I feel the same way. Personally, I hate these sort of comps. but I'm sure there are others who would sell their granny to be able to have this closeness of contact with Will  I could undersatnd him doing a small gig just for the fans and having a drink with them afterwards, but a dinner party can be an awkward affair even amongst friends let alone 16 strangers, no, I wouldn't want to do this at all.
  2. Well now we know it isn't the proms, it could be Album tour film play musical engagement to C ;) Can't think of anything else, but I bet it is something we haven't thought of
  3. The confirmation for the Proms is up, but the big news is still to come, tomorrow morning
  4. If it is about the proms, as much as it will be nice to get confirmation, I think it'll probably be a bit of an anti climax now. The excitement getting news of this event was 3 weeks ago . I suppose I'm hoping for something even better, don't know what exactly but just something that we haven't already had a heads up for :D
  5. Yep me, which is probably quite a timely break for me at the moment :D
  6. Well done to us and as a postscript, I know I shouldn't laugh, but I'm going to
  7. I think it's probably the Proms, but I'm suprised they're announcing it with this much of a fanfare. It's normally a 'Will has been confrimed' job, but then again, we've got a new admin on the OS haven't we. so he might like to add a bit of intrigue once in a while :D
  8. It really is awful to have your home flooded, it hasn't happened to me personally, but friends of ours have seen their bungalow flooded 3 times in the 8 years they've lived there, on the second occassion, just 2 weeks after completing all the decorating, new carpets etc. from the previous flood. A gentle stream that flows 50yards away from their perimeter fence, turns into a raging torrent when there's been a heavy rainful. There's been some work from the rivers authority further down stream which has improved the situation now, but last Friday saw the water rise to within an inch of coming in the conservatory, so they were very lucky. My mum used to live near to where Will's London house is and those basements are always prone to flood when the rainfull's been too much for our Victorian drainage system to cope with.
  9. I honestly don't know, but that's the impression I got from the posts on D
  10. Yes you have, Gareth's OS :D I thought you got it sorted about someone joining with your name. Someone joined with mine too a while ago, but I don't think they ever posted. Blimey, the World's full of nutters.
  11. It probably will be the Proms, but I don't think the pop acts actually headline do they? I think that honour will go to the opera stars that are performing on the night. Anyway, for those who hadn't seen it, one of the posters on D has attended the last two years, Lionel Richie last year, and Simply Red the year before. They did a 20/30 min set, so hopefully 5 songs for Will? :D
  12. Thank you for your messages. On a positive note, my son was very impressed with the speed my daughter-in-law was treated from the moment a doctor was first called to their hotel. Only problem is, hardly any of the staff speaks English of course, and they're dependant on one Aussie member of staff who speaks fluent Greek and who's been helping them so far.
  13. My daughter-in-law has had an ectopic pregnancy while on holiday in Rhodes. She's in hospital over there and my son is trying to be with her and look after their 5 year old daughter at the same time. Under 12's aren't allowed on the wards in Greek hospitals apparently. The reps are looking after her today, but it's so difficult. None of us grandparents can go over there, none of us have even got a flipping current passport, and her sister is on her hols in the US. He's just going to have to cope the best he can until she's well enough to fly home, but the surgeon is very strict, because if he lets her out of hospital before she's fit enough, he risks being arrested.
  14. I've always had dogs, our road is too busy for me to want to bring cats there and risk their lives, but as I said earlier in the thread, I seem to have fostering rights on two local moggies. We were in pieces when we lost our last two dogs, and I won't ever have one again. Hubby keeps trying to get me to the local dogs trust pound, but there's no way I'll risk that level of heartbreak again. I send money to the trust, the Blue Cross, The Donkey Sanctuary and the Brooke Hospital as well as WWF, so I keep my links with animals that way, other than that, I enjoy my ponds and the fish that breed in them, I don't get so attatched. :D

And don't get me started on the lack of a proper album launch for KO :arrr: How bloody stupid was that? If you're to get the decent media reviews and the appreciation of your peers, it comes from the smaller more intimate venues, bloody great arenas, just don't have the same vibe :D After the furore surrounding 'Home' over on Devoted  , I had a look back at the reviews forum. How did I miss that Chris Martin and Guy Richie had been sitting on the floor listening to Will perform the track with Nitin at the Electric Proms?

I'm really hoping that the lack of tv shows to promote, leads to a lot more small live gigs. If there's one critisism I have of the KO period, for me, it was like a Westlife promotion. One album, one arena gig and on to the next project. Friday's Child had seen 3 tours promote it, that's probably another reason for it's huge sales, but apart from the two lcompetition only dates, I can't think of any others for KO and to be honest, a tour a year on from release, isn't going to push sales too much either I wouldn't think. I've noticed that the new kids on the block, like James Morrison and Paulo Nutini are out there singing most of the time. Live is where Will excels and even if I can't get to see him myself, I hope he'll be doing plenty of 'live' next time around

It doesn't bother me either now. The credibility of the Brits itself has come under scrutiny. I think most people know the score, it's a label lead slap on the back annual occasion. Even Glastonbury seems to be losing it's status as the coolest place on earth to perform, with the other festivals winning over.
  18. That's what I was wondering, she wasn't on Devoted either yesterday. I know how upsetting it is when pets are ill, they become like your children.
  19. [quote name='Lainey' Any more news on the Proms on the 8th, I thought we might have had an official announcement by now! Snippet from a couple of band members Myspaces this week. From one "How are you mate, I'll be seeing you soon methinks" Reply was "Yeah, really looking forward to it" Now, I'd like to think this was in reference to the proms gig, because these two don't work together all the time, except for Will's gigs I think
  20. Seriously though TT, if someone is that desperate to top this chart, that they risk RSI to get there, then they're welcome to it  Absolutely hilarious, all those posts in a day, I bet her bum was numb too from sitting at the PC so long:D
  21. Equally seriously ;) , I don't think this song is going to harm Shayne's credibility in the least. All he's known for so far, is an XFactor winner with a good voice and good looks. Releasing a c**p song won't alter peoples perceptions of him, afterall, he's made no great claims as a singer/songwriter that he's failed to live up to, has he?
  22. I'm sorry, but however much it sticks in the craw, charts and making money is indeed what it's all about. If an artist doesn't make money for his label, then he kisses the recording contract goodbye, it's that simple. I happen to think Shayne's song is tat, but I'm sure it'll sell like hot cakes and Shayne will live to fight another day (or make another album if you prefer  ) It might be a Max Martin composition, but one I should think he's had knocked back for years, Shayne's got no choice but to record it, because he isn't a big enough artist to have the pick of the songs on offer yet and he obviously can't write himself. So, he gets a reject song, sell shedloads to the kiddies. Max is happy, Louis is happy, Shayne's happy, even Shayne's fans are happy, so everyone's a winner ;)
  23. Ten seconds in, and with the onset of motion sickness, I've given up on the video. I suppose it's trendy to employ a camerman with St. Vitus dance, but I find VTs like that totally unwatchable. :arrr:
  24. You've got the wrong year Chrsalis, Will was on tour with KO in 2006 :D And yes, the RVP was televised, Howard on piano, Will singing ATL :D
  25. I think this is a lesson for anyone hoping to make a come back to the charts. If they haven't got a great first single, which none of the recent failures seem to have had, then opt for a novelty one. Everyone will be talking about it, even if it's only to rubbish it, but better that, than arriving and disappearing again with barely a ripple. ;)
