remained friends....thats one step up on the spice girls. 5ive have been and gone, they want to do a take that....i can't see it working, but am willing to be proved wrong.
  3. theres five members in good charlottte? lol....shows how much i know
  4. it won critical acclaim - as has their album, however....it hasn't really done the business char twise. which is a shame, it was funky and cool.

Son of Dork, were more busted than blink... And i'm afraid to say, most record companies don't give artists a chance to do a robbie - and anyway, can you think of any other male solo artist that that has worked for in the last 10 yearS?
  6. LOL! It really isn't written badly...thanks Mark for posting James' comments

Duran Duran and Timbalaaand - wtf?! That's a bit random
  8. I prefered Nelly with her Folklore stuff by far, but I'm glad she's getting the success she deserved with ehr last album, with this one.
  9. atomic kitten wont make 1,000,000 unless one of them dies ina freak accident...mind you, whole again, isn't exactly the most fitting tribute...
  10. I think TOrn will still be considered a classic - atomic kitten - that is just ridiculous - could any of them actually sing.
  11. My top three in order: Torn Oasis Ride On Time I was gonna say that Oasis will pass a million witht he release of their greatest hits later this year (or early next year). Nat deserves it.

so it means, if a tv programme season starts again...say the oc, phantom planet california can effectively "climb" back into the top 40. if someone covers a classic, and people are raving about the classic, both the original hit and the new version can chart at the same time and the worst is at xmas. We might be forced into top tens with Slade for infinity and beyond if this rule is put in place.

i dunno...i read somewhere the rules maybe chagned to 1. include video downloads (OMG: DONT GET ME STARTED) and that songs won't have to be available physically to be elligible for the chart.

Yeah - if they do a comic relief single Are they the only ones to do charity singles for both comic relief and children in need?
  15. Robbie isn't lol. No but seriously who is working with him?
  16. I disagree with the James Morrison comment, he looks like Blunt but doesn't sing like him. Last Request could have been a Blunt song too really. I've heard James Morrison live - and he is fantastic, but his debut is really disappointing for such a talented singer. So predictable...which is a shame. Paolo Nutini - I'm loving Jenny Don't Be Hasty - funky rocky - yeah all true!

considering none of her singles were big hits....that's a bold statement to say, which paper outta interest. I hope it will be big, she won critical acclaim witht he debut (which I think I bought 4 copies of) - for people cos it was sooooooooooooooooo good. I've yet to hear it. It shouldn't be released ont eh 2nd, that's not enough promotion time!

I dunno - he kinda did fall into the mould with Last Request - but considering that was his first single - it was a wise choice to play it safe. Jenny Don't Be Hasty is good. And there aren't that many similar artsits releasing songs at the same time. Robbie's off doing his own thing. Someone's finally silenced the Blunt. Powter's long gone (it seems). There's only James Morrison - who's pure pop with a soulful voice. Lemar - who's new song is shocking Justin Timberlake (who with his new song doesn't fit into any male solo artist category) and then there's Richard Hawley - who i'm sure you're not reffering too, cos he sin't that popular. I can understand if James Blunt ruined the male artist thing for you, though. But if you haven't heard Paulo Nutini's new track, you should it's great.

last request was overrated. but jenny don't be hasty is a masterpiece. i can't get it outta my head. fantastic song. I'm sure he's great live. I'll wait for another single to be released before I rush out and get the album.

Greenday - also a band i've seen live - I hated it, the music was perfect - the singing was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out. Greenday - I admit as far as their released songs go - I enjoyed, apart from american idiot - which was c**p - IMO, but funny on the first listen. I didn't really mind the gig, I loved when they performed "Time Of Your Life" - it was great - there were some great songs - and some not so good ones. I just thought their last album was so over-hyped. Btw: just in case you're interested they recorded a duet with U2, for U2's forthcoming album RHCP's - now the one thing I can say for them, is that they can put on a live show. They are about a zillion times more talented live than they are on the records. But their latest album, is just c**p. The songs lack a lot of character that we are used to seeing from them (especially with the release of By The Way (album)) - I wouldn't want to go see them now... The best thing about the red hot chilli peppers, is that they did a blend. I saw them with the By The Way promotional tour. They did about 2 classics to every 3 songs from the current album - which was good. They played a long set too - which no-one complained about. Ending smewhat predictably on "Give It Away" which wasn't my highlight of the night, but was still good (i don't really like that song)

and i dont...no the other day (going back possibly to november, a year ago) - my friend said wouold I like to go and see the White Stripes Live, I said, well yeah, okay, it could be good. She managed to (ebay) the tickets for £105 for two, with p&p - I was like...omg more than £50 to see a band whose drummer looks like she's still learning the basics. I do think the White Stripes have had some catchy songs. Don't get me wrong, SOME are very simple and effective, but some are just pointless. I loved Blue Orchid, but didn't get the fascination with "My Doorbell" and their followup, which sounded just like doorbell. I admit I liked 7 Nation Army but not enough to pay so much to see them. Anywhos i went, and the girl drummer, really hardly played, i thought it was a gimmick, and that she plays crappy on the records but is actually amazing at drumming and would show off in live performace. Sometimes even lagging behind the beat (in 7 Nation Army notably). She had a go at singing, and most of our group wished she hadn't cos it wasn't best tuneful. The one good thing I can say for her, is that she looked much better in the flesh than the photos I've seen of her. I wouldn't have paid £10 to see what I saw though overall - my friends who had seen them before said, they were much better at the festival she saw them at.

yeh...that is stupid, they could just stop supplying adn "pretend to delete" and see it drop a little. doesn't every album dowload of theirs results in a sale for chasing cars, or is that not how it is done?

it looks more kiddy than their previous logo (although i dont reeli know wot their previous logo looked like....but im sure it wasnt as kiddy as this one)

Eva Cassidy - Fields of Gold - one of the msot beautiful renditions ever. I love her Somewhere Over The Rainbow cover too. I would have loved to have seen her live.
  25. I thought she'd be c**p: but i was very impressed, she does have a telent for singing. She has gone WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY up in my estimation.
