Kath wot are you saying ? she made some brilliant records and she was one hot rock chick .............gorgeous in fact. Heart and Soul.... Secret Garden....Soul Destruction.... they were great, but like a lot of 80s bands T 'Pau petered out. Look at Duran Duran, a few hits in the early 80s then zilch . I used to think that Carol was writing these hot songs, but in fact her boyfriend Ronnie Rodgers was the real songwriting power behind the throne. Carol I think only contributed on the lyrics side ... not sure how much. A bit like Blondie, I used to think that she wrote some of their cool songs, but in fact it was her boyfriend Chris Stein who was on beam songwriting wise and Blondie did contribute some lyrics. Two hot chicks around in the 80s, though Debbie lasted a lot longer at the top.l

Maybe it is for the best they split up, 10 years is a long time and as Abba and the Beatles discovered, a good time to call it a day. They had a great run, made some fab songs and albums.... time to move on !

Boy did those guys have hair .... facial hair, body hair, those Wilson brothers were seriously hairy guys. Denis especially with his thick beard, his hairy chest...and thick head of hair. (He even did the hair shaking bit on stage to drive the girls wild... way before the Beatles made it their own.) Carl was seriously hairy too often sporting a thick beard Brian was prob the same, but chose the clean shaven look. Denis seems to have lost it by the 80s and was turning into a beach bum, sozzled all day, but boy, in the 60s and 70s ... did he live the American dream... Big Time !

Yes wot a talented guy ( though I always get him mixed up with Nik Heywood ) " Would nt it be nice.." ..... an all time classic.. but he suddenly disappeared from view, Maybe he got fed up with the pop roundabout ? but the guy is still a legend and wot a brilliant songwriter Here's Nik in 2008 go here He looks a shoe in for some of the 80s nostalgia tours, wonder if he ever did any of them ?

Carol was one of the hottest rock babes of the 1980s, they made some fabulous songs, ( think her boyfriend was writing most of them .. now ex boyfriend ) Cant help thinking that they went off half cock, they could have gone on to rule the world, but it all went phut ! http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/3572/69caroldekkerrieicarooo.jpg http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/5630/65caroldekkerrieicarooo.jpg http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/5954/1caroldekkerrieicaroool.jpg http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/2803/76caroldekkerrieicarooo.jpg

quote Trevor Horn produced their debut album, I believe and it's not bad if you dont mind the vocals. end quote Hmm , interesting, never knew that ! One of the girls, the red head... speaks fluent English, the brunette though does nt seem to be able to speak a sentance in English ... ! ( but maybe she's improved since back then ! Agnetha of Abba was the same in the early days !)

early in the 60s songs often had a little intro eg the Sandy Shore song... Venus must have heard my plea She has sent someone along for me.... It was a trend that died out in the swinging 60s so it was sweet to see Abba revive it in one or two songs Lay your head on my breast, so you hear every beat of my heart Now there's nothing at all that can keep us apart Touch my lips, close your eyes and see with your fingertips Things that you do, and you know I'm crazy 'bout you.... Kisses of fire, burning burning Im at the point of no returning ... One brilliant song too.... ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsjSitIM_Ys .

Two lovely Russian girls with heavenly voices, who can be against that ? Their act and video performances packed with lesbian inuendo , maybe some object to that ? I love the intensity of their songs... All the things she said... etc great studio production too ( wonder who wrote their stuff ? ) They are one of the few memorable groups of the noughties. and hopefully they ll keep going in the teenies too

i think Erasure played a big part in the Abba revival and besides, Vince looks a lot like Bjorn ! They did a lot for Abba Agnetha did a lot for lycra !

the 70s belonged to Abba, just like the 60s belonged to the Beatles

I used to think they were naff with a capital N but got to admit now that they are brilliant. In fact Robin said that they are up with the Beatles in radio play worldwide they are about equal, which says a lot for the songwriting of the Gibb brothers. ( must be some nice royalties rolling in too ! ) Tragic for the family that they have lost two of the four Gibb brothers, so young, but life goes on and Ive heard that Barry and Robin have been in the studios again but have they yet performed anywhere as a duo ? have nt seen anything .

Brilliant group in their time... maybe Norway's answer to Abba? but the songs are often very high pitched.... Wonder how Morton went on touring... having to tackle those songs every night must have put one hell of a strain on his voice !
