Sugababes played the Summertime Ball last year! Not the case for Avril so I guess they've tested some throwback favourites on the audience, they often play Scandalous by Mis-Teeq for example

Honestly Mariah headlining the Summertime Ball wouldn't entirely surprise me - they had Alicia Keys for both nights of the Jingle Bell Ball in 2023 (and Take That also headlined) so if they give her the big pimp slot at the end I could imagine it! It is unlikely though I do concede, but it is strange that they're playing so many Mariah songs recently.

Looked back at Sorry I'm Here for Someone Else's release week, it was new at #146 on Apple at around 9pm. Up to #88 by midday Saturday. It debuted at #30 officially (despite spending some of the week outside the Spotify top 200), so just putting Mystical Magical's strong debut into context!

Fantastic for Benson, Sorry I'm Here for Someone Else debuted at #61 on Spotify! That was higher on New Music Friday than Mystical Magical, and was immediately added to Hot Hits UK, unlike this. Hopefully it can sustain this momentum and get a HHUK add on Monday to grow into a huge hit! He's now up to #27 on Apple (and Sorry is #19).

Strong week this week for new singles! Benson Boone - Mystical Magical Tom Odell - Don't Let Me Go Bradley Simpson feat. Nieve Ella - Favourite Band Aitch & Anne-Marie - LUV? Zara Larsson - Pretty Ugly Lorde - What Was That Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Vertigo Vilhelm Buchaus - Please Don't No albums this week have caught my eye at the moment.

Favourite Band was my immediate favourite of the songs I didn't know on the album, and I'm glad it's getting a moment as a single, definitely the right choice for me. That said, I don't think Nieve really adds anything to the song, so I'll probably be sticking mostly to the album version.

I'm not really an Aitch fan generally speaking but I did love PSYCHO, and I'm glad this is a very worthy successor, they work really well together and it's so catchy!

Sticking to stuff that's charted here, these are a few gaps for me: The Vamps feat. Shawn Mendes - Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart) - this was absent for a while, with the Shawn version just playing the album version, then it came back and now it's entirely vanished again. The album version remains though x Elyar Fox - Do It All Over Again and A Billion Girls Mark Owen - the single versions/radio edits of all of his charting singles are missing, most notably for I Am What I Am which was significantly reworked for its single mix Liz McClarnon - Woman in Love / I Get the Sweetest Feeling - randomly remixes of the former are available but the main version is greyed out, and there's no version of the latter available Lucie Silvas - Don't Look Back (radio version) And I'll second Daisy Dares You x There's also various deeper cuts missing for artists I love. Girls Aloud have a select few songs that are still missing, while Rachel Stevens doesn't have the re-issue of Funky Dory nor the b-side to I Said Never Again, for example. Cher Lloyd's Oath never came out on UK Spotify either!
