Spice Girls • All Released Songs, Rarities and Demos Lists
Verrrrrry inchresting. Re: the vinyl spinning -- could it be that the spinning LP is just a video used with Go Go Go playing from another source as an overlay audio? It would be very odd indeed if vocal stems were pressed to vinyl for a song that was never pressed to CD in mixed form. Unless of course there's an acapella-ish bit in the song. We'll find out in a few days... Until then: the harmony in the clip sounds nice. Dare I say: it has more soul than tracks 4,5 and 6 on Forever.

Spotify: Most streamed Spice Girls songs
Wait. Are you saying ... that the Morales Mix is now "in demand", Jay? If so, I will have to amend my Forever25 tracklist. Please advise. :teresa:

Spotify: Most streamed Spice Girls songs
I'm honestly trying to understand the comment: the album version of Viva Forever for example, is over 5 minutes, and is beautiful and streams just fine. Can you clarify why "5+ minute songs just aren't streaming friendly"? :???:

Your 2023 Predictions: Group & Solo
Can't help but agree! To whomever leaked Likely Stories: you can let the rest of the cats out of the bag now so we can each create our own 25th anniversary releases. Thx.

It would be the easiest "exclusive" track for them to package. Of course it will show up! And they'll expect it to do what they thought Step To Me would do for SW25. The math is mathing today! :cheer:

Your 2023 Predictions: Group & Solo
As far as group projects go, the only thing I see potentially happening is Goodbye25. It would be the ideal release after a final tour ends, but that makes too much sense so I think I've just gone in circles with this post. :teresa:

Melanie C • General Discussion
:yahoo:  Major respect for her decision to remove herself from this. I love how much Melanie C actively cares about the LGBTQ+ community. Between this, and all of the efforts Mel B has taken to promote awareness of domestic violence, these two really carry that SG torch for encouraging "people power".

Former and twice impeached president of the USA, of course! Apparently he's a closeted SG fan: #GoGoGo to #Mar-A-Lago to find a real #WOMAN, but, #If Ya Do, and she's #TooHot, make sure to #Treasure her, especially if you are only staying #Overnight. :teresa: Crown it. You're all f#$%in' welcome.

Imagine if they put that much effort into SW25!

Spice Girls - 'Spiceworld 25'
To be fair, I'm willing to bet that not a single one of the five members is even aware that the CDs are available now.

Spice Girls • All Released Songs, Rarities and Demos Lists
I've been saying for decades that there are fans who have unreleased tracks. They are part of the 'elite' and they do not share easily, or at all. And interestingly (yet no so), a good proportion of them seem to be in one particular country.

Could the Spice Girls have continued after Forever?
I voted 'no' because I think Forever was so poorly received in general; when stacking that on top of the "anti spice" movement that followed, they had no chance. But the four remaining members are partly to blame. If they truly cared about that third record, they would have done more promotion. They relied on the spice brand to sell that record. Clearly, continues to be their strategy. Evidenced by S25 and SW25.

Festival Shows in 2023?
Unbelievable. Glastonbury is not exactly something that you get multiple opportunities to do. Nothing they do individually is going to attract more people/media/celebration than a 5 piece Glastonbury (or anywhere) performance. Quite ironic for a group that is all about 'legacy'. Again, the music takes a backseat. If this is true and they've passed this up, they've become a travesty. They've become exactly what critics accused them of during their peak.

^one of the points I'm stuck on to this day is how they apparently thought Geri was going to leave in Fall 1998. Where did that come from? Didn't they already start working on album #3 ? Geri was involved in the initial writing of Goodbye so I've never understood why they expected her to leave. Unless I missed something of course. I remember there was a news story on Canadian radio in late '98 (I recorded it on cassette - don't judge me) where they said that Geri's vocals had been removed from all of the tracks that they had laid down at the time for album #3.

Spice Girls - 'Spiceworld 25'
Same. I think someone should collect them all, and donate them to Bricklayer Spice to rebuild a 2 star hotel wall that a van accidentally backed into. Twice. :teresa:

Spice Girls - 'Greatest Hits'
Each time I see anything about the GH album, I am reminded that there are even unreleased tracks from THIS project. Yet, I always forget about them; I think that's because the two new ones we got on the GH were just "ok", and the group wasn't exactly united musically at the time. I'd still be curious to hear them though. I think the live version of Headlines is superior to the album version, and I think VooDoo had potential to be much better than it was. If they ever record new music again, I hope it's mainly mid- to high-tempo tracks that get people grooving and moving. I think their biggest missed branding opportunity with the GH was to release NGUOTGT as a single and name the tour after it. There's probably also a studio remix of the live version of this track from Wembley in 1998 just like there's an equivalent for SYBT, which they mostly performed the SW remix of when they were live in concert.

Spice Girls - 'Spiceworld 25'
It's that old expression: you reap what you sow. I completely agree that this re-issue was anything but a celebration; for an album that literally has a title that represents the global domination by the Spice Girls, SW25 was not the T. Is not the T. And never will be the T. Garbage in, garbage out. I'm only upset by this as a devoted fan who wanted more for this album because it deserved more. The SGs don't give a shit about this project, clearly. And how ironic: I thought SPICE 25 was a letdown in terms of the CD2 tracklisting but honestly, in hindsight, SPICE 25 is a goldmine compared to SW25. At least the former had quality audio. There's no excuse. Shame on Universal. I don't believe for a second that the SGs handpicked any of the tracks on CD2 of SW25. Melanie C is such a perfectionist. She would have vetoed those poor quality live tracks. All they probably chose was WHICH songs to feature as live tracks on CD2. Meanwhile the Istanbul recordings are collecting cookies in a folder on a hard drive somewhere in an office in Santa Monica or the Netherlands.
