  1. I was not expecting this. I just played it and I think it's a treat! It adds so much COLOUR that the original was missing -- I absolutely prefer this one to the original video. The girls are shown so much more clearly, the colours bring some party vibes to the video, and they ALL look so darn happy together. I wish they could rekindle that magic.
  2. Are we surprised? I think it's her and Geri but their reasons are probably different :teresa:
  3. What's a 'twaddle'? Asking for a friend. :teresa:
  4. Or better still, just make NGUOTGT a single :teresa:
  5. And for me, the cherry on top, was the blatant irony that the album was called 'Forever' when their intentions for the group at the time were anything BUT. Terrible title for an album that did not represent the Spice Girls brand in the slightest.
  6. (Contractual) friendship never ends. :teresa:
  7. Stop's #2 entry was the most shocking to me. Especially since, in hindsight, it remains one of their most popular songs to which even casual fans know the choreography to! I did like that for ROTSG, they played a little cheeky nod to "It's Like That" for blocking them from #1. Emma's "What I Am" being blocked by Geri's "Life Me Up" -- oof. Emma's cover was superior than Geri's original track. Mel B's 'Word Up' not performing incredibly well. I really like her cover; I actually prefer it to the original. As for Easy V, I think Out Of Your Mind and Let Your Head Go were both #1 worthy. I was surprised by those, especially the former; I still think something screwy happened there. As for Headlines, I was absolutely not shocked by that one. You reap what you sow, so, garbage in, garbage out. They deserved the sting of a #11 with that one. I will put money on the idea that had they released Never Give Up On The Good Times as a comeback single with a few quality remixes, they could have bagged another #1 single. I do enjoy the live version of Headlines though. :teresa: #SueMe
  8. That would be SO SMART, Jay! So in short, we can rule that out :teresa:
  9. What she's done is opened up a can of truth. And I love her for it! :cheer: All I need now is a few unreleased tracks and I am fully content ;)
  10. That's fair! I wouldn't be surprised if they release official footage for some of the Live tracks on SW25 like Too Much Live from Toronto, for example.
  11. I'm interested in hearing this for a couple reasons: 1) to see how it compares to the GH era megamix 2) to see if Holler makes an appearance on it (interested to see if they dip into Forever; if they don't, *maybe* they have others plans for that album later on)
  12. Amazing. :cheer:
  13. :winner: To all of this, Jay. There's also an irony that comes along with any fan preaching about other fans feeling "entitled" for wanting more, when those same fans not-so-secretly have what we want, and what we know exists. :rap:
  14. Happy with that lyric video -- they spent some coin on it, and was nice to see! Great memories of the first time I heard Step To Me from Istanbul and then when I got SW for Christmas and noticed it wasn't on the tracklisting, I was all
  15. I never thought about it that way, but I see where you are coming from: that "bare minimum" approach certainly feeds the manufactured group narrative. Those other artists that you listed in comparison though have one major difference: their back catalogues are HUGE. If you ask the average person, the SGs released only two albums; Forever is not a well known album. What a great opportunity they are missing to add to their catalogue by releasing shelved tracks from their peak of popularity -- an era that coincides with their first two albums -- to celebrate that sound; that magic; that soul that captivated so many of us. I'd be completely understanding if they left some tracks in the vault as I'm sure they aren't all fantastic. I'm hoping there is a rarities album being considered for release within the next year. Waiting another three years for an alleged Forever25 doesn't exactly pack a punch like riding the SW wave where this group of energetic women were dominating the entire world across multiple media formats. I still can't shake this feeling that if it were up to Melanie C, Mel B, and Emma, we'd have many more previously unreleased tracks by now. Surely most of them are better than DooDoo VooDoo. :teresa:
  16. Spice Invaders is certainly not their best b-side, or anywhere near the top of their catalogue, however, I don't think it's 'awful' -- it has more energy, zest and 'spice' than the majority of Forever. #SueMe :teresa: I agree, Jay. However, re: remixes for Stop -- the only ones I know of are by Morales, Stretch & Vern, and The Extra Brass Mix. Are there others that you know of? I always thought the Morales and Stretch & Vern mixes for Stop didn't do justice to the song. I regret buying CD1 of Stop; the live tracks on CD2 made the single purchase worthy for me.
  17. Wondering if this is the same "megamix" that was released in 2007 with the GH package.
  18. Agreed on all fronts. I think the Morales Mix of Stop is terrible, regardless of whether it's the edit or full length club mix. It completely sucks the energy out of the song for me.
  19. I think we've learned that when it comes to the SG, anything and everything CAN be a blocking point. Get well soon, Geri! :P Thanks for the mention, Sideout! I have mentioned that before yes - I just think the next year is going to be their last BIG celebration of what they achieved. With all the press, it would be a smart time to bulk up their catalogue with either unreleased tracks or (heaven forbid) new music.
  20. I find the concept of Forever25 a bit difficult to wrap my head around. Sure, there's more or less a whole other album from 1998/1999 that they never released and it would be great to get that, but given how many unreleased tracks they are still hoarding and sleeping on (from Spice at least), I am doubtful anything will come out of the vault, especially for an album where the group wasn't unified as a 5 piece to begin with. Can't imagine Gerita White celebrating an era that she forced yet wasn't a part of. However, I will say, I think new artwork for Forever25, if it happens, would alone be considered a win by the fanbase. I still remembering buying the album on the day it came out here and looking at in my hands and thinking: they look exhausted; 'colours of the world' my arse. :teresa: I'm not saying the entire album is poor, but it just ... wasn't the best version of what they could have been as a 4-piece (in my opinion). I think if they made a 4 piece album today, it would be a better record because they just seem in a much better place with everything.
  21. Agreed. I think they forget how many singles they sold because us hardcore fans already have those bsides. It's just not an incentive for me to buy "remastered" versions of tracks I already have.
  22. Where can I buy that? Wait ... add an "in-demand" remix from 1997 as a bonus track first.
  23. OMG ... the hot glue gun girls are fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiightiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing! In all seriousness though -- all it would take is for their team to hop on social media or a couple forums to realize what a lot of us want, is the album they recorded but never gave us and whatever songs from their first two albums are still locked away. Common sense doesn't prevail here. Case in point: the 7" mix of SYBT on SPICE25. Why? WHY!? That could have been the SW remix of SYBT, or, the album version of SYBT with Mel B's extended rap. Both wanted. Highly. But ... nope. Let's just add "7 inch" to the mix -- that should bring all the gays to the yard. :teresa:
  24. I wish I had thought of that LOL!
