Grace and Someone You Loved were both big for Lewis Capaldi at the same time, though possibly a case of the latter fuelling the former (a bit like the impact Good Luck, Babe! had on Chappell's album).

Feel like I've paid the contest even less attention than usual this year, mostly because Sweden has let me down (soz KAJ fans x), so I'm excited to see what will become my favourite of the year!

It's interesting arriving at Mark's solo career only recently, because I can see some comparisons to Harry Styles in how he approached it. Their first albums were a significant diversion sonically from what they were known for in their groups, and both their debut singles were 5 minute long ballads. Both their second albums were more commercial, too. Obviously their chart fortunes were vastly different, it's just interesting to see some similar decisions along the way! Magic is one of his very best songs! I'd love to think we could get a new Mark album in the coming years.

I take your point - I should have clarified that I meant in its current form! It's worth noting YouTube videos are only counted to the chart from official accounts, it doesn't count user uploaded videos or any edits, mashups, shorts, etc that feature the song, which is where the difference lies right now. If TikTok were to launch a streaming service, or become a platform where lyric videos in their entirety were uploaded, then I think it'd be a conversation worth having. If TikTok in its current form is counted then Instagram stories probably would have to be too, and that's why I think it's very unlikely as things stand.

I'm actually not sure off the top of my head, I know there have been weeks where there's been a significant turnover of top 40 hits, so perhaps on an album release week from someone like The Kid LAROI or Harry Styles? That said, I've just looked back, even when Harry's House came out and Harry locked out my top 13, Laroi's STAY was still charting after almost a full year, so perhaps not! I did just have a quick flick back to last year though - yes, and? became my longest runner in only its 9th week last March! Beautiful Things then got it in its 11th week, so those are probably good bets for my freshest charts.

I started having a vague interest in the charts around 2004 through watching the music channels and buying CDs with my pocket money in Woolworths. This grew as I'd check for my favourite artists' placements in the chart whenever they released, such as Girls Aloud and Sugababes, whilst also scouring the HMV website for new release information! I drifted from the charts by the end of the 00s and found my way back to them just a bit after I joined Buzzjack, mostly through following The Saturdays and the build-up to All Fired Up. I've had a keen interest ever since, my mathematical brain mixing with the huge music fan in me makes the chart a very easy and addictive hobby, even if it's not in its most exciting period right now! I've listened to the chart show most weeks from January 2013 to now.

It was a really wholesome episode, I loved the display of black culture through the eyes of the Doctor and his home from home in his current incarnation. The cast were strong and the episode itself felt quite experimental in its approach, the visuals for the stories were gorgeous and I enjoyed the breathing space. I didn't find it hard to understand, but it was very talky at times and I do think I need a rewatch soon to absorb some of the details properly. That's my only criticism of it though! Jo Martin's cameo felt... right. The first black Doctor appearing in an episode centred so much on blackness (and celebrating it, not through the eyes of racism) was a genius touch, however brief.
