Whitney prepares to go back into the studio
although this does imply she would neva touch the new age stuff...which she did with the last album...(i liked the first track she released from it though...that was a good track...what was it called again)?

Christina Millian on Verge of Bankrupcty
she's been given a fair few chances aint she....although she's racked up a few top 10s. i dont get why she hasnt been so successful - not my kidna thing - but doesnt soudn miels different from pussycat dolls/rhianna

The Faders Question
she's releasing the most successful song as a solo artist - fromt heir band - which scrapped the top 20....what a silly idea.

Deleting Singles
thats a good point : record companies complain about not enough singles sales: but delete all the popular ones! how ridiculous Snow Patrol haven't even got another song lined up! Snow patrol's climbs must be somewhat attributed to live performances, though...?

Lily Allen - LDN
Hands up anyone who wants to support her - for fear of being compared to Whales...or monkeys or ssome other animal.... I like her attitude - its something that does sell and is marketable - and it goes with the kind of unconventional pop that makes up her album. Slagging people off, writing sogns to get back at X's (Not Big) I hope it goes top 3, but think it'll prob land at numbers 5-8 which is a shame. This deserves a number one.

And the white stripes...they are massively overrated!

Pharrell - kinda past it now. BUt a couple of years ago: you worked with the Neptunes and it was the best thing....ever! J-Ho...was that a typo...lol errrrm: J-Lo is overrated because shes an average singer, who doesn't write (much) yet still continues to sell bucketloads (btw that was my first post) Shayne Ward - i suppose is fading into relative obsceurity (sp) so am glad about that now.... Underrated
Kelis isn't underrated, she doesn't deserve to do well - her promotion for her singles/albums is as lazy as it gets.

Underrated
Belle And Sebastian are very underrated Beverely Knight - fantastic singer - underrated Basement Jaxx though - considering how much they've done to shape the dance music world...

Bob Sinclar ft. Cutee B, Big Ali & Dollarman-Rock This Party
I'm glad he got rid of the whistling. I didn't get the obsession with that. I thought World Hold On was too similar to Love Generation because of it. But give me Kiss My Eyes or The Beat Goes On, anyday! Amazingly chessy - but I love it!!

Basement Jaxx - Crazy Itch Radio
COuldn't agree more - for a band I usually love. I loved Lucky Star too (which didn't seem to do the business in the singles charts) - Hush Boy just doesn't really cut it for me. I'd give the album about half marks too, which is disappointing for a Jaxx album - as they are one of my favourite bands. I think this album si a bit rushed. When I heard the intro I thought the album was destined for great things but - it seems....not.

Next Keane Single Revealed
I love Leaving So Soon -but Nothing In My Way is a good track too.

The Way to Release singles
Of course, there are almost patterns to follow when releasing songs from an album, most acts don't release more than 4 songs off an album, some no more than 3. Some release a single, and then release the album with the second single - which of course is more advisable if you are a debut act. But occassionally, this normal trend of releasing is not followed: Case Study: Two british acts, the Kooks and The Arctic Monkeys - both have very different ways of releasing. The Arctic Monkeys - released two songs, then an LP (with the song being promoted from it, as new - not from the album) and then followed up by a single not on the album either... Or the Kooks - who have released Eddie's Gun, You Don't Love Me, Naive, She Moves In Her Own Way, Sofa Song, with Ooh La yet to drop later this month/early october. Which do you prefer as fans - which do you think sells more (if hypothetically the "hypes" were the same) Rav xx

Deleting Singles
I don't really know what's going on with the music world - but I soooooo don't get this obsession with deleting singles. It's becoming "fashionable" to delete singles it seems atm. The thing is, in an age where singles sales count for very little - I can't understand why they would delete singles - considering how much promotion goes behind them. With Gnarls - I really wanted it to complete its chart run so that it would at least outsell the crappy x-factor song that comes out (if that's my goal is anything to go by) It just means that artists promote one song for like a few weeks and then they're onto the next. You're much better off doing a Kasabian (which didn't really have as an interesting chart run as I might have expected) - otherwise you've released an album, and three tracks off the album in half a year. Your thoughts please...

Bedouin Soundclash - When The Night Feels My Song
I loved it last year - but its been and gone...

what is snow patrols next single
I think they should release the song witht he glockenspiel - i love that song. Failing that "Make This GO On Forever" That glock song though - a standout for me Rav xx
