MARINA ‘LOVE + FEAR’
"Superstar" on repeat at the moment - I really hope this is the track the label are trying to get radio onboard with!
-
Ava Max - So Am I
This sounds EXACTLY like "Sweet But Psycho", haha. Surely the general public aren't going to fall for this and help it become a hit.

Impressive feat for Sam Smith's "Too Good for Goodbyes" going double platinum, I think people were too quick to rule his second era out as a flop. Great to see one of his early tracks, "Leave Your Lover", hitting a sales milestone too!

Billie Eilish - WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?
She sounds a bit like Lorde on "wish you were gay". OK, but not "bury a friend" great for me on first listen.

Sam Fender - Hypersonic Missiles
Just as "Play God" is picking up, Sam's announced that a new song is dropping tomorrow!

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 1st March 2019
Really hoping Calvin and Rag'n'Bone Man can get a week in at number 1!
-
Buzzjack's Track of the Week 2019 - Week 9
Listened to most of these and only really rate benny blanco et al., Tom Walker/Zara Larsson (future single for sure!), Foals, and MARINA (why didn't she put this one out first!)
-
Rak-Su - Rome
Why did they ever release "Pyro Ting" as a collaborative single with Banx & Ranx when they were (potentially) sitting on "Thunder"; probably could've been a decent hit. I hope these guys can get a second wave or something, because their music is still very relevant.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 22nd February 2019
He's heard/realised that he could potentially get a #1 this Friday, so encouraging fans to download/stream on Twitter. I'm routing for Calvin Harris and Rag'n'Bone Man this week though, so streaming that to try and counter balance, ha. Lewis Capaldi should be able to get at least a week in next week though surely?

Buzzjack's Track of the Week 2019 - Week 8
New James Bay is incredible, have had the chorus in my head for the past few days now.
-
James Bay ft. Julia Michaels - Peer Pressure
I really hope this can get James back in the charts/back on the radio - the last era was not good for him; even though the quality of the music was great!

14. Lizzo - Juice 35. Khalid - Talk 71. Grace Carter - Heal Me (René La Vice Remix) 79. Kehlani - Nights Like This (feat. Ty Dolla $ign)

Tom Walker T10 on iTunes with another single is something I didn't think we'd ever see, so pleased for him; though it's a shame "Angels" and "Walk Alone" didn't get this kind of success.

Foals - Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 1
Preview certainly makes it sound like a more radio-friendly track, so "Inhaler"/"My Number" release scenario comparisons seem pretty accurate so far. Excited to hear it!

Dermot Kennedy - "Lost"
New single, "Lost", from BBC Sound of 2019 alumni Dermot Kennedy premieres on Annie Mac's show tonight. https://twitter.com/DermotKennedy/status/1093091389867548672 Looking forward to this one! EDIT: Audio uploaded FB1dDpdi7uc

Surprised that "Crying Lightning" by Arctic Monkeys is only now hitting 200k - it's by no means one of their biggest/best, but I would've thought even older singles would've benefited from their 'AM' era streaming success.
-
Wiley, Stefflon Don & Sean Paul feat. Idris Elba - Boasty
I hope that with those four names attached to the song, this does SOMETHING.
-
Buzzjack's Track of the Week 2019 - Week 3
Mabel > all others. Ariana Grande track is nothing special (will grow on me no doubt), and neither is the Sigrid track (MUCH prefer "Strangers" and "Sucker Punch").
-
Bring Me the Horizon - amo
I know it's 'commercial', but "Medicine" might just be my favourite BMTH song to date. Really hoping it (and the album) get enough streams next week to give it the T40 position it deserves!
-
Foals - Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 1
Gorillaz was 2017 and 2018 I thought, but in any case you could add Future to this list; he released two albums one week after the other I seem to recall. Really hope the two album thing doesn’t make for a messy album campaign - they seemed to well and truly breakthrough with their last two albums (last in particular).
-
Clean Bandit - What Is Love?
While it’s the lowest weekly sales to date (LOL), it’s great that this album has hit the T10 now - if only so their album discography doesn’t make it seem like they got LESS popular between eras.
-
Mark Ronson - Late Night Feelings
He confirmed in an interview with Annie Mac last year that the title track features Tove Lo too - very excited to hear this album!

BBC Sound of 2019...
Curveball, was not expecting Octavian to win. Really interesting music though - collaboration with Mura Masa ("Move Me") in particular is great!
-
BBC Sound of 2019...
Of the remaining acts, I'm only really enthused by what Sea Girls have/are putting out; but it's very unlikely they'll put a band at #1. It's between Dermot Kennedy and Mahalia now most likely - can't see either having that big success on the singles chart (in fact, none of the T10 this year scream 'chart' artists).
-
Jade Bird - Jade Bird
Really enjoying the latest two singles, having written her off as someone I could ever get into after hearing the dreary “Lottery”; hope it can be a decent selling debut for her.
