Body (Remix) also got to #14 and combining both of the versions in the Top 200 on 12/05/2021 puts them at #6 (albiet with 3.5m streams so less actual streams than Sprinter despite the higher position), but I think Sprinter might be the highest for a single song.

Love that for Dave, such a talented artist he deserves all the success in the world imo. Sprinter's an absolute banger too Also not seen it mentioned here but it's made #9 globally on Spotify - when was the last time a UK rap song was Top 10 global, if ever?

I'm thinking something more similar to Starlight ~700k but would love to see a million for it. Do have to question the strategy of releasing at 9PM on a Thursday though, surely they'd have prefered for those 200k streams (+ whatever it got on other platforms, was already pushing 1m globally on YT by midnight so probably a couple hundred thousand UK streams there as well) to actually count towards the chart.

feels like any album that doesn't match ÷ on streams gets labelled a flop on here lol I can't tell if people just set their expectations too high or if they're just looking for any excuse to drag an artist they don't like (or both) fwiw I was expecting slightly higher streams from Capaldi but that still looks like very healthy streams on the whole. it should also sell well physically, will be interesting to see how much it sells first week (inb4 it gets called a flop after selling like 80k lol)

Fastest seller of the year so far by a wide margin for an artist who, while very popular, most certainly isn't the biggest star on the planet anymore like he was 6 years ago, in an albums market that itself has been declining continuously for those 6 years, with an album that is somewhat less commerical that most of his past efforts. I can see a reasonable argument for it maybe being a slight underperformance, but flop is a massive stretch.

There's 1 singular Speak Now song in the Top 200 on Spotify and Apple, at #64 on the former and #173 on the latter lol

not sure why anyone expected anything different after the performance of Eyes Closed and Boat lol. even before any songs from it were released as soon as it was revealed to be an acoustic album it seemed pretty clear it wouldn't be that big on streaming. should still get a healthy amount of physical sales and probably spent multiple weeks at #1. agreed, i think he should put out a greatest hits from the mathematics era next year / late this year, if only because it might finally push OCC to banish greatest hits albums to the compilation chart (and it would be very funny to see people constantly complaining about it clogging up a spot near the top of the album chart), then take a break for 3-5 years before starting a new era.

they weren't even that huge though. they had a ton of longevity for sure but bad habits debuted with what like 550k on spotify? tons of songs from much "smaller" artists have far eclipsed that. and that was a formulated chart smash pop song. - as far as i'm aware is an acoustic album so i think it's very unlikely to do similar numbers to even that. and none of the many features and songs he's done since then, barring peru, have really done anything on the charts either.

am i the only one who really doesn't feel like the ed song is going to be that big of a hit? i mean top 10 is probably a safe bet sure but i'd be surprised if it even makes #1 on any streaming service personally. i think at best it could manage 1 week at #1 on occ if he shifts enough cd singles but that's the best case i really see for it. i think the entire album will probably go without a massive hit single, the album itself will debut with like 50k-75k sales, spend a few weeks at #1 then be below = within 10-20 weeks. could be completely wrong ofc but we'll see soon enough.

Surprised to see Bulbasaur out but can't say I'm complaining lol, I like it but it was one of my least favs of the ones left last round. Gonna have to go for Rowlet (again), Charmander & Squirtle this round.
