Yeah I can definitely see that happening as well, only time will tell I guess. I think the big test for it will be in the couple of weeks after Ed's album release, seeing if it gets dethroned by anything from the album (though of course even if it does it'll likely go back to #1 once Adele's album releases, assuming she actually releases on streaming immediately this time).

These figures for Adele are ridiculously impressive, but tbh I'm not entirely sure what its longevity will be like given these figures. Comparing it to Shape of You for example, it debuted with over double SoY's debut figure, but is now at pretty much the same level as SoY was at on its 5th day. Easy On Me debut: 2,801,638 Shape of You debut: 1,280,898 Easy On Me 5th day: 1,269,141 Shape of You 5th day: 1,258,743 Of course it's entirely possible that it'll have a reversal of fortunes and start increasing in streams over the coming weeks, but I can also definitely see it being similar to Hello, spending much less time at #1 than its humungous debut figures would've initially suggested.

A combination of ACR and the 3 song rule meant that I Don't Care was judged ineligible to chart on what would've been its 9th week at #1 under normal circumstances, but I'm not aware of any others.

Hence why I predicted 30k - 50k from sales instead of 25k - 35k, which looks to be the figures she'll get from downloads lol

I think Hello is pretty unattainable given the drastic drop in the sales market since then (and the fact that Easy On Me isn't doing insane numbers on iTunes), but Shape of You will be the interesting one to watch. That did 89,465 from streaming and 137,343 from sales. Personally I'm going to predict for Easy On Me: 150k - 180k from streaming, 30k - 50k from sales.

Not sure where you read that but it's not true lol, Butter got 11m in 1 day. AIWFCIY is the (former) record holder at 17.2m.

Highly doubt she's going to break that, I believe the record is 1.55m chart sales in a single week with Candle in the Wind '97. That just doesn't happen in the streaming era.

Seems like almost everyone was wrong, its first day streams on Spotify UK were 91,734. :D In all seriousness though, I went with 1.25m - 1.5m for both first day and peak.

ah yes, because when talking about Adele's new single and speculating about how it will perform on the singles chart, and comparing it to Ed Sheeran's singles and how they've performed on the singles chart, it clearly makes more sense to look at the album sales of the respective artists. lol anyway, the bottom line here is that both artists are ridiculously successful, Ed tends to have more success overall on the singles chart, Adele tends to have more success overall on the albums chart, Adele's new single will do insane numbers when it releases and '=' and '30' will almost certainly end up as the 2 best selling albums of 2021 in the UK, despite only releasing in the final months.

Shivers must be #1 combined then, because it only shows up at #1 and nowhere else for me.

That's incredible. I was sure that Olivia would be #1 on the year-end chart because of the massive lead she had but at this rate it seems like Bad Habits might actually take it! What's the latest that a single that ended up at #1 on the year-end chart has been released before?

I'm thinking Shivers will become a real #1 this coming week, what with the 2nd run of the physicals and him doing the rounds on TV supporting the song.

1 more week until he beats his own personal best, will be interesting to see if he can do it or if Shivers will finally become a real #1 next week.

Top end of the Spotify chart looking almost exactly the same as yesterday lol, though the gap between STAY and Shivers has closed by a whopping 2,187 streams.

Conspiracy theory time: what if Shivers being unplayable from playlists on Thursday was intentional to get people talking about the track and getting more people to check for themselves if they could play it or not, resulting in lower streams for the Thursday (which doesn't actually affect the chart anyway) but higher streams on Friday?

Anyone know when Shivers got moved to #1 on HHUK? It was #3 on Saturday and it's #1 now, but idk when it actually got moved.

Here's to hoping that Shivers can have the same effect then :D

Looking back at the Spotify streaming figures for Bad Habits, it was the Wednesday (30th June) where it really started to take off. I can't remember if some specific promotion for it happened then, but whether or not we see a similar climb for Shivers in tomorrow's figures will be very telling I think.

Agreed, definitely expect it to peak in weeks 2 - 4 like Bad Habits did now. Bad Habits peaked at around 750k daily Spotify streams so I see Shivers peaking at around 500k - 600k (excluding the potential for a massive boost from the album).

Still behind Bad Habits when you count remixes, but with Shivers' current upwards trend on all platforms (and looking back at Bad Habits' run) I image Shivers will be properly ahead of Bad Habits by Wednesday's figures.

It's climbing on all platforms lol. Since I last checked it's gone 5-3 on Apple, 14-7 on Amazon, 4-3 on Spotify, and has climbed to within spitting distance of the #1 on iTunes.

That begs the question - did the label of Roses ask for a manual reset? Because even though the remix, the one that was actually getting streamed, was released in 2019, the original was released in 2016, nearly 4 years before it started hitting charts.

Only way STAY would've been #1 is if Bad Habits was on ACR but STAY wasn't. Looking very likely Bad Habits would've got a 12th week if not for ACR.
