Sway did well, but i dunno if there's really anyone up and coming that is gonna scale the top 40. Choong Family got to number 57 or something with Memory Lane, which i thought was pretty good. Craig David has gone a bit dull i reckon, he's got an amazing voice but he's played it really safe with his latest material so that it established him as a major force in the UK again. he had to come back with something really polished and commercial. i dunno if there's anyone from the grime/dubstep stable that is gonna break through. i mean i just hear and see stuff and whether it's got commercial and broad appeal or not doesn't register with me, to me it all sounds good. stuff like Mike GLC, they've been playing his video on Channel U a lot for Make It Home. and i like all these mixtapes that are doing the rounds, like how Sway started off. but i dunno, uk urban seems to be getting left behind a bit, cos there's so much indie about and that's what's in vogue. it'll still thrive though, it's like drum & bass. never goes away, it just retreats from public consciousness a bit
