  1. They always do well on streaming and things have only grown since their last album, so fingers crossed for a big chart hit (i.e., their first T40, although 7 of their 12 singles to date have all gone at least Silver!)
  2. 60. FISHER - “Losing It” 64. Take That - “Out Of Our Heads” 73. Sam Smith - “Fire on Fire”
  3. Physical albums Clean Bandit - What Is Love? Florence and the Machine - High as Hope Kodaline - The Politics of Living Mø - Forever Neverland Received Imagine Dragons' Origins and twenty one pilots' Trench for Christmas too, forgot to post in last week's thread.
  4. Album is showing signs of holding up well (current chart run: 19-24-27-25), which is promising. Hopefully it can re-peak once all of the big Christmas/physical sellers drop a bit.
  5. It's stabilised in the lower end of the T40 now at least (current run: 1-33-37-39) - I was not expecting the album to be THAT front-loaded.

Selena Gomez and/or Demi Lovato to return with a big single.
  7. Grouped, but not ranked in order. I could go without listening to any of my 'bad' choices ever again :puke2: Good One Kiss -Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa (Best) Solo- Clean Bandit ftr Demi Lovato Shotgun-George Ezra Eastside-Benny Blanco, Khalid and Halsey Promises-Calvin Harris and Sam Smith OK God's Plan - Drake These Days - Rudimental Ftr Jess Glynne & Macklemore & Dan Caplen Freaky Friday-Lil Dicky ftr Chris Brown Nice for what- Drake I'll Be There-Jess Glynne Three Lions-The Lightning Seeds, David Baddiel & Frank Skinner Funky Friday-Dave ftr Fredo Shallow- Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper Thank U, Next- Ariana Grande Bad Perfect - Ed Sheeran River -Eminem ftr Ed Sheeran In My feelings- Drake We Built This City-LadBaby (Worst)
  8. Dua Lipa has already proved she's capable of scoring solo hits, so I hope her second era isn't plagued with guest rappers ('big' US names such as Post Malone or Cardi B, or otherwise). In any case, I hope she continues to work with big name producers/dance acts - Marshmello, Kygo, Jax Jones, Duke Dumont (who is due a big comeback).
  9. Nothing much of interest on the horizon then. I wonder when we’ll get the next Calvin Harris single? Mark Ronson’s new album, Late Night Feelings, is due out in March by the way.

Kodaline’s latest album, The Politics of Living, has been dropped to £3.99 on Amazon - just purchased a copy!

Should be doing better, but it was actually just certified Silver on Friday ^_^
  12. I wish this project was doing better commercially, I’ve really enjoyed all four releases to date and cannot wait to hear a full album.

I'd argue that Years & Years comeback was 'big' - they certainly seem more popular (i.e., more of a household name) now, and "If You're Over Me" was pretty big.
  14. As much as I'd like him to be promoting "Hold My Girl" too, it's doing wonders for the album - he's been promoting all three tracks live, "Hold My Girl" is on radio playlists, and then you've got "Paradise" and "Shotgun" getting played as part of stations' '2018 wrap up'. He's smashing it really!
  15. It's not up on iTunes/Youtube/Soundcloud just yet, but Annie Mac played the new collaboration between DJ MJ Cole and "Lost Without You" singer Freya Ridings earlier (~8.10pm) called "Waking Up"; so I thought I'd get a thread going as it sounded pretty darn good! Link to track on Beatport here.

Tom Grennan wasn't shortlisted, and they went with Sigrid over Tom Walker last year; I wouldn't say winners are normally 'safe'. I think Sea Girls are shoe-in for a top 5 placing though, if only because they are the only band and sound like they could be really big with radio backing!

I'm gutted that they've reduced the longlist to only 10 now, as I particularly enjoy delving into the catalogs of the artists the BBC recommend in this poll. In any case, other organisations have produced lists of their own - thought they might be of interest to others. 18. All of the Chemical Brothers last six albums have gone to #1, debut hit #9. In any case, this album is really growing on me (appreciate "Beautiful" and the nod to their original sound) - it's a shame the public haven't picked up on it though.
  19. Disappointing on first listen, only the two ‘main’ singles (“Eastside” and “I Found You”) stand out.
  20. Here for this being their third hit in the new year. The fact it debuted at #100 in its first week is a good sign, though it dropped out of the chart last week.
  21. Tom Grennan on the rise again, what's caused this? I was hoping "Run in the Rain" could (though it might still) do something to give him another hit and close the debut era.

If Rocketman (Elton John biopic) gets a soundtrack, I could see that one doing well too!
  23. What’s with churning these new singles out so quickly - I was hoping “I Found You” would be given a better chance before he moved on; but I guess you can’t always do that in this streaming era.
  24. From the preview, the production sounds like it could be from anyone. Seems the Calvin collab just isn't cutting it on streaming platforms perhaps (haven't seen if it's done anything in the US yet), so presumably this one is better aimed at that market.
  25. What is Zayn/his record label trying to do with this campaign exactly? Releasing something every couple of weeks and seeing if it registers with anyone? In any case, I'm looking forward to Mark/Miley and what the Mø/Foster the People re-work sound like. Eager to hear the new Benny Blanco tune too, though I wish he'd waited a little longer while "I Found You" has its moment; the gap between "I Found You" and "Eastside" was perfect I thought.
