One hit wonders who..
Eiffel 65 are prime candidates for this sort of topic. 'Blue (Da Ba Dee)' still remembered and loved by most, but 'Move Your Body' maybe less so despite the fact it went top 3 here. They could so easily have been one hit wonders in the true sense though!

JLS - Beat Again Tour - November 2020
Struggled to get tickets this morning in the presale - was in a queue for almost an hour - and now I know why. They've just announced the presale has sold out. I sincerely hope there's some extra dates waiting release because somehow I don't fancy my odds in the general sale on Friday! I think they're even surprised at the scale it's taken off.

JLS - Beat Again Tour - November 2020
Tickets aren't even on sale yet (pre-sale is tomorrow, I've just had my e-mail code) and they've added a second O2 show on 3rd December in London! I'm toying whether to go to that or the 1st date. Crazy to think that was the last time I saw a tour of theirs. They are also on This Morning on Friday...

ThePensmith's Top 20 Singles Chart
Hello everyone, sorry it's a bit later than planned but here comes my personal top 20 singles that were meant to go up last Friday. Dua Lipa scored her second number one in the last three months seven days ago, but can 'Physical' stay on top today in the face of major competition from Niall Horan, James Blunt with Ward Thomas and the return of the Pussycat Dolls? Let's find out... THEPENSMITH'S TOP 20 SINGLES CHART Week ending 14th February 2020 © AM LIMITED 2020 1. (1) DUA LIPA - Physical 2. (HNE) NIALL HORAN - No Judgement 3. (NE) FLEUR EAST - Lucky Compiled from my own personal listening in the last seven days across streaming, digital and physical formats. KEY (1) - last week's position (HNE) - highest new entry (NE) - new entry (RE) - re-entry CHART COMMENTARY It's a busy old week this one, with seven brand new entries, thirteen records going down, and one non mover. But despite some fierce competition, Dua Lipa sits proudly atop the pile for a second week with 'Physical'. No record in the seven weeks of 2020 that have elapsed thus far has spent longer than a fortnight at the top - and it's been even longer since a record spent as many as four weeks at the summit - so all eyes will be on her next week to see if she can break through that barrier. Back to this week though, and leading the charge of our new hits is Niall Horan, for now unable to add a third consecutive solo chart topper (fifth overall) to his steadily growing pile, with the release of 'No Judgement', the third single from his now confirmed second solo album 'Heartbreak Weather', scheduled for release on 13th March. It enters at this week's #2, whilst his former chart topper 'Put A Little Love On Me' remains a top 20 fixture, down five places to this week's #16. It should be worth pointing out though that that particular single didn't make the top of our chart until its fourth week around at the start of this year, so there may still be time for it to improve before his album's release. CU5ImX_MNms Surely cursing their bad luck and timing this week are a returning Pussycat Dolls. The burlesque act turned girl group, who topped our charts three times with 'Don't Cha', 'Stickwitu' and 'Beep', were last seen over ten years ago, when they had the last of their eight top 20 hits with 'Hush Hush, Hush Hush'. In the time since their acrimonious split, Nicole Scherzinger has been a solo star with varying degrees of success - she enjoyed a chart topper in July 2014 with 'Your Love' - whilst the others that weren't her retreated to relative anonymity or small scale presenting / reality TV stints. KM3j_TXeqfc They reconvened in November last year to announce a comeback tour for this spring and a much talked about performance on the (frankly dismal) last series of The X Factor, on which they performed a medley of their greatest hits, which included a teaser of brand new single 'React'. Now fully unleashed in its full form, it is the second biggest new arrival of the week, entering at #3 - their biggest hit since 'Buttons' with Snoop Dogg made the same position in June 2006 - although you can't help but wonder if it would have made a greater impact being released a bit sooner than this week. New at #5 this week are both James Blunt and Ward Thomas, who have teamed up together for a new version of the former's new single 'Halfway', and are currently on tour around the UK together as well. It restores both artists to a top 5 berth - Blunt for the first time since 'Bonfire Heart' made the same position in October 2013, and Ward Thomas since 'Lie Like Me' got to #3 in August 2018. ZTSDGV3QcKQ Léon belatedly follows up her debut hit this week. The Swedish singer-songwriter made #7 on the second go around for 'Falling' back in August last year, and went onto spend ten weeks on our chart, but the going is a little slower for brand new release 'In A Stranger's Arms', which enters at this week's #12. NuTeCBBILKQ Hanne Leland enters at #14 with 'It's Your Eyes I See', her seventh top 20 hit, and also the exact same position her last single, 'The Nights I Can't Sleep' entered at last September. Meanwhile, Christine and the Queens also return with 'People, I've Been Sad' this week, which at least is a four place improvement on her last single 'The Walker' from exactly a year ago, but unless a climb is in store in the coming weeks she's still searching for another top 10 hit. VKfjwsmIaKw uNGguudoLVs Fleur East rounds off the new arrivals this week at #20 with 'Lucky'. The X Factor and I'm A Celebrity star has finally confirmed details of her new album 'Fearless', which is out next month, and from which this is her third single. Of her activity on my chart to date, more of her hits have come in the last two years than they have at any other point. qtt8t59T1nE FLASHBACK TOP 10 Your chance to see how my personal top 10 was looking on this week in the last 20 years. This week in 2006: Meck and Leo Sayer spend a second week at the top with 'Thunder In My Heart Again', plus classic hits from The Ordinary Boys, Liz McClarnon and Will Young 1. (1) MECK FEAT. JLS - Beat Again Tour - November 2020
I definitely think the fans will be there for them, the response has been really positive since the announcement last night. Marvin said on Capital this morning that nothing's in place yet re: new material, but I guess it's more sensible really for them to test the waters this way with a tour first. It does make me wonder though what a new single from them could sound like in 2020. Especially because there's no one really comparable around now that's doing the same sort of thing they were.

Geri's World Walkabout
Whilst Geri was at the peak of her solo career, she filmed a two part documentary for the BBC just after becoming a goodwill ambassador for the UN, called 'Geri's World Walkabout', that aired on BBC One exactly twenty years ago, in February 2000. In it, she met different people from all over the world to hear their unusual life stories or ways of living. Up until today the only trace of it that existed was a LQ rip of the first nine minutes. Now both the episodes have been uploaded: FRYCQOPSRPc Iz23tolTROU I actually remember taping this and watching it when it was on. God bless her, trying to go for Oprah Winfrey's coin. So near and yet so far. Will have to watch this again tonight I think!

Denise Van Outen - TBA
So Denise Van Outen - or 'The Fox' as she's been known for the last month and a bit in The Masked Singer on ITV - has made an announcement this morning: Whilst this will inevitably be a covers juncture, I'll let her off. If only because her version of 'Gimme Gimme Gimme' on the ABBAmania album in 1999 is still one of the campest things I've heard/witnessed.

The X Factor: The Band
Unsurprising. I think Masked Singer will undoubtedly go in its place given it's surprising success. Either that or ITV are about to find out the hard way what it's like to have the losing side for the first time in over a decade.

ThePensmith's Top 20 Singles Chart
Good evening all, and happy Friday, it's time to check out what my personal top 20 singles are this week. Jonas Brothers have been top of the pile for two weeks now, but can they make it a hattrick today, or will Dua Lipa grab her second chart topper in a row? Here's your answer... THEPENSMITH'S TOP 20 SINGLES CHART Week ending 7th February 2020 © AM LIMITED 2020 1. (HNE) DUA LIPA - Physical 2. (1) JONAS BROTHERS - What A Man Gotta Do 3. (2) JP COOPER - In These Arms 4. (3) NERVO FEAT. PLASTIK FUNK & TIM MORRISON - Dare Me 5. (NE) BECKY HILL FEAT. SHIFT K3Y - Better Off Without You 6. (4) SELENA GOMEZ - Rare 7. (5) MEGHAN TRAINOR - Blink 8. (16) DUA LIPA - Don't Start Now Compiled from my own personal listening in the last seven days across streaming, digital and physical formats. KEY (1) - last week's position (HNE) - highest new entry (NE) - new entry (RE) - re-entry CHART COMMENTARY Dua Lipa's last single 'Don't Start Now' has been one of the biggest success stories on our chart in the last three months. Released last November, it is still on our chart this week at #20 after thirteen weeks around, including nine weeks inside the top 3 and two different spells at number one. 9HDEHj2yzew This week, 'Physical', the follow-up to that single, and second from her forthcoming new album 'Future Nostalgia' was released and repeats the feat, entering straight in at the top and giving her her fifth number one hit, meaning the still strongly performing Jonas Brothers dip to #2. As The Voice UK's current series continues to run on ITV, one of the show's biggest successes found in its tenure on the BBC returns to our top 5 this week. Becky Hill's latest single 'Better Off Without You' is a collaboration with Shift K3y, and enters at #5, making it her highest charting single since her guest slot on Oliver Heldens' 'Gecko (Overdrive)' topped our chart in 2014, although she has had a further four top 40 hits on our chart since. YfSU-w0uX2s Just a few weeks after her fellow I'm A Celebrity campmate Myles Stephenson and the Rak-Su boys returned to the top 10 with recent single 'Girl', Nadine Coyle does likewise with her brand new release 'All That I Know'. Debuting at this week's #8, it also marks the highest position a solo single from the former Girls Aloud star has been at in our chart since her debut 'Insatiable' entered and peaked at #2 almost ten years ago in November 2010. OOb5Q3uEmNQ Andy Brown's debut solo album 'Cedarmont' provided the former Lawson frontman with five top 20 hits, the last of which came as recently as June last year. His most recent single was 'John Travolta', which debuted at #3 last September, but new release 'Worth It' - the second from his yet to be confirmed second solo LP - fails to enjoy the same success and debuts at #14. 6UFqwSg2u-8 There's equal disappointment for Shakira this week, who might have hoped that her dual headline halftime slot at last weekend's Super Bowl with Jennifer Lopez would have powered her new single 'Me Gusta' to a higher entry point than #15. She is now six years removed from her last top 10 hit on our chart - 'Empire' made #7 in 2014 - and even further from her last number one, 'She Wolf', which hit the top in September 2009. gahO_E8U59M There's better news however, for jazz and soul singer Gregory Porter, who despite having lots of album success since his UK debut in 2013, only now makes his singles debut on our chart this week, with 'Revival' entering at #17. kLUzdIFCBWY FLASHBACK TOP 10 Your chance to see how my personal top 10 was looking on this week in the last 20 years. This week in 1999: over fifteen years after their last hit, Blondie make a comeback in spectacular style with 'Maria', plus classic hits from Armand van Helden, Tatyana Ali and The Offspring 1. (HNE) BLONDIE - Maria Thms8Q70ll0 2. (1) ARMAND VAN HELDEN FEAT. DUANE HARDEN - You Don't Know Me 3. (NE) TATYANA ALI FEAT. WILL SMITH - Boy You Knock Me Out 4. (2) THE OFFSPRING - Pretty Fly for a White Guy 5. (3) STEPS - Heartbeat / Tragedy 6. (NE) A+ - Enjoy Yourself 7. (NE) SOULSEARCHER - Can't Get Enough 8. (5) BRYAN ADAMS FEAT. MELANIE C - When You're Gone 9. (4) THE DIVINE COMEDY - National Express 10. (6) TERRORVISION - Tequila

Cheryl • General Discussion
It's a catch 22 the whole way round. Not just for Cheryl, for most artists who started their career in the last two decades, particularly those who had the majority of their success concentrated into a certain time period that was more favourable to a tangible market. Unless they can be guaranteed a massive hit in the way they used to, then - to quote a certain Welsh lass from Steps - it's not worth it for #23, and even less so to bring out a whole album. Even the chances of Nadine having a full new album look slim.

What are your most overrated/underrated sitcoms of all time?
Mrs Brown's Boys is in the Overrated pile here for sure. Likewise most things that Peter Kay has had a hand in. Underrated...I can think of more than a few: - Coupling. This was such an excellent show, some really interesting storylines, funny characters and devices used (the split screen episode after Susan and Steve break up springs to mind), and I especially loved Gina Bellman who played Jane and Richard Coyle who played Jeff. They were so off the wall in their personalities and had some of the best one liners in that show. - As Time Goes By. It probably seems quite twee with retrospect, but when you've got Dame Judi Dench in your cast I'd argue you're onto a winner. She proved her salt in comedy just as much as she did in the more serious dramatic stuff she's known for. I thought the partnership between her and Geoffrey Palmer as Jean and Lionel was really sweet.
