I'll have to make the full list. The first one-hit wonder on my chart was Gary Miller, in 1956 with "Robin Hood". When "The Night Is Young" and "There Goes That Song Again" were both put on the playlist for 23 December 1961 but failed to chart, that was it for him. The last one-hit wonder in my chart was Jeremy Messersmith with "Purple Hearts" in 2018. He released some other songs but nothing else charted. My first formal chart is 31 December 1955 although I have 4 weeks of charts prior to that which are not complete. My final formal chart is 1 September 2018.

My favourite band of all time! You split We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions but didn't include Bicycle Race?

Nearly 63 years of personal charts. In the 1950s the vast majority came from the USA, and all but one of the rest from the UK. In 1957 and 1958 there was only one #1 in each year by a British artist. The only number one act in the 1950s not from either the UK or USA was Canadian Paul Anka who reached #1 in 1957 with "Diana". Canada has provided plenty more number ones over the years, including Steppenwolf in the 1960s and later Bryan Adams, Alanis Morissette and others. Of course among the Americans is Elvis Presley and among the British are the Beatles. (The first British artist to reach #1 in my chart was Anne Shelton with "Arrivederci Darling"). Let's list a few countries and at least one #1 act or song. Netherlands: In the UK it was Pussycat, in my chart that got to #5, but Golden Earring got to #1 with "Radar Love" at the start of 1974. (Two Unlimited didn't get even close in my chart) Sweden: Abba didn't quite have as many number ones in my chart as in the UK but they still had 4. Ireland: The Boomtown Rats were one of my favourite bands and had a string of number ones, and later U2, although Thin Lizzy got one before them with "The Boys Are Back In Town" in 1976. Australia: Air Supply were one of the biggest acts in my chart in the 1980s and had 4 number ones. Norway: A-Ha had 3 number ones in my chart Germany: Nena got to #1 in my chart too and in 1998 so did Bell Book & Candle with "Rescue Me". But not Die Rheinlander even though "Humba Heee" is considered by biggest foreign-language hit of all time. France: Herman Dune in 2007 with "I Wish That I Could See Her Soon" Belgium: Dana Winner, one week in 2007 with "Als Je Lacht" replaced Herman Dune at #1 and the only foreign language #1. Italy: Giorgio Moroder has written many number ones and was behind others but was credited on "Together In Electric Dreams" with Phillip Oakey. Switzerland: Double in 1986 with "The Captain Of Her Heart" Jamaica: Reggae acts to top my chart included Bob & Marcia with "Young Gifted And Black" and also Pluto Shervington with "Dat". Denmark: Alphabeat with "Fascination" in 2008 Iceland: Without Gravity -"Beautiful Son" was the #1 of the whole decade and topped my chart in 2005 (a week after my son was born) Finland: Pepe Deluxe in 2007 with "The Mischief Of Cloud 6" and in 2015 Hans On The Bass with "A Year A Week And Half A Day" Israel: Topol in 1967 with "If I Were A Rich Man" Greece: Echo Train in 2014 with "Fire" Portugal: Captain Black in 2007 with "Come On Up To Our House" (replaced Pepe Deluxe at #1) Austria: Zeronic twice in 2009 with "The Price Of Zeitgeist" and again in 2012 with "Nights" Poland: Neo Retros - We're Glad That You Came in 2012 replaced "Nights" by Zeronic at #1 Also of you count: Trinidad & Tobago: Billy Ocean (1976, Love Really Hurts Without You) but you might count him as British. You could also count Zanzibar as Freddie Mercury came from there and had #1s both solo and with Queen, and India if you count Cliff Richard as coming from there although that's really one step too far. I'll have to look through my chart lists (particularly from 2007 onward) and see what other countries I have missed. I can't recall any number one artists from Spain right now. Baccara didn't make it in my chart.

1970: Christie - San Bernadino (only peaked at #3) 1971: Lynn Anderson - Rose Garden 1972: Alice Cooper - School's Out* 1973: Steely Dan - Reelin' In The Years 1974: First Class - Beach Baby 1975: Elton John - Philadelphia Freedom 1976: Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear The Reaper (this wasn't a UK hit until 2 years later) 1977: Rod Stewart - You're In My Heart. That was #7 of the year. "Easy" by the Commodores which peaked at #2 was #8 of the year, those two above many number ones. 1978: Suzi Quatro - If You Can't Give Me Love (narrowly above Tom Robinson Band - Glad To Be Gay) * Stevie Wonder - Superstition had a run that crossed between 1972-73 and would end up higher placed than "School's Out". It peaked at #2, first behind John Lennon's "Happy Xmas War Is Over" and then behind Carly Simon's "You're So Vain".

As I normally only chart one version of songs I charted the Italian version of Torero by Renato Carosone (it peaked at #5) and Julius LaRosa's English version, which was his only UK hit, didn't reach my chart.

Loads have as my chart dates back to 1977 and I also have a retro era from 1960 up to mid-1965 so far. Whilst Cliff Richard has never had any #1s in the modern era, he has managed 3 so far in the 1960s era, so even Cliff Richard makes the list.. 2007 marks the start of the "Download" era in my chart and there have been very few since then. However these artists have had the most #1s since 2007: 6 Skinny Lister (one in 2012 then 5 within 13 months, December 2014 to December 2015). 4 Slow Club (in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2014) 3 Mika (2 in 2007, one in 2009) 3 Tich (all in 2013) 3. Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott (Prior to the download era, The Beautiful South had 6 number ones, of which Jacqui Abbott was a member on 2 of them)

(Thus the current #1 and Ex-Cassette are both repeats but no others are, not even Haschak Sisters at #3 who went down this week). - The song at #1 always appears last. In fact the highest 9 songs in the chart on the week are put in "fixed" positions and the others fill the remaining spots randomly. The second highest placed song that is played (not always the #2 if that was previously #1 and played) always appears right in the middle.

I am only posting the top 40s. However the "last week" column will sometimes show a position lower than #40 because my chart is actually a top 100. None of my #1s ever get anywhere near the UK chart anymore. 5 Seconds Of Summer - Don't Stop reached UK #2 last year and NM #1. That's probably my last #1 to get in the UK chart. Skinny Lister who had 3 during this period should be a massive hit-making band in the UK but are not due to bureaucracy in the music industry at its worst ever. Interestingly the bands I follow who never chart can still sell out decent sized venues.

Nick Jonas has co-written my #1 single of the decade so far (the brilliant strings version of Breathe In Breathe Out that they don't want you to hear) but has little to show other than that.

Picking the worst times for my chart is relatively easy. Around 1993-94: I had very few number ones and reduced my chart down to a top 18. Early 2002 was relatively poor too. Since 2007, the "download era" I have always found enough to fill the chart, although the weeks I need entries, just after Christmas to dispose the chart of all its Christmas hits, is always the time there were fewest. Since recently, a youtube video that isn't a still audio has become a requisite which has eased the burden of overly large playlists. Early 2014 was probably the period that had the most songs trying to get in the chart as I created my script in February.

Up until 16th May my chart had so far had only 5 number ones but new number ones on 23rd and 30th May mean I now have 7. The only #1 so far to have been followed-up is by the only artist who have had two this year, Skinny Lister. None of the #1s in my chart this year so far have been debut hits by the artist.
