  1. Reflekt - Need To Feel Loved Thick D - Insatiable Juliet - Avalon Loads more but these spring immediately to mind.
  2. I hope so, they're one of very few metal bands (along with Deftones, Mastodon etc) that I'll listen to.
  3. Boards Of Canada - Geogaddi Aphex Twin - Drukqs Super Furry Animals - Rings Around The World Clinic - Internal Wrangler Death In Vegas - Scorpio Rising Primal Scream - Xtrmntr The Earlies - These Were.. The Earlies Pedro - Pedro I'm sure there are more but my tastes have changed so much in 9 years, I can't actually think
  4. I don't think I've heard Girls School yet, not knowingly anyway! I heard Jet on the radio a couple of months back and that's what led me to investigate Band On The Run, which is indeed a very good album.. proving to be a firm favourite :D Are there any other Wings LP's worth investigating?

Amanda Holden I don't see would really be right for The Crystal Maze, she's all hair and teeth. If it is going to be revived, and I really hope it is as it was one of the best programmes on TV, then surely a great British eccentric is needed to host it. And I agree that it wouldn't work quite so well with celebrities, we're oversaturated with celebrity specials as it is! All that's needed for a revival now is Fun House with Pat Sharp :D
  6. The Beatles I didn't really have much time for when I first properly started getting into music, as I started out listening to The Velvet Underground, Suicide, dub reggae etc - what was deemed to be 'cool' by the people I mixed with and spoke to (hopelessly pretentious faux-hipsters mostly). I think when you're young and impressionable you tend to be more of a sheep and try to fit in, but it's only really been in the past 2 or 3 years, since I moved to Dorset, that my tastes have matured and I please only myself. Like I used to think Wings were really awful, just going off Mull Of Kintyre etc, but having listened to the Band On The Run LP a lot recently I'm now of the view that Paul McCartney still had a lot left to give post-Beatles.

I think those two were the most well-known, Let Me Be was a hit for The Turtles apparently but I can't really say that I've heard much of theirs other than Happy Together. He did write Secret Agent Man too

Is anyone else a fan? He wrote Eve Of Destruction (a hit for Barry McGuire), Take Me For What I'm Worth (a hit for The Searchers) and was tipped to be the next Dylan.. unfortunately it was always other artists who made his songs hits and his own career as a singer-songwriter in the mid 60's folk-rock boom never really took off. His first album, Songs Of Our Times, definately needs to be discovered by a wider audience. His songs are socially and politically sharp, and I think he's more accessible and less pretentious than Dylan.

R.I.P. :( Am not a Steeleye Span fan but he was an important figure in folk-rock.
  10. Supergrass - Caught By The Fuzz

  12. I see these all the time in charity shops, my mate collects the odd few for drum breaks as he's a hip hop producer :D They have a certain kitsch value about them!
  13. In theory, this sounds amazing. If anyone can do Floyd justice then it's The Flaming Lips.
  14. I've heard of probably about half of those  Have been too out of touch this year to appreciate much new stuff! It's nice to see Royksopp in there though, I was quite impressed by the quality of the singles released from Junior. I may add this to my shrinking CD collection in the New Year :D
