great to see.
  23. minor hysteria over fuel seems so quaint when there's a BLOODY WAR BETWEEN NATIONS going on Strikes in Tehran, an Iranian ship has gone missing with over 100 people, I think the death toll in Iran has passed 1,000 (and Western media is apoplectic at Iran defending itself, random missiles hitting neutral targets in Dubai notwithstanding). Completely unnecessary death and chaos. I hope more than just the reliable and consistent anti-war left start condemning it soon.
  24. I just want Rosalia, Twigs and LiSA to be the top 3 girls, is that too much to ask?
  25. YouGov now has Greens within points of Reform and steaming right past Labour.
