  1. Pretty every poll, newspaper report and reaction I've seen have it bad for Trump and good for Harris, (think it was 63-37 for 'who won the debate' from CNN, WaPo's swing state voter poll had them swinging for Harris by 23-2). Huge gaffes from Trump too at least from what I've been able to see, 'illegal aliens getting transgender operations in prisons' (?) and 'eating cats and dogs'. It's looking good for the Dem campaign from this. As I suspected. We need another debate closer to the time, the more people see of Trump at this stage the less they like him, conversely, the more they see of Harris, the more she is liked.
  2. man flip leww's odds literally upside down and that'd be a quality result
  3. People are voters no matter whether they are in California or Missouri or Vermont or Utah. If New York always outvotes Vermont that's not a problem to fix in Vermont's favour because states aren't people. In actual fact, if you live in any of those states your vote is treated as a foregone conclusion while both presidential candidates woo the 100,000 or so swing voters in Pennsylvania every year and no one else. Your vote also literally counts less if you live in a large state, because each state has 2 senators in addition to their other electoral votes which means that votes per state is biased in favour of small states.
  4. Difference with that is that the UK has parliamentary elections, each election is for a specific MP. As to whether that should be the case, or how people's votes get wasted in our system, a topic for some place that is not the US election thread, but the US presidential election is for one office that is responsible for the whole country, so splitting it by states makes zero sense. Prescriptively if more people vote for the leader of a whole country, then they should be the leader. Especially because the Americans are already voting for Congress and some Senators and some governors at the same time, each with their own problems but it's not like there's no statewide representation.
  5. It’s actually on to be a hit, sheesh! Is What I’ve Done still their highest peak? Insane to think there’s a possibility of it being beaten in 2024. Been playing it loads, absolutely loving this sound.
  6. I am absolutely going to be repping PEAK fiction when I make my list, been a while since I properly evaluated my faves.
  7. Very much a collection of songs with King Of The Slugs as the literal and figurative centerpiece, taking up 20% of the runtime alone as it does, but this is such a fun record throughout, all the craziness I'd hoped for is still there in the tracks I hadn't heard, 'Vigilante' and 'Running' in particular are new highlights I hadn't heard before.

Great list of songs that I have for the most part not heard for about a decade and a half. Really good strong rock selection from what I know of the scene at that time too and Disc 2 looks incredibly strong also.

  10. So after the LEFT winning the elections in France, the LEFT putting forward their candidate for prime minister, including ones that might be a bit more center-left and acceptable to parts of Macron's coalition, Macron just goes ahead and appoints Michel Barnier, from the 4th-placed right-wing Republicans, as PM. Acceptable to the center, and the right, and not censured by the extreme right is their strategy. Where's the left, idk, they're not important. God I hate Macron. *gestures vaguely at the New Popular Front leading the election results, literally saving Macron from having a Le Pen led majority in his Parliament*
  11. Caught a bit of their livestream last night - she popped off. Seems like Mike's having a blast with it too, and I could definitely get behind a female voice on future LP tracks.
  12. Excellent winner, had a listen to their album back when they were nominated and it is a really great listen all the way through, very innovative group.
  13. i wish pain upon Pink Friday (the original) otherwise good performance
  14. @1831339529648656484 Patel's out. good riddance etc etc Major shock is that Mel Stride managed to beat someone.
  15. It's not (I don't think?) mathematically impossible that there'd be none of the qualified entries in semi 1 scoring between 34 and 51 points, we've certainly had semi-finals where the point values drop off a cliff, but as to whether that's a plausible or likely scenario...
  16. @1831059059505823950 IRyS (powered by beaver pursuit) skidding and drifting into the final *.* yess thank you everyone, I got nervy, that's two months in a row I've been the last announced through from my semi sheesh really did like Pestolia so that's a shame, but it (my 4-pointer) and The Spodic Empire (my 1-pointer) are my only losses, so good stuff. Excellent reveals and hosting blacksquare, really did the tension well.
  17. Ansel I'm sorry I like your song but...
  18. kathaldazia is surely through, I couldn't call who'll join them though.
  19. feck let's hope I have the luck on my side
  20. get in PIYA CALLING
  21. > Cody makes a big fuss about how he got the wrong semi and has no chance of Qing > he actually qualifies without issue Many such cases.
  22. in a just world tracks like 'Leviathan' should be sailing through semis
  23. aww I enjoyed that Sovarasma entry, the doechii look was playing well
  24. well, bring it on, but I got what I wanted for my song from the semi listenthrough so qualifying would be a bonus x Semi 2 feels fairly open I guess gotten a little bit addicted to it lately tho so it'd be nice
