  1. It will come!
  2. Never said it was. I was agreeing that dark themes can bring out good music in general.
  3. You'll Get Yours says hello too :D
  4. Soul crushing. Every single time I hear Mel B speak about what she lived through, while hiding it from so many people. So proud of her for making a consistent effort to help save others from this madness.
  5. Oh me? I'm just waiting for Go Go Go to arrive. :teresa:
  6. I couldn't help but notice that I heard 'Stop' playing in THREE different stores I was shopping at yesterday: a grocery store, a clothing store, and then a different grocery store because I forgot something at the first one. Not an earth-shattering series, I know. But I couldn't help but stop (hehe) and smile. B-)
  7. It's over girl. SW25 is D.O.A.
  8. I like it for the same reasons, and I don't think Mel B created that record with the intent of it charting so I think all of this talk about cheap videos, and floppage chart positions is nonsense within the context of LASOM: it was pretty clear she just wanted to make this record. And it flows much better than 'Hot'.
  9. Here in Canada, the Spice Girls always had great support from radio: airplay was good to them. Holler got a lot of airtime here, but in all honesty, LLLTW was played occasionally for 1 month, and then never again. It was just Holler from then on out. It was pretty obvious that Forever was axed. Just my personal opinion: (brace yourself) I don't really care for LLLTW. :o So, I wasn't entirely disappointed that LLLTW wasn't getting airplay. Some of the lyrics are so cringe for me, for example: Why is there joy?/ Why is there pain?/ Why is there sunshine and the rain? Seriously, the vocals from the girls are great, but what the f*&% kind of existentialist bullshit lyrics are those?? How could these lyrics be from the same group that created Goodbye as their prior ballad!? Don't get me wrong: I'd still play LLLTW before Time Goes By. But I really think Oxygen (with some type of radio edit/mix) would have been better to release than LLLTW. It's just polluted with Darkchild beats that sound like leftovers that Debelah Morgan even said "nope!" to. :teresa:
  10. Agreed! Especially because she definitely has the talent to achieve that. The bar was set quite high after her duet with Missy Elliott, and I really think she could have achieved similar success with Hot overall. Combination of poor timing, questionable choices for songs to record, and then Virgin tossing her into a dumpster at first opportunity. I still wonder, had the girls released a follow-up to Spiceworld in 1998/1999 that included 4-piece, duets, and solo numbers -- how that would have set the stage for solo releases afterwards. :mario:
  11. Correct; that's also why these remix packs were circulated to DJs: 1 Tell Me Why (Radio Edit)3:42 2 Tell Me Why (Thunderpuss Edit)3:39 3 Tell Me Why (Thunderpuss Club Mix)10:55 4 Tell Me Why (Jonathan Peters Edit) 3:22 5 Tell Me Why (Jonathan Peters Club Mix) 1 Tell Me Why (Thunderpuss Club Anthem) 10:55 2 Tell Me Why (Thunderpuss Mixshow) 7:31 3 Tell Me Why (Thunderpuss Tribe-A-Pella) 8:02 4 Tell Me Why (ThunderDUB) 8:46 5 Tell Me Why (Thunderpuss Radio) 3:39 6 Tell Me Why (Thunderpuss Radio (Vox Up)) 3:39 7 Tell Me Why (TV Track) 3:39 8 Tell Me Why (Live Performance Track) 3:39 9 Tell Me Why (Radio Instrumental) 3:39 10 Tell Me Why (12" Instrumental) 10:55 The one in bold could have saved this as a single.
  12. What's a barge pole? (asking for a friend) :teresa:
  13.  Yes. YES! Fully agree: Mel B's rap on Weekend Love is the ONE Spicy moment in that middle stretch of the album. And I love that it comes out of nowhere and slaps. Weekend Love is 8/10 for me. I said. What I said.
  14. Is it me? Am I the drama? I don't think I'm the drama... But, you do you, boo.
  15. Wow. That was both rude to Geri and insulting to those of Italian descent at the same time. :nono: The irony is that it's in reference to a song called "Lift Me Up".
  16. Is there a world we know / Where life will naturallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy / [insert sparkly chimes] LIFT ME AAAAAOUUUUPPPPPPPPP!
  17. Worse than Britney Jean?
  18. This thread is out of control. A good spanking is in order, methinks. :coffee:
  19. WDYTYA gets my vote. Their individualities are front and center in that one!
  20. Appreciate you taking the time to write this up! I never knew the name of the male vocalist on PYS until reading this -- I remember 'back in the day' some people thought it was Sisqo LOL. The only pieces of your review that I feel differently about are: Tell Me: I'd rank as 8/10 (the Silk's House Workout Remix is my preferred version to the album version) Feel Me Now: I'd rank as a full 10/10 (I'd play this before Feed Your Love). I said ... what I said.
  21. Yay, 'stuff'! We just love ... stuff. :cheer:
  22. Agreed! And it's so nice that she keeps having more ambitions beyond whatever her latest accomplishments are. She was done so dirty on DWST USA, so she's a great example of how to keep pushing onwards when you know you have the chops to do it!
  23. It's a running gag. Sometimes a joke is nothing more than it is.
  24. I wouldn't normally quote a message this long, but I wanted to in this case so that the context of my opinion is clear. I've read (a few times now) the message that Jay posted from that user, and I can't shake this feeling: that writing style is one that I have read before, back in the days of DenDen. The part that struck me the most was this: "However I did have a few messages reminding me that these are unreleased and due to the source of the vinyl it could be traced back to me (only a handful of these exist). It might also harm our chances of getting them officially in the future." I (we) have read this type of message before. It just immediately reminds me of the buzz that was swarming just around the time when the Kennedy tracks were being teased around, and also financially campaigned for at the same time with the caveat of: "follow these instructions or we might never get them." And then Regina Phalange descended and blew that out of the water. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. I know it's their cheese because they refuse to use preservatives, but aside from that ... 1) why would those vocals/beats be pressed to vinyl (of all formats) in 1999? 2) I don't see this as a coincidence at ALL that Likely Stories just leaked before this. 3) Does anyone have access to that screenshot from a few years ago of someone's digital music player that listed all of the Biff tracks and the time lengths for each? It was largely "poo-poo'd" on by everyone, but I'm curious to know what the runtime for WOMAN was given that the vocal-only track clocks in at 3:00
  25. Is that an intentional Xmas pun? :teresa:
