I expect to be in an absolute state next Friday, balling my eyes out crying (like I was when ‘Abracadabra’ came out for 3 hours in the early mornings), and asking her “WHY HAS IT TAKEN YOU 15 YEARS!!!!!!”. I will not be disappointed with this album, my gut feeling is also telling me this will be her most critically acclaimed album as well and a strong shot at winning Album of the Year in the Grammys next year!
  2. I agree with Aly with ‘The Fame’. The album was starting to lose steam around ‘Love Game’ and I think releasing another single would essentially be dragging an album out for the sake of it (and I don’t think Starstrukk would’ve smashed either). Releasing ‘Bad Romance’ quite soon after maintained Gaga’s momentum as the untouchable pop force in that era. For ‘The Fame Monster’, it’s no secret that fans (including me) wanted ‘Dance In The Dark’ as a single as it’s also my album favourite bar the singles, but sitting back reflecting I think that would’ve flopped. ‘Monster’ would’ve probably been my pick as the only song in this era that deserved a single push but I can see why it was ultimately scrapped. For the ‘Born This Way’ era, I think the single choices were actually correct, but I’d switch ‘The Edge of Glory’ and ‘Judas’. As much as everyone seems to harp on about ‘Marry The Night’ being a favourite, again I don’t think it would’ve smashed any harder. It’s very much another case of ‘Dance In The Dark’ category. If we were to really push another song it would’ve been ‘Scheisse’ for me. ‘ARTPOP’ is hard, and ‘Sexxx Dreams’ is another example of this era’s ’Dance In The Dark/Marry The Night’. It’s one of my favourite tracks on the album, but again I don’t think it would’ve done much given the nature of the song. I’m a firm believer that ‘Applause’ was the right lead single choice, and I will fight until I die that stance. For me, it’s by far the most superior song on the album in a rather chaotic atmosphere, but I would’ve quickly released ‘Do What U Want’ as single #2 followed by ‘Gypsy’ to conclude (again to showcase sound diversity within the single release strategy). ‘Joanne’ should just be dumped in general, sorry not sorry at all, or be grouped with ‘A Star is Born’ and be a side project much like ‘Harlequin’. For the ‘Chromatica’ era, again like Aly said above it was a wasted era. Upon album release it’s quite clear Gaga gave up on it. For me ‘Alice’ is this era’s ’Dance In The Dark/Marry The Night/Sexxx Dreams’, I’m not convinced it’ll do anything but mid-tier in the charts and that’s based on name carrying alone. ‘Sour Candy’ should’ve been released after ‘Rain On Me’ (but I get why it wasn’t given a duet was single #2 and another one for single #3 might’ve caused some backlash), as it had the most promising streaming prominence amongst all album tracks. For ‘Mayhem’ well she’s cracked the code SO FAR. Fingers crossed it’s a 4/4 for the next single..

I’ve read some of the reviews (they’re quite vague thankfully so it doesn’t spoil TOO much) and some are saying that ‘Born This Way’s crown as being Gaga’s best album is going to be snatched with ‘Mayhem’ 😱😭😢
  4. I think Abracadabra might scrape a week at #1 or come very close to it on album release week!
  5. You have all got this wrong 😢😢 GET SHALLOW OUT PLS!!
  6. Garden of Eden sounds like the album’s Paparazzi, which to me is a sure fire radio friendly hit (and that’s only based off the loose snippet that’s floating around)!

This is absolutely terrible. SM Ent’s attempt to try and make another EXO-sounding like boyband but in the west is….not hitting so far.

I don’t think Gaga herself stated that it’d be released anytime soon, as she was very coy in how she answered that question. Us fans are dying for a continuation of the ‘Paparazzi/Telephone’ series but I’m not actually convinced we will ever get a third part :(.
  10. Abracadabra gaining streams yesterday, we love to see!
  11. Does the Rio Festival have a big impact on music consumption uplift during/after the event, the way Super Bowl does? (Apart from Brazil which is a given but will it be a regional increase or will other nations benefit from it too?)
  12. I reckon DWAS will challenge the #1 spot for 2025!
  13. GET OUT SHALLOW!!!!!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
  14. This is promising that it’s climbing back up again! :cheer:
  15. Jewels n Drugs for me. Rapping is simply just not for Gaga.
  16. Thank the lord, that alter ego was annoying as hell!
  17. A moderate sized hit so far, but nevertheless still smashing all my expectations for it. It should shoot up quite considerably following album release week.
  18.  This will only increase as well with the release of ‘Mayhem’ very soon! :o
  19. I wouldn’t be surprised if it came to a year to the release of the song in August and it’s still getting 10million global daily streams! I think DWAS is saying “I want the overall most streamed song ever record”. :o
  20. Shallow most definitely needs to go out next round!!!
  21. It’s looking more and more likely that DWAS will return to #1 again. The song just…doesn’t want to let go.

This is rather weak (and my expectations were the lowest for Jisoo since I think she’s the weakest member of the group).
  23. It would still generate publicity for Gaga herself, and get her name further out there (although not a massive increase in sales due to her reluctance to promote anything current!). On a more POSITIVE note… @1890796392207057283
  24. If only half of her iconic songs got as much attention ‘Shallow’ did from a live performance perspective…
