  1. I love that cover! If it's real, I think it will look quite sleek in person versus on a screen.
  2. That's a shame; wondering if they could have made that a condition for appearing as a guest judge. It's Raining Men or Bag It Up are campy obvious choices for lip sync songs.
  3. He definitely did! There used to be a preview for it on his website, but it doesn't run properly anymore because Flash is no longer supported. :teresa:
  4. Another good one; the 'sex' bit is especially apparent when you watch the music video that was set to that remix. Dr. Octavo also remixed 'Maybe' -- shame it never saw the light of day...
  5. I didn't know she recently spoke to that. Interesting. I guess we'll see! Of all the SGs, I've always thought Melanie C's accounts of events would be the most accurate/honest/solid.
  6. I can't shake this feeling that, as of right now, all 5 of them are down (or at least open) to participate in 2023 -- but once Melanie C's memoir comes out, I can see some ... conflict arising a la "I can't believe she painted me that way" narrative, and then things might go belly-up.
  7. I like the Sharp Boys Vocal Mix of Look At Me the most. It's emphasizes the darkness of the original version, and also sounds very underground and almost ... witchy.
  8. I'm sure lunch was provided during said meeting, and took longer to get through than coming up with the title.
  9. The designs are secondary to me. The SW25 cover could include the photo of Melanie C from the front cover for her memoir for all I care because I'd be willing to completely overlook that for quality unreleased tracks from when the SGs were at their prime in late 90s. I want to celebrate that music -- from when they were in recording studios together and (more or less) equally cared about being SGs. :yahoo:
  10. Especially the stretch of tracks 4,5,6 -- ooof. I remember the first time I played Forever from start to finish and when Mel B's rap came on in Weekend Love -- it reinvigorated the album for me because it brought some SPICE to it. I also think If You Wanna Have Some Fun would have made a great single. Super smooth, a little racy, and stands strong on the record with Holler in terms of the RnB piece. As much as I love Goodbye, in my opinion, it sticks out like a sore thumb on Forever because it sounds like The Spice Girls that we wanted them to be.
  11. The first time I ever heard Step To Me was in the Instanbul concert when it aired on TV the first time. That rock guitar riff and rap from Mel B completely hooked me in. I was sooooooo disappointed when it wasn't on the Spiceworld album at the time. In hindsight, I think it fits better on Spice but since it didn't show up on SPICE25, I surmise it will make an appearance on SW25.
  12. Fully agreed. The Forever we DIDN'T get likely reflects a united four piece, which is why I think a lot of us want it. It's the last snapshot of the SGs from that very magical time.
  13. I don't think Live albums are as popular anymore, but if they continue to milk that nostalgia vibe, then I think a Live album could fit into that line of thinking.
  14. I remember reading on some forum.com.whatever that David Morales had created a remix for NGUOTGT but I'm not sure if this was ever substantiated? I think the Live version of NGUOTGT from 1998 in Wembley was really nice -- I wouldn't mind a studio version of that. Speaking of which, I remember when they did press in Canada in 1998 as a four-piece, they mentioned in an interview that they had a Live album in the works -- not surprising since they were using Live tracks as the b-sides for the last two singles off of Spiceworld, so that would be a nice disc 2 in SPICEWORLD25 if there truly are zero b-sides left from that era. However they end up getting released, in all honesty, once I get my ears on WOMAN, Treasure, Overnight, Go Go Go, and If Ya Do I will never ask the SG for anything again. I'll make my own 'Forever' album on my music player and call it a day for collecting SG material. :cheer:
  15. Agreed. Plus, I'm sure that in general, most fans would prefer to hear the tracks from the vault that were created while they were at the top as a group versus demo (and largely subpar) versions of songs we already have. Headlines was ok. It's better live because they are doing it together unlike when they recorded it. VooDoo had potential to be WDYTYA -ish but again, the lack of unity on the vocals was a sore spot for me. IMO, My Strongest Suit is better than VooDoo. I've actually been playing it often recently - I have a newfound appreciation for it that I didn't have in my teens
  16. Great point! :)
  17. Willing to bet that The Chizz' upcoming autobiography will be more insightful than anything else!
  18. Headlines VS Viva Forever = bloodbath in favour of the latter
  19. #TeamDisco ... need to go with WDYTYA; the single that converted me into a SG fan!
  20. While I voted for SUYL because I gravitate more towards their higher bpm tracks, SYBT is a better song lyrically. And I have to say, releasing SYBT after Wannabe was a brilliant move -- it not only showed their ability as a group to fit into different genres, but for me, SYBT perfectly captures the sleek, edgy essence of the 'SPICE' album. Now, if only I could get ahold of SYBT with Mel B's full rap and the Spiceworld Remix of SYBT ... ... what a missed opportunity for including them on SPICE25 :teresa:
  21. Agreed, Jay! When I watch that Pepsi ad, it is so clear whey they captivated so many of us: every single one of them oozes charisma when they are together as a 5 piece. Of all 5, I think Mel B has the most natural "it" factor.
  22. Ok so last night FINALLY”reunited with ALL my girls”hahaha🦄at the @stylistmagazine awards. So honoured to be given this award and thankful to everyone for their constant support and understanding NOW when I talk/cry/yell about domestic violence, but I no I wouldn’t have a platform like this without my spice girls.I remember this pic like it was yesterday literally yesterday ahhhh it made me smile deep in my heart seeing this when I was walking to my seat #spiceforce5🇬🇧 #neverforget #whereyoucomefrom #stopabuse @womens_aid Congratulations to @OfficialMelB MBE for winning the ‘Fearless Future’ award at the ‘Stylist Remarkable Women’ Awards in London on Monday evening (March 14) 💙 Well done Mel  I'm so proud of Mel B
  23. Agreed; it's not like it was their fault that Gerita wasn't with them at that time.
  24. I'm sure all it would take is an email. Pretty sure all of those live tracks were mastered and ready to be pressed to CD in '98.
  25. Couldn't agree more with this! I received 'Hot' for my birthday the year it was released in Canada. It didn't hit me off the cuff with a WOW factor that I was expecting (especially with that album cover)! However, after repeated plays, it became one of my favourites. The tracklisting, I agree, should be rearranged in some places, and Word Up should have been included on the record. I really like the energy of that Word Up cover; I prefer it to the original, and Mel's energy in the video is just spot-on with the whole quirky vibe of the song. Mel B has such natural star power and charisma; it's just a shame the label tossed her solo album into the fire. I imagine things would have turned out much MUCH differently had she assembled the album right off the success of I Want You Back around the time the Spiceworld tour ended.
